In the "old" version of query builder, I used to submit and register a list of PIT tags that I would then use to build queries.  I do not see the option of uploading files and "registering" PIT tags in the new query builder.  However, when you build a query in the new version, it is easy to upload a list of tags from a .csv file.  My impression with the new query builder is that "registering" tag lists is no longer relevant because tag lists are stored in the query, not a separate file. Is it correct to assume that registered tag lists in the new query builder are now extinct?

That is essentially correct, but there are ways to duplicate the functionality of registered tag lists in the new system. The first is the method you mentioned - uploading a list of tag codes in a CSV file. Using this method, that list of tag codes is stored in that particular query, but is not available to use in other queries. There is a limit to the number of tag codes you can use, as well, of 15,000.

However, you can also use a saved report as a filter on tag code in a query. This feature most closely resembles the old registered tag lists as you can build a query to return the list of tag codes in which you are interested, save it as a static report, and then use it as a filter in multiple other queries. To do this you must save the query as a static report and it should only contain tag codes.
