I'm trying to upload a new tag session in P3 and I get the following error: Error exporting selected tag sessions: #429- Active X component can't create object.

It appears from the error the library used for uploading is either corrupted or not registered. Please try the following to correct this:
    1. Make a backup of your P3.MDB file
    2. Uninstall P3
    3. Reboot
    4. Reinstall the latest P3 version

Your P3.MDB database should be fine during the reinstall process -- the backup is just a precaution.

Please let me know if this corrects the problem.

John, I've looked into it some more and I think there is an issue with how my computer is set up. I have a regular user account and then an admin account which I'm not supposed to use on a regular basis. The usual spot where the P3.mdb file should be c:\Program Files (x86)\PTAGIS\P3 contains an empty database. I found the database where P3 is actually storing my data. It was located at c:\Users\regan.mcnatt\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files (x86)\PTAGIS\P3. I tried to copy and paste this .mdb file into the usual location but when I tried to open it I got the error "Could not lock file". I think this is likely an issue for the NOAA IT people. I'm able to connect my field computer and upload tag files through it for the meantime.

See this forum thread for more information about why your P3.mdb file is located in the Virtual Store directory: http://www.ptagis.org/community/forums/tagging/p3-master-db.

This probably does not have anything to do with your uploading issues. P3 needs to be run from the computer account under which it was installed. If P3 was installed using your administrator account, then it likely won't work correctly if you try to run it using your regular user account.
