=============================================== Information on MiniMon Production Release =============================================== Please upgrade to the latest release of MiniMon to ensure compatiblity for new types of tag codes released in the Basin. See below for details. WARNING: We strongly recommend uninstalling any previous versions of MiniMon before upgrading to a new version especially if upgrading from major versions (i.e. 1.4.x to 1.7.x) WARNING: MiniMon has limited support for Win98 and WinME. These operating systems are no longer supported by Microsoft and we suggest upgrading to WinXP SP2 or better. WARNING: MiniMon has a known issue running on Vista. When set for automated restart, on occasion Vista will not allow MiniMon security access to create a new interrogation file after a system failure or hard shutdown without the user logging in first. WARNING- the FS2020 stores up to 100 status messages in a compressed format and downloading these messages on the high-speed port may result in one or more serial I/O line status error (tag messages are downloaded w/o issue). Use the maintenance port set to ASCII mode and 9600 BAUD to limit line status errors during downloads with large number of stored status messages. Disabled validation on known manufacturer's code per PIT Tag Steering Committee request. Any manufacturer's (or country) code will be accepted by MiniMon as a valid tag code as long as it meets 3.10 hexadecimal convention. 2.Disable logging of system resources when interrogation is started due to an irreproducable error occuring on some (possibley non-english) versions of Windows 7. ================================================= Production Release 1.6.1 ================================================= 1. Support for FS2020 1.3A firmware release, including a buffering (line status) error on large full status or downloaded stored status messages. WARNING- the downloaded status message may result in a line error due to MiniMon not able to keep up with high-speed output and translating stored status messages. Please use the ASCII mode on the local port at 9600 baud to download stored status messages without line status errors. 2. Corrected issue with DCS0, DCS1 and DCSR FS2020 commands. ================================================= Production Release 1.6.0 ================================================ 1. Added support for the FS2020 transceiver. To configure, select the FS2020 device type and either ASCII or BPA protocol data filter. 2.HDX tags will be output with a manufacturer/ country code of 000 instead of HDX per PTSC recommendations. 3.Validated Allflex prototype stationary transciever output using an Stationary transceiver device type and Adult ASCII data protocol filter. ================================================= Production Release 1.5.4 ================================================ 1. Added additional '384' manufacturers (country) code to installation for new type of tag codes. 2. Added formatting to the status report output of the FS1001M 2.1 firmware to support DELAY option on UNIQUE MODE setting. 3. MiniMon will delete any stale upload files left after a hard FTP connection abort. The stale files may prevent subsequent uploads. 4. Resolved file path issue when installing on x64 platforms. ================================================= Production Release 1.5.3 ================================================ NOTE: MiniMon supports only two firmware versions for the FS1001M devices: 1.7 and 2.1. 1.Upgraded to support FS1001M firmware version 2.1 with reformatted status report. Version 1.7 status report format was not changed. 2.Upgraded installer. ================================================= Production Release 1.5.1 ================================================ 1. Attemped to fix a permissions error that occasionally occurred when Vista Business operating system recovered from a hard shutdown. This error can still occur and is a known issue. 2. MiniMon will now install older MSXML3 files that will run on unsupported Win98 and WinME systems. After this release, PTAGIS will no longer support these platforms. ================================================= Production Release 1.5.0 ================================================ This is a minor release from version 1.4.16 and contains fixes listed below. This version is for general use at interrogation sites. It supports the latest device firmware to date (11/2007). The reason for the version hike is due to a conflict with a 'one-off' version of MiniMon for B2CC project. 1. Fixed a runtime 'divide by zero' error when obtaining system resource information from a Windows Vista platform. This runtime error occurred whenever the monitor was started or System Info menu command was run. 2. MM will now clean up the Temp subdirectory whenever an upload process fails. 3. Supply Voltage and Exciter Current status report values for FS1001M are no longer truncated to an integer and reported as a decimal value. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.16 ================================================ Release 1.4.15 did not include most of the listed fixes because the wrong version of a library was included in the installation. This version installs the correct version of the library (c:\windows\system32\xcvr.dll 1.1.0.25) and the listed fixes, most of which are related to compatibility issues with new firmware for the FS1001M and FS2001 readers. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.15 ================================================ 1. Fixed issue with status report for FS1001M devices that incorrectly reported the antenna identifiers; the assumption of the compressed status report for this device is that it always lists the details for each antenna in numerical order and is NOT dependant on the antenna sequence setting. 2.By default, 'Passive FTP Mode' for new MiniMon installations will be set to true. 3. Updated driver for new messages in FS2001 v5 firmware to avoid 'unknown data' messages in log file. 4.Fixed typo in the description of command for the FS1001M for setting Antenna Scan Time. 5.Updated driver for FS2001 ISO to support HDX tags output in FORM1. The tags will be converted to hexadecimal and include an HDX country code per PTAGIS specifications. For example: HDX.00087646AF. 6.Verified MiniMon is compatible with the latest FS1001M firware release 1.9.D. 7.Fixed bug that caused runtime error when selecting a device in the Commands window if user changed COM port of device using the Edit pop-up menu from the main window. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.11 ================================================ 1. Modified the maximum number of supported devices from 32 to 64 per Kennewick requirements for BO1 site. This limit was based upon the maximum number of devices we could test MiniMon with in our lab several years ago. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.10 ================================================ 1. Password encryption fix in 1.4.9 was for manual upload only and needed to be implemented for automated upload also. 2. Additional support for FS1001M 1.6 to allow noise reports generated from the reader to be incorporated in the data files that MiniMon produces. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.9 ================================================ 1. Bug fix for encryption of password used for uploading data to PTAGIS. This bug only occurs on new installations or if the password was reentered. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.8 ================================================ Upgraded MiniMon to support that latest version of FS1001M firmware (1.6) which includes: 1. Added AT{#} antenna scanning time to command list. 2. Added NRD{#} set noise report delay to command list. 3. Added NRS send noise report to command list. 4. Added SM{#} antenna sleep mode to command list. 5. Added additional fields to status report. Unrelated to FS1001M firmware: 6. Implemented data file versioning whenever files are archived using the simple, uncompressed archive method. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.7 ================================================ 1. Sending a remote command from MiniMon to any reader device (except FS1001M) using the ASCII protocol (maintenance port) could cause MiniMon to filter a valid tag message due to a prompt character being prepended to the tag message. This has been fixed in this release. 1. Added support for GPS serial devices that support NMEA-0183 protocol. See online help for more information. 2. Tag records in interrogation files will include the coil identifier in the check-sum field regardless if tag was submitted from a multiplexor device. This was at the request of PTSC. 3. Updated information on About window. 4.Device status messages will be tagged in both file and display as 'ALARM' instead of 'INFO' per request of Doug and Carter. See TTpro #486 for more information. 5. Added option in MiniMon configuration to allow millisecond output at the end of each tag record in an interrogation file. 6. Added 'PROGRAM VERSION' heading line into interrogation files. 7. Per request for security concerns, the PTTP user account name will not be automatically included with new installations. Users must make a request to PTAGIS to get the name of the account to submit data files. MiniMon will provide help on how to do this. 8. Updated online help. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.5 ================================================ 1. Slight modification to the FS1001M device driver to accomodate change in firmware for naming a status message ($SSR* to $MUX*). ================================================= Production Release 1.4.4 ================================================ 1. Passive FTP mode for MiniMon was not being set correctly in previous versions. Verified that Passive FTP mode is functioning. 2. Added syncronization logic to the upload process to avoid 20302 'Operation Interrupted' errors when network is unresponsive. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.3 ================================================ 1. Supressed duplicate status messages when uploading data using a dial-up connection with new PTTP upgrade. See TTPro#461 2. The status message window is sometimes too small to view upload diagnostic messages during a manual or test upload (automated uploads are displayed in main log window which can be resized). After upload has completed, user can scroll and dbl-click any diagnostic message to view the entire message in a pop-up box. 3. Added additional filter for FS-1001A to recognize 'Memory Full' alarm. Previous versions of MiniMon treated it as 'Unknown Data'. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.2 ================================================ 1. Added a new feature to allow an optional version number to be appended to interrogation file name. This setting is available under the General Configuration settings and can be a single digit number 0-9. 2. Removed BD (buffer download) and BE (buffer erase) commands for both Juvenile and Adult transceiver types. This was requested by PTOC to prevent accidental execution of these commands while in interrogation mode. 3. Removed commands P1 (baud rate), RI (reader id) and RP (reader reset parms) commands for ASCII protocols (COM1) only due to the inablity to automatically confirm these commands; they still exist for BPA protocol (COM2). The workaround to execute these commands remotely, is to right click the device on the Device Stats tab and select Terminal command. This will launch the Terminal Window which the commands can be manually typed in and confirmed by the user. WARNING - this device will be taken out of interrogation mode until the Terminal Window is closed. ================================================= Production Release 1.4.1 ================================================ 1. Expanded the range of Transciever (xcvr) ID's from 01-FE to 00-FF. 2. This version of MiniMon supports the Small-Stream Reader (SSR) which multiplexes two or more antennas. To configure a device, select FS1001 stationary device type with 'ASCII SSR Mux' filter. Baud Rate for this reader is fixed at 57600. Observation records in the interrogation file will contain Antenna ID in place of Coil ID; Coil ID has been moved to the CheckSum Field (XX). See TTPro #406 for additional information. 3. "Download Wizard" now supports SSR readers to generate interrogation files with stored observation and status records. See TTPro #406. 4. If any observation dates falls outside the given date range for creating an interrogation file, the 'Download Wizard' will warn the user when the download has completed. See TTPro #437. 5. MiniMon will verify a valid Site Code is entered before 'Download Wizard' can be run. See TTPro #395. 6. If the 'Data Submission TEST' option is on, any files uploaded via PTTP will be moved to TESTDATA. See TTPro #434 for detail. 7. Verified MiniMon supports Portable 2001F ISO readers and the reading of 10 character non-ISO tags (400 kHz, Avid). User must choose correct filter (ASCIIw/Timestamp) if 'Time Tag' setting on reader is set to yes; otherwise MiniMon will treat the tag as 'Unknown Data'. See TTPro #348. 8. 'Download Wizard' has an 'Append' option that allows a user to select an existing file to append to. If the selected file is an interrogation file, the FILE CLOSED line is overwritten with the time specified in the wizard; however, the original FILE TYPE, FILE TITLE and FILE CREATED lines are preserved in the selected interrogation file. See TTPro #438. ================================================= Production Release 1.3.9 ================================================ 1. Fixed unhandled error that upgrade to IPWorks 5 caused. The error would stop MiniMon/Uploader execution waiting for user to clear error. Now it is logged like all other errors. ================================================= Production Release 1.3.7 ================================================ 1. Added FTP Timeout Configuration Settings to allow user to adjust how long FTP client should wait until aborting an action. 2. Added better error handling to hopefully handle the MCJ hanging issue (refer to TTPro #431). ================================================= Production Release 1.3.5 ================================================ 1. Integrated production PTTP library into MiniMon. 2. Added Ping and Winsock diagnostic commands to 'Upload Settings'. 3. Upgraded IPWorks ActiveX controls to version 5. ================================================= Production Release 1.2.13 ================================================ 1. Solved a problem that would not allow MiniMon to download from a 2001F portable reader to a Windows 2K laptop. A command, when sent to a reader over serial line should be wrapped into control characters in the following way: Carriage Return + Linefeed + command + parameter + Carriage return The problematic call to the reader did not have a carriage return in the beginning of the command string. 2. Fixed Error -2147221231 bug. The program did not recognize incompatible device settings left in registry by previous installations of MiniMon. Now MiniMon deletes incompatible settings and the user can create and configure new devices. ================================================= Production Release 1.2.5 ================================================ 1. SLC500 device is added to support B1J flatplate. 2. Command Window now will close automatically when interrogation mode is turned off. 3. Command window now has an option of sending a command to all available readers. 4. KNOWN PROBLEM: If site code is not entered on General tab of Configuration while downloading from a device, download file will not be created. Enter a site code before downloading from a device. 5. Destron-Fearing 2001F-ISO has been tested and works with MiniMon. ================================================= Production Release 1.0.8x ================================================ 1. BUG FIX: xcvr id's of '0A' display as '00' in the remote command drop-down list due to a bug in the development environment. ================================================= Production Release 1.0.81 2/21/2002 ================================================ 1. Some remote commands need the user to confirm before they're completed, such as BE (buffer erase) and RP (reset parameters). Users will be prompted to confirm the execution of these commands. 2. RM{0|1} (reader master mode on/off) command is no longer supported in 3.9; removed from remote command list when Adult filters are selected. ================================================= Production Release 1.0.80 2/19/2002 ================================================ 1. Added new functionality to send remote commands to connected devices of both ASCII/BPA data protocols. The new feature is accessed by selecting the 'Remote Commands' command under the Tools menu. 2. In past versions, changes to the configuration settings from 'Manual' to 'Auto' upload did not occur until the next file change. Now any changes to the upload settings will occur immediately. 3. Changed the default settings for new devices to FS1001; BPA Protocol; 115k baud as requested. 4. Added additional error handling to Tag Report feature to detect when device configuration has changed. Previous versions would generate a runtime error if a particular device referenced in the source file did not exist. 5. Added support for Adult FS1001 3.9 firmware including additional remote commands, filters and the detection of the XCVR ID string in ASCII tag code messages. ================================================= Production Release 1.0.78 4/10/2001 ================================================ The following is a list of fixes for this release. 1. MiniMon uses a list of country codes found in the system registry to validate tag codes. In prior versions, only the ASCII protocol used this list for validation. In this version, the country code validation list has been expanded to the BPA protocol. Previously, BPA protocol would only validate 3D9 and 348 country codes per specification. 2. Test Tag country code has been changed from decimal 999 to hexidecimal 3E7. 3. MiniMon will detect incompatible device configurations, delete them from the system registry and warn the user to reconfigure their device configuration. ================================================= Production Release 1.0.76 3/28/2001 ================================================ *** This version requires a complete uninstall/reinstall of MiniMon and reconfiguration of all devices. In addition, it also requires an additional registry edit to remove existing device configurations after uninstalling the previous version of MiniMon: 1. start REGEDIT 2. Open the following key: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\ MiniMon\Device Configuration 3. Remove any existing device configurations listed under this key. The following is a list of fixes for this release. 1. Modified XCVR.DLL to overwrite configured XCVRID in MiniMon with XCVRID passed via data messages from device operating in BPA mode. Tag data has alway overwritten this value. ================================================= Production Release 1.0.75 3/22/2001 ================================================ The following is a list of enhancements for this release. 1. A FTP Passive checkbox was added to the upload configuration settings. This new setting turns FTP Passive mode on/off. Passive mode is useful if connecting from behind a firewall, however it does cause compatibility problems with some networks (Starband). 2. The maximum number of devices has been increased from 16 to 32. Due to hardware constraints MiniMon was tested with 16 devices; the change was made for experimental test at LMJ site. Please contact PTAGIS first if you need to connect to more than 16 devices. ================================================ Production Release 1.0.74 1/02/2001 ================================================ The following is a list of bug fixes and enhancements for this release. 1.MiniMon was generating invalid file names. MiniMon obtains the julian date from the OS, which does not pad the filename with zeros. MiniMon will now detect julian dates with 3 characters and zero pad them. ================================================ Production Release 1.0.73 8/30/2000 ================================================ The following is a list of bug fixes and enhancements for this release. 1. When MiniMon changes interrogation files, it buffers any incoming data while the file is changed. A bug was detected that when the buffered data was written to the newly open file, it didn't add a line feed character. This has been fixed in this version. ================================================ Production Release 1.0.72 8/2/2000 ================================================ The following is a list of bug fixes and enhancements for this release. 1. MiniMon was enhanced to detect open data file so they will not be incorporated in the upload. It already verified this by not including the active file (hidden and temporary), however for compatibility purposes with PTTP client, this extra test was added. ================================================ Production Release 1.0.71 8/2/2000 ================================================ The following is a list of bug fixes and enhancements for this release. Bug Fixes 1. There was a reported case of MiniMon mistakenly submitting live data as test data to PTAGIS. This problem could not be reproduced, however, a internal modification to the internal upload process was updated to remove unused features that may have caused this problem. 2. When the user changes the Upload configuration from the Manual Upload dialog, any changes will take effect immediately on an auto-upload process. Before this change, interrogation process had to be restarted for the changes to take effect. 3. Site Name in the configuration dialog is now forced to upper case characters only. Enhancements 1. Added a Sync Delay Period feature on the Upload configuration dialog. This value (0-900) represents the number of seconds the upload process will be delayed if the synchronize to the hour option is selected. This feature was added to facilitate the synchronization of the upload process with interrogation file change. ================================================ Production Release 1.0.70 6/20/2000 ================================================ This is the first production release of MiniMon. Presently, there are no known issues with this version of the software. Please contact PTOC (503) 650-5400 immediately if any problems arise. There is one change from Beta Version 1.0.69: a minor bug fix for compressing archive files. If a file path contained a space, nothing was archived. This has been fixed in version 1.0.70. See Online Help for more information about this program.
