3/11/2003 1/1/2004 The PIT tag detectors were activated in each of the three adult ladders at RIS on 3/11/03. This is the first year of PIT tag detection in the RIS ladders. The initial configuration for 2003 includes four interrogation coils in the submerged orifices of two adjacent weirs in the left (East) ladder, a single coil (07) in one weir orifice in the middle ladder, and another single coil (09) in the right (West) ladder. Two more coils are suspended in air in the middle and right ladders, and will be used to monitor ambient noise. The middle ladder was dewatered for maintenance between Aug. 25 and Sept. 4, 2003. The RIA computer platform was disabled between Nov. 19 and Dec. 10 so the equipment could be relocated. The transceivers remained operational, so that any PIT tag data could be offloaded at a later date. The middle ladder was dewatered between December 8, 2003 and March 4, 2004 for annual maintenance.
1/1/2004 1/1/2005 The left (East?) ladder was dewatered between Jan. 13-27, 2004 for annual maintenance. The right (West?) ladder was dewatered between Jan. 27 and March 1, 2004 for annual maintenance. The middle ladder was dewatered between Dec. 8, 2003 and March 4, 2004 for annual maintenance. The left fishway at Rock Island was dewatered on 13 December 2004 and watered back up on 6 January, 2005. The middle fishway was dewatered on 13 December 2004 and watered back up on 15 December 2004.
1/1/2005 1/1/2006 The left fishway at Rock Island was dewatered on December 13, 2004 and watered back up on January 6, 2005. The left fishway was dewatered again on March 4 and watered back up on March 14. The middle fishway was dewatered on January 4 and watered back up on January 20. The right fishway was dewatered on January 21 and watered back up on March 3. The left ladder was again dewatered on December 5, 2005. The middle ladder was dewatered on December 27, 2005.

1/1/2007 1/1/2008 The right bank ladder, which was dewatered on Dec. 3, 2006 for annual inspection and maintenance, watered-up again on Jan. 9, 2007. On the same day, the middle ladder was dewatered for its annual inspection. There is no report of when the middle ladder returned to service; the next tag detection in that ladder was on March 18, 2007. The right ladder was again dewatered on December 3, 2007.
1/1/2008 1/1/2009 The right fish ladder at RIS was dewatered for annual maintenance between Dec. 3, 2007 and Feb. 28, 2008. The middle fish ladder was dewatered between January 2-28, 2008. The left ladder was dewatered from December 1-30, 2008. The right ladder was again dewatered on Dec. 3, 2008.
1/1/2009 1/1/2010 The right ladder at Rock Island Dam was dewatered on Dec. 3, 2008. The middle lader was dewatered on Feb. 4. The right ladder watered up during the first week of February, but the PIT tag detectors were not activated until Feb. 12. The middle ladder watered up on March 2, but the PIT tag detectors were not activated until March 4. The right ladder was dewatered on Dec. 10, 2009.
1/1/2010 1/1/2011 The right fish ladder was de-watered from Dec. 10, 2009 until Feb. 26, 2010 for winter maintenance. The middle ladder was dewatered between Jan. 18 and Feb. 9. The left ladder was dewatered between Feb. 10-19; however, the transceivers were not activated until Feb. 24.
