WW2 - SF Walla Walla at Bear Creek

The WW2 PIT interrogation site is located on the South Fork Walla Walla River approximately 21 kilometers upstream from the confluence with the North Fork Walla Walla River. The site consists of two pass over HDPE antennas that overlap to cover the full wetted width of the river immediately upstream from the Bear Creek confluence. A IS1001 Master Controller and two IS1001 nodes are powered by a thermoelectric generator.

2004 1/1/2004 1/1/2005 Interrogation was interrupted between 1/22/04 14:00 and 1/25/04 16:00 for computer repairs. No data are available between 2/09/04 20:00 and 2/12/04 18:07. No data are available between 3/23/04 12:00 and 3/25/04 17:43. Computer files were generated, but no transceiver data were collected between 7/11/04 4:52 and 7/19/04 20:00.
2005 1/1/2005 1/1/2006 The site was down from 9/1/05 at 14:23 to 11/18/05 at 13:42. Propane could not be refilled because of site inaccessibility as result of trail closures due to a forest fire.
2006 1/1/2006 1/1/2007 The site was down from 1/4/06 at 12:00 to 1/19/06 at 12:15; site ran out of propane. 03/08/2006 at 13:40 to 03/17/2006 at 16:57 - Site down because propane ran out. 04/25/2006 at 09:00 and 04/26/2006 12:57 - Site down because propane ran out.
2007 1/1/2007 1/1/2008 Although data files were submitted, the MUX was not working between Jan. 18 and Feb. 11, so no detection data were collected during this interval. No data were collected between 11:40 am on 9/15/07 and 6:44 am on 9/19/07.
2008 1/1/2008 1/1/2009 No data were collected between 10mar08 and 12mar08 or 15apr08 and 18apr08 due to power outages. Antenna 01 was washed out on May 14, and antenna 02 was washed out on May 16. Both antennas were reinstalled on August 26. The MUX was OOS between 11/29/08 22:20 and 12/02/08 13:00 because the propane tank ran dry; no detection data were collected during this interval.
2009 1/1/2009 1/1/2010 The site experienced frequent and extended power outages between March 23 and April 7. Antenna #2 blew out on April 13. Between July 4-8 the site operated only during the day, when the solar panels could work. The MUX failed on July 9 and was not replaced until July 30.
2010 1/1/2010 1/1/2011 No data were collected between Oct. 30 and Nov. 4 due to a power outage.
2011 1/1/2011 1/1/2012 Data collection was suspended on Jan. 16 due to high flows, and did not resume until September 28.

2013 1/1/2013 1/1/2014 Site down April 12 - August 1. Only Antenna 2 in operation after August 1. Site down September 10-14, October 16-24, November 26-28.
