EVENT LOG FOR SITE AB1 (Abernathy Creek FWS Tech Cntr.) Most recent activity to be listed first. First line of each entry lists date, time and who is reporting. Subsequent lines of each entry aligned under Time column. Do not use tabs, only spaces. Date Time Who What ---------- ----- -------- ----------------------------------------------- 12/26/2001 13:03 darren@p A1:ExcessiveNoise,A1:LowExcCurrent,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise,A3: LowExcCurrent: It appears that all alarms were generated by site personnel doing maintenance work to coils. . 12/18/2001 11:25 Scott_Li Site Bio. Gayle reports that the internet connection for this site has been disabled by the dept. of the Interior for unknown reasons and no word on when it will be re-established. Maybe sometime after the first of the year. Informed Gayle that she could use the Starband system to upload files from AB1 and AB2 in the interim. 12/02/2001 17:46 darren@p A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: I Believe that these alarms are being caused by the fact that coils A2 and A3 are not quite nulled. They will need to be nulled before the noise will go away. . 11/29/2001 15:07 Scott_Li The PTTP client has been restarted on these computers. 11/27/2001 09:08 Scott_Li The PTTP client has been disabled until Thursday , Nov. 29 01. 11/26/2001 08:33 Darren_C I spoke with Dee at the Abernathy facility today. He confirmed that there are (2) new coils at the facility (AB1) and they are starting work on the remote sight (AB2) today and may have it up and running by tomorrow (11-27-01). They are having trouble nulling the coils. I will need to go to the remote sight and load some patch software for the satellite modem. I don't know when this will be. 11/26/2001 08:03 darren@p A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: These alarms may be generated by the fact that the new coils that were added are not nulled. I will call Gayle to verify. . 11/25/2001 17:39 darren@p A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: These alarms are being caused by the new coils. It appears that they may need to be properly nulled. I will talk with Gayle on monday to verify. . 11/24/2001 12:15 darren@p A1:BadExcFreq,A1:BadOscFreq,A1:ExcessiveNoise,A1:LowExcCurrent,A2:Excessiv eNoise,A2:LowExcCurrent,A3:ExcessiveNoise,A3:LowExcCurrent: Alarms were generated by facility personnel doing work on the coils. It looks like there is new coils in place but they may need to be nulled. I will e-mail Gayle and find out when they expect the remote facility to back on line. . 11/16/2001 13:17 darren@p A1:BadExcFreq,A1:BadOscFreq,A1:ExcessiveNoise,A1:LowExcCurrent,A2:BadExcFr eq,A2:BadOscFreq,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A2:LowExcCurrent,A3:ExcessiveNoise: The alarms on coils A1 and A2 were generated when the coils broke loose from the bridge. There is only one coil left in operation at the site and that is coil A3. The site is in the process of being rebuilt. . 11/08/2001 08:51 darren@p A1:ExcessiveNoise,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: Ther was a tag that was found at approxiamatly 6 p.m. but it does not explain the noise seen at 11:30 p.m. This noise is being graphed to find if there is any pattern. . 11/07/2001 08:21 darren@p A1:ExcessiveNoise,A1:LowExcCurrent,A2:BadOscFreq,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A2:LowE xcCurrent,A3:BadExcFreq,A3:BadOscFreq,A3:ExcessiveNoise,A3:LowExcCurrent: Most of these alarms were generated while PSMFC and Destron-Fearing personnel were performing maintenance on monitoring equipment. . 11/04/2001 16:28 carters@ A1:ExcessiveNoise,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A2:LowExcCurrent,A3:ExcessiveNoise,A3: LowExcCurrent: This is a test. . 10/29/2001 08:05 darren@p A1:ExcessiveNoise,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: Noise alarm is possibly due to enviromental surroundings. Options are being looked at for minimizing noise. . 10/26/2001 08:13 darren@p A1:ExcessiveNoise,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: I will check "raw" files to ensure that there is either a tag in the feild or we really have a noise problem. I will also call Gayle and see what she is or has done with the middle transceiver. . 10/25/2001 08:18 darren@p A1:ExcessiveNoise,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: After talking with Sean Casey at Destron-Fearing it has been determined that the noise is being generated by a Pittag fish that has taken residence near the coils. He is not close enough to read but is generating noise on the end coil. This noise is transposing itself to the other coils as well. This is going to be a problem that may or may not be addressed by Gayle Zydlewski at the Abernathy Facility. We will be keeping a close eye on this as the first season continues. Changes may have to be made for the future of detections in the stream. . 10/24/2001 10:36 darren@p A1:ExcessiveNoise,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: Icannot explain the uprise in noise I will contact Sean Casey from Destron-Fearing to find out what state these transceivers were in when he left the facility on friday 10-19-01. I will also contact Gayle Zydlewski from Abernathy and find out what is going on at the facility. . 10/22/2001 08:14 darren@p A1:ExcessiveNoise,A1:LowExcCurrent,A2:ExcessiveNoise,A3:ExcessiveNoise: Alarms were caused while Destron-Fearing was performing some maintenance on the coils and transceivers. . 10/19/2001 06:27 darren@p A1:BadExcFreq,A1:BadOscFreq,A1:ExcessiveNoise,A1:LowExcCurrent,A2:Excessiv eNoise,A2:LowExcCurrent,A3:ExcessiveNoise,A3:LowExcCurrent,A3:TestTagFailu re: Alarms may have been generated by Destron-Fearing personnel. It appears that someone was working with the transceiver. The excessive noise alarms are caused by cresting the threshold. We may see this alarm quite frequently. These units have a special analog board that causes them to be a little more susceptible to noise. Destron-Fearing is currently working on these transceivers. . 10/17/2001 14:03 WE1 Switched MiniMon to Manual Upload mode in preparation for server maintenance. 10/17/2001 14:03 Dave Switched MiniMon to Manual Upload mode in preparation for server maintenance. 10/17/2001 14:03 Scott_Li The PTTP uploader is now in manual upload only until further notice. 09/26/2001 11:15 Dave Manually created new event log for 2001. ####End of Event Log for AB1###
