EVENT LOG FOR SITE B2A Most recent activity to be listed first. First line of each entry lists date, time and who is reporting. Subsequent lines of each entry aligned under Time column. Do not use tabs, only spaces. Date Time Who What ---------- ----- -------- ----------------------------------------------- 12/03/2002 14:30 Dave The B2A and BWL sites have been decommissioned.  The Bonneville Washington Shore ladder is currently dewatered for annual maintenance. The PIT tag detection equipment in the ladder and within the Adult Fish Facility has been deactivated.  The coil sets from these two sites will be combined into the common 'BO3' site, which will become active when the Washington Shore ladder waters up on December 23. 12/03/2002 13:18 Scott_Li Per Don Warf, all BWL transceivers were shut off at 10:04 am pst. The last interrogation file was closed at ~10:15 am pst and sent to PTAGIS. The interrogation computers were then turned off and will be brought back to Kennewick for reconfiguration. B2A transceivers were turned off at ~10:17 am pst. the last interrogation file was closed at 10:20 am pst and was sent to PTAGIS. Computers were turned off and are also being brought back to the kennewick office. The BWL ladder was dewatered at ~0900 pst. 10/28/2002 09:55 Dave pcA'd into all operating Multimon sites and re-initialized Multimon open/close periods on both PCs. This operation is necessary due to Multimon's reliance on an internal timer and Window's refusal to fully ignore the jump to/from DST. 10/04/2002 09:16 dlwarf@p A4:ReaderReset,A5:InputSyncDetect,A5:InputSyncLost: Reader reset on A4. 09/18/2002 17:33 Dave Per request, I updated the B2A database to B2A02261.DB. The new version contains 19,784 codes for BY1999 YIN coho, in AC-48 (UICOHO). I appended these codes to the existing BY2000 coho list. The combined AC-48 group now totals 39,726 tags, all of which will continue to trip the "red light" on detection. 09/17/2002 08:06 darren@p A4:ReaderReset,A5:InputSyncDetect,A5:InputSyncLost: Alarms were generated by a random reader reset. 09/05/2002 12:04 darren@p A5:InputSyncDetect,A5:ReaderReset: Alarm was caused by a random reader reset. 09/03/2002 11:00 Dave Last Friday afternoon, I updated the B2A database to B2A02242.DB; this version contains an additional 200 tags in the X-TAGS group (AC-47). As the "yellow-light" action is already defined for this AC, there was no need to update the site's map file. 08/26/2002 10:27 Dave Updated the database to B2A02238.DB, containing an additional 1500 tags assigned to AC-44 (B2ANEW). The map file (B2A02214.MAP) already contains the "yellow light" definition for AC-44; there was no need to update the map file. 08/21/2002 08:57 darren@p A4:ReaderReset,A5:InputSyncDetect,A5:ReaderReset,B4:ReaderReset,B5:InputSy ncDetect,B5:ReaderReset: Alarms were caused by a power outage. 08/20/2002 16:06 Scott_Li Tammy Mackey COE Bio. @ Bonneville called to report a scheduled power outage that will occur tonight around 2000 hrs for a duration of ~ 1/2 hr. If this outage does not occur tonight , then it will be rescheduled for tomorrow morning ~ 0800 hrs for the same duration of time. 08/02/2002 17:27 Dave Updated database and map to B2A02114 DB and MAP, respectively. The database contains 19,942 new tags in AC-48, returning YIN coho, labeled as UICOHO. The revised map provides a "Red Light" instruction for any detected AC-48 tag. 08/01/2002 16:12 Dave I updated the database and map files to B2A02113.DB and B2A02113.MAP, respectively. The database contains 100 new X-TAGS (AC-47) codes for U of I's evaluation of the super tag. The map file includes a "Yellow Light" diversion action for these tag codes. 06/25/2002 12:50 Dchase I am on site and I checked B2A for loading and the files were loaded at 06:00. I will check BVX as well but iam sure that those files were sent as well. 06/17/2002 13:26 Don_Warf Visited sites for a general maint. check and found no problems. 05/16/2002 16:42 Dave Updated database to B2A02136.DB. This version contains 60534 fewer AC-41 tags than the previous version. This reflects the removal of Nez Perce chinook from the AC-41 group, per the request of Dr. Chris Peery. The clocks on the B2A PCs are within 14 seconds of each other and 54 seconds of "real" time. BTW, I noticed a little weirdness with the B2A-PC2 pcA connection. On the first connection attempt there was a little hesitation before the connection was made; the full-screen DOS box appeared briefly, followed by a black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner. I left this for ~15 seconds before killing the session and immediately reconnecting. This second connection was made immediately, the full DOS screen appeared immediately, and I had no further problems with the session. I had no problems with the B2A-PC1 session, running concurrently. 05/10/2002 13:36 Anthony On 5/7/02 I replaced mounting bolts on all transceivers at sites B2A, B2J, and BWL. 05/06/2002 11:06 Scott_Li Set the file submission frequency to upload 4 times per day. 05/03/2002 09:53 Scott_Li Changed the number of files generated per day to 4 on both primary and backup computers at 0850pst. 05/01/2002 19:55 Dave I updated the database and map files to B2A02121.DB and B2A02121.MAP, respectively. The database contains 284 tags with Action Code 45 (JACKS). These are associated with jack chinook tagged by Kyong Yi, to be intercepted by U of I. AC-45 is mapped to a "yellow" alert. 04/24/2002 09:34 darren@p A4:LowExcCurrent,A5:LowExcCurrent,B4:LowExcCurrent,B4:ReaderReset,B4:TestT agFailure,B5:InputSyncDetect,B5:InputSyncLost,B5:TestTagFailure: These alarms were generated by PTOC personnel while performing maintenance tests on transceivers. 04/24/2002 09:27 Dchase The Data collection platforms at each site now have the UPS's on the collection PC's. Also the transceivers have been changed so that all Adult transceivers will now send status reports every 720 minutes and will not display noise reports. The Juvenile transceivers were set to 720 minutes on the status reports. There was an oversight at B2A when the UPS's were installed in that PTTP was not restarted. It was started remotely and is now up and running. 04/23/2002 11:59 darren@p B4:TestTagFailure,B5:InputSyncDetect,B5:InputSyncLost,B5:TestTagFailure: These alarms were generated by personnel doing site maintenance. 04/21/2002 10:17 dlwarf@p B4:LowExcCurrent,B4:TestTagFailure: This will be checked on the next visit. 04/20/2002 10:36 scottl_l Noticed that coil 14 did not fire the timer tag and has not detected any fish either. Situation will be addressed on the next site visit, the week of 4/22, probably Tuesday. 04/19/2002 10:44 Darren_C Maintenance was performed on the timer tags for the 400 Khz coils 10,12, and 14. I repositioned the timer tags and fired each one. The timer tag on coil 14 was not in the ignor. tag file but was added on both PC's. I tried to update the ignor.tag files on FTP but was unable to locate the file. 04/15/2002 13:37 Dave I copied the ignor.tag file, updated locally by Darren on 3/28/02, from B2A-PC2 to the PSMFC FTP server. 04/11/2002 11:31 Carter Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2002 11:22:26 -0700 From: "Todd Kaehler" To: Carter Stein , Don Warf , Scott Livingston CC: Willy Kelly Remembering back a month or so when someone at Bonneville configured a PC and used the IP address of one of the production PCs causing it to go offline... and I said I would write a script to monitor the Internet ARP requests to catch this in the future. Well I was almost done when I realized that Linux comes with a program called "arpwatch" which does just what we want. I have turned on arpwatch on "sturgeon" (the Linux/Sparc 5 in the AFF). It is configured at the moment so Willy and I get any changes to the ARP cache at the Bonneville LAN. We will report any suspicious changes to the LAN. --Todd 04/11/2002 09:24 Dave Yesterday (April 10) I stopped and restarted data collection on both B2A-PC1 and B2A-PC2, in order to resync data file creation and file transmission. 04/06/2002 08:37 darren@p A5:InputSyncDetect,A5:ReaderReset,B4:ReaderReset,B5:InputSyncDetect: Alarms that occurred at 03:41 were caused by a random reader reset. The other alarms were caused by PSMFC personnel replacing a transceiver on coil B4. 04/05/2002 13:05 Don_Warf Found coil B4 dead due to blown power fuse in FS1001. Checked coil for ground faults. None found. Checked AC outlet proper wiring. No problems found. Replaced FS1001 and was back online at 13:00. 04/01/2002 11:31 Dave Updated the database and map files to reference U of I's groups (Action Codes 41-44). Change occurred at 10:48 AM, with data file B2A02091.205. Also synchronized both clocks. 03/31/2002 12:31 dlwarf@p B5:InputSyncLost: Alarm will be investigated on the next visit (4/4/02). 03/28/2002 08:52 Darren_C I could not get the timer tag on coil 12 to fire and the timer tag on coil 14 had fallen away from the coil. The timer tag on coil 14 was registered but the tag on coil 12 was not. The tag codes are 0B0B0B0DOE, 0B0B0B0E04. The ignor.tag files on both PC's were modified to reflect this change. 03/28/2002 08:41 darren@p B4:ReaderReset,B4:TestTagFailure,B5:InputSyncDetect,B5:InputSyncLost: The alarms related to the Reader resets and Input Sync Lost are related to the random reader resets. The timer tag on B4 just did not fire. I do not have a reason but it has been firing since. 03/22/2002 16:59 Carter_S Chris, Could you have your people that work at the Bonneville AFF send an email message To: pitevent@pittag.org with a Subject: B2A nameofperson (where name of person is the person's name that is sending the report) when they operate the trap at the AFF... They could indicate here when the picket fence is down, up or otherwise, and we could correlate activity to the PIT tag data collection. The 'community' would find it helpful, and so would we! Thanks for your assistance. --Carter 03/12/2002 09:10 darren@p A4:LowExcCurrent,A5:LowExcCurrent,B4:LowExcCurrent: Alarms were generated by PSMFC personnel. They were performing site maintenance on all coils. 03/12/2002 08:08 Scott_Li Site interrogation computers have been upgraded to Multimon 8.02. Stick tested 400Khz coils and 134.2Khz . ISO detected 10 of 10 stick tags, 400Khz detected 4 of 4. Only 4 sticks were thrown thru the monitors due to low water conditions in the flume. Sticks were getting stuck in the flume and were not easily flushed out. System is online for the season... 03/06/2002 15:39 Carter_S Timer tag associate 0B0B070404 was removed from B2A coil 10. 02/28/2002 13:08 darren@p B4:ReaderReset,B5:InputSyncDetect,B5:InputSyncLost: Alarm was generated by a random reader reset. This problem is being addressed by PTOC personnel. 02/12/2002 08:13 darren@p A4:ReaderReset,A5:InputSyncDetect,A5:InputSyncLost: Alarms were generated by PTOC personnel while performing site maintenance on transceiver A4. Unit was replaced and Timer tag is firing. 02/11/2002 07:59 darren@p B5:InputSyncDetect,B5:ReaderReset: The alarm was generated by a random reader reset. This problem will be addressed by PTOC personnel this season at MCJ as a test. It will be implemented system wide when deemed to a fix. 02/05/2002 08:30 darren@p B4:TestTagFailure,B5:TestTagFailure: The test tag on coil B5 was aborted due to system activity but was able to fire it's timer tag $B5 MESSAGE: Single-shot test with Test Tag. 02/02/05 02:43:11 |00 B5 02/02/05 02:43:11 3D9.0EEEEEE1B8 Ignore| 55428 $B5 MESSAGE: Test Tag Found. 02/02/05 02:43:11.I will check for coil B4 timer tag in a later file. We will keep an eye on this for further failures. 02/04/2002 12:29 Dave I pcA'd into B2A-PC2 and retrieved the backup files for the period 14:21 - 18:00 on Feb 3. These backfill the hole left in the PC1 dataset after that machine rebooted. I moved and zipped all the 2001 data into a new 2001-Archive directory. I moved all the current data into the Archive directory. Multimon generally does this automatically at the end of the month. I noticed that the PC2 data files got "stuck" on January 16, and that only three files had been generated since then, until the power loss and reboot apparently jogged the software back into normal operation. I pcA'd into B2A-PC1 and verified the correct filing of data since the beginning of this year. As with PC2, moved and zipped the 2001 archive data into a new 2001-Archive directory. 02/04/2002 10:43 Scott_Li PCA'd into pc1 and found that it had rebooted and PTTP loader was not running because it's not in the start group. Corrected situation and manually sent data files to PTAGIS. Renamed duplicate files to add an X to the end of the extension and copied to the Archive dir. 01/23/2002 11:05 Carter_S The file: http://www.pittag.org/maint_op/timer_tags/counts/cf_count.02023.2 shows that the A2 coil spitting out time stamp but no timer tag firing... ####End of Event Log for B2A###
