Date Time Who What -------- ----- -------- ----------------------------------------------- 11/14/2000 08:50 Carter_S Turned off check_submits flag for b2j & bvx. 11/13/2000 16:09 Scott_Li The data collection computers have been removed from this facility as of 11/9/00 and brought to PTOC- Kennewick office for rework and re-deployment. Also, The trancievers have been removed from the enclosures and stored in the Pittag room at the facility alon with the test tag cables and transmission lines. The fiber optics are still in the enclosures and will be removed at the time of the encloure replacement with PTOC monitoring this retro fit. 11/02/2000 08:24 Darren_C The PC1 computer was rebooted because of a Winsock error in Mailer. When I tried to reset mailer I kept getting "another version of mailer is running" I then had to reboot the computer. When it came up I pushed the button on mailer. 11/01/2000 16:41 Dave SMP personnel report the Bonneville Dam Second Powerhouse Juvenile Fish Facility ended its seasonal smolt sampling/monitoring activities at 0700h on October 31. This is also the end of the 2000 PIT tag interrogation season at B2J. 10/23/2000 07:35 Dave With no data files sent since Friday AM, I LLed into PC1 last night to find an "SMTP: Winsock error in recv()" error in Mailer. Tried a manual download, without success. This morning I LLed back in and closed Mailer. When I tried to re-initialize Mailer, I got a "Copy of Mailer already running" alert. Had to close MM and reboot machine. LLed in one last time, and initiated a manual xfer from Mailer. This appears to be successful, with a transfer rate of 1 file/4 minutes. This session should retrieve files B2J00294.102-297.101. 10/06/2000 08:26 darren@p 81:ReaderReset,82:InputSyncDetect,82:InputSyncLost: These alarms were generated by a random reader reset on coil 81. This problem is still being addressed by Destron-Fearing and PTOC personnel. 09/29/2000 13:53 Darren_C On Thursday 9-28-00 I changed the Rocketport priorities from High to Low for all coils except for the Separators. I then posted them on the ftp server under the appropriate folder. 09/20/2000 08:33 Darren_C I Tried to Laplink into PC2 yesterday (8-19-00) but was not successful. I went down to find out what the problem was. When I arrived I found that the modem on PC2 was hung it appeared that the modem did not hang up correctly when I laplinked into it the first time. The Computer was rebooted and laplink was tested to ensure that there were no problems. While I was there a Performed a General Maintenance Check. Transceivers were checked for Noise and Current. No sticks were thrown on the separator because the air has been turned off to the 3-way gate and the tanks have no water in them. They are still sampling 6 times an hour. I forgot to change the priorities of the Rocketports but we can do this remotely. 09/19/2000 11:17 Don_Warf Laplinked into PC1 to find Mailer stopped with a comms error. Restarting Mailer would not clear the error. Rebooted the PC at 8:35. I then Laplinked back in and successfully sent files using the manual-send button. 09/05/2000 08:03 darren@p A3:InputSyncDetect,A3:ReaderReset: This alarm was caused by a random reader reset. This problem is being tested at MCJ. If the problem is solved we implement the fix system wide. 08/28/2000 16:28 Dave Backfilled hole in data collection with B2J00231.103-104. 08/24/2000 08:02 darren@p 92:InputSyncDetect,92:ReaderReset,93:InputSyncDetect,93:InputSyncLost: 92:InputSyncDetect,92:ReaderReset,93:InputSyncDetect,93:InputSyncLost: The input sync lost on coil 93 was caused by the reader reset on coil 92. This problem is being addressed by PTOC personnel. 08/24/2000 08:01 darren@p 92:InputSyncDetect,92:ReaderReset,93:InputSyncDetect,93:InputSyncLost: The input sync lost on coil 93 was caused by the reader reset on coil 92. This problem is being addressed by PTOC personnel. 08/23/2000 08:15 Darren_C A General Maintenance Check was performed. All transceivers were checked for noise and current. Sticks were tested on the separator monitor and the 3-way gate and the west sample tank all had 100 0.000000e+00fficiency. 08/22/2000 08:51 darren@p 92:InputSyncDetect,92:ReaderReset,93:InputSyncDetect,93:InputSyncLost: Input sync lost on coil 93 was generated by the reader reset on coil 92. This problem is being addressed by Destron-Fearing and PSMFC personnel. 07/14/2000 16:12 Dave Installed new SbyC database and map files (B2J00196.db & .map, respectively). These files address the U of I fall chinook study. 07/14/2000 15:29 scott_li A controlled shutdown of the data collection computers was performed at 0850 hrs PST 7/14/00 by SMP. This was done to accommodate the scheduled power outage by the COE. The computers were brought back on line at 0907 hrs PST 7/14/00. Verified with Dean Ballinger that data collection had resumed. 07/13/2000 16:23 scott_li Dean ballinger called and the scheduled power outage was cancelled for today and was re-scheduled for sometime tomorrow. He will call prior to the outage so that PTOC can perform another controlled shutdown and restart. Data collection resumed at ~ 1510 hrs 7/13/00. 07/13/2000 15:34 scottl A controlled shutdown on the data collection computers was performed at 14:25 hrs (PST)7/13/00. Power will be lost to the facility for a brief period to replace a circuit breaker. Bruce Mills to call when power is restored in order to ensure all data collection processes are initialized and operating. 07/05/2000 08:02 darren@p 92:InputSyncDetect,92:ReaderReset,93:InputSyncDetect,93:InputSyncLost: The Reader reset caused the Input sync lost on coil 93. The reader rest problem is being addressed by Destron-Fearing. 06/29/2000 08:22 Darren_C I spoke with Bill Meyers from Bonneville today about the fish totals from day 180. He said that Lyle Gilbrath is tagging fish and then releasing them above the facility to evaluate the facility. They are manually rotating the 3-way gate to get fish to tag and then releasing them so that is why the totals were high for the coils E1,E2. Bill said that we may see this again tomorrow. 06/21/2000 09:37 Darren_C A General maintenance check was performed. No problems were found. Test sticks were thrown on the separator. Efficiencies were 1000n all coils. 06/20/2000 08:14 darren@p 92:InputSyncDetect,92:ReaderReset: Transceiver 92 had a random reader reset. The transceiver seemed to reset after the timer tag fired. This problem is under investigation by Destron-Fearing. 06/19/2000 09:02 Darren_C The reason for the drop in fish totals from sunday to monday is because the usage of powerhouse2 has dropped off. According to Dean Ballinger there is minimal flow through powerhouse2 because there is no need for usage. This may be like this for a while. 06/13/2000 08:49 Don_Warf Visited site for a general maintenance check and found no problems. Ran sticks on the Separator and West SbyC Tank monitors with 100 0.000000e+00fficiency. 06/09/2000 18:10 Dave Damn! I created and submitted data file B2J00152.902, only to find that it provides almost entirely redundant data to the records in B2J00152.103. Sorry about that. 06/07/2000 15:41 Darren_C A GMC was performed. 20 sticks were thrown on the separator with a coil efficiency of 1000n the Separator and West SbyC Tank. 06/01/2000 08:28 scott_li Site did not load during the last load period. The Mailer.ini file had been corrupted. X's were written to the i/p dialog box. This problem was thought to have been fixed with Mailer ver. 3.0a. Do to the infrequency in which this problem occurs, it will not be reported to PNNL/NMFS for a bug fix. Other options hopefully will soon be available. 06/01/2000 08:17 Darren_C Tuesday May 30, 2000 - Scott and I went to investigate a possible communications failure. The 3-way gate was not diverting fish. When we arrived we found that there was no power to a line driver between the computers and the PLC which led us to the breaker panel where we discovered a breaker that had been tripped. We tried to reset the breaker. We found that the breaker may be faulty. We moved the line driver power to another outlet and established operation. We will replace the breaker on another visit. We think that the tewst button on the GFI breaker may be faulty. 05/31/2000 12:46 Dave Due to the SLC 500 error on 5/29, the current SbyC action for UofI diverted far fewer fish than anticipated. After the SLC circuit was repaired, I traveled to B2J and installed a new map file, B2J00151.MAP. This new map contains two modifications to DU#3, referencing "CSS-UI#3"; I modified the second collection date range from one day (155) to two days (154-155), and I modified the limits from a daily to a range total of 17 fish per AC. I also modified DU#4 "CSS-UI#4", similarly extending the sampling period to 48-hrs, and setting the range limit to 17 fish. The new map file also contains the new DU#10, entitled "CSS-UI#3B". I enabled SP7 to collect up to 17 fish per AC over a 21-hour period ending at noon (PDT) today, in order to "make up" the data loss from the previous day. This new SP worked until I (quite literally) walked out the door, at which time it mysteriously terminated itself. NMFS/Battelle are looking at the issue. Prior to aborting its operation, DU#10 diverted about 18-20 of the expected 50+ target fish into the collection tank. 05/31/2000 08:05 darren@p SLC500:CommsFailure: SLC comms failure was repaired by PTOC personnel. 05/30/2000 07:39 darren@p SLC500:CommsFailure: SLC Comms failure will be addressed by PTOC personnel today. 05/29/2000 17:37 scott_l Laplinked into Primary computer. Varified Map file and manual toggle functions in order to determine state of the diversion gate. From what I could see everthing is configured properly. A remote F2-1/F3-1 responded with SLC comms failures. Will respond Tuesday 31st. The SBC / Diversion gate status report for B2J indicated 100 0iversion efficiency but could not analysis enought to determine if SByC activity is enabled for the given time period. 05/29/2000 09:23 darren@p SLC500:CommsFailure: comms failures have been noted. They will be monitored by PTOC staff. 05/25/2000 12:49 darren@p E1:TestTagFailure,F2:InputSyncDetect,F2:LowLithium,F2:ReaderReset: All alarms were generated by PSMFC personnel while doing a GMC. 05/25/2000 12:49 Darren_C A GMC was performed, only 10 sticks were thrown on the separator because of the high number of unpittaged fish coming through the facility. Coil effieciencies for the Separator and West Tank SbyC were 100%. The battery for transceiver F2 was replaced although when checked for voltage it appeared to be within specifications. I do not know why the alarm occurred but replaced the battery anyway. I will monitor the site to see that the alarm does not occur angain. 05/24/2000 07:56 darren@p F2:LowLithium: Alarm has been noted and will be fixed today during visit. 05/23/2000 15:46 darren@p F2:LowLithium: This alarm has been noted and will be taken care of on the next site visit. The alarm is in the status report and will be displayed every hour that is why we keep seeing it. The only way to clear the alarm is to reset the transceiver. 05/23/2000 08:03 darren@p F2:LowLithium: The alarm has been noted and will be addressed on the next site maintenance. 05/22/2000 08:20 darren@p F2:LowLithium: Alarm has been acknowledged and battery will replaced when PSMFC personnel are there to do site maintenance. 05/20/2000 08:57 scottl@p F2:LowLithium: Will check battery and keeper on next scheduled site visit. 05/19/2000 14:54 scott_li Rick Martinson reports that the hydrolic flow rate through the facility was changed by ~2ft per sec faster than what it was previously set to. SBYC gate efficiency report indicates no appearnt effects to the gate timing. Will monitor diversion efficiency and check timing on gates on the next scheduled maintenence check. Sooner if necessary. 05/19/2000 08:05 dlwarf@p F2:LowLithium: Low lithium problem noted. Will be checked on the next visit. 05/18/2000 09:15 Don_Warf Visited site for a general maintenance check and found no problems. Ran 20 sticks on the 3 way gate and coils A1, A2, A3, A4, F1 and F2. Diversion and coil efficiency was 100%.. 05/12/2000 09:54 scott_li General maintenence check found no problems to report. 10 Stick Tags was thrown on the seperator coils and all were diverted succcessfully and detected on all coils. 05/04/2000 09:36 Don_Warf Visited site for a general maintenance check on 5/3/00. Turned Separation By Code Enable switch to ON and turned air on for the three way gate at 3:20 pm. Ran 50 sticks on the 3 way gate to check timing and coil efficiency. All 50 sticks diverted on time. Water speed was measured at 6 FPS on the secondary dewatering unit and 12 FPS at the three way gate. Coil efficiency was: A1- 50 A2- 50 A3- 50 A4- 50 E1- 49 E2- 50 05/02/2000 17:59 Davem OK, the bad news is my map file B2J00104 did not identify the proper AC to divert fish from the Bonneville Project Evaluation. The AC should have been "41" for the diversion of those fish; instead I specified "11". This is the AC for this year's CSS release from Dworshak. The good news is that none of the "41" fish have been detected yet at B2J, and four of the five "11" fish were apparently detected prior to my implementation of B2J00104.MAP, and passed normally through the Diversion Gate and straight back to the river. The fifth Dworshak fish was seen today (May 2) and diverted into the East SbyC Tank. I have notified the B2J SMP Biologist and requested that he retrieve that fish and any incidental fish from the East SbyC Tank prior to Lyle's collection of fish in that tank. I've corrected my error, and have saved the proper configuration in B2J00123.MAP. 05/02/2000 16:41 davem Installed new Multimon map file B2J00123.MAP; enabled diversion of stick tags at the SbyC Separator Gate into the SbyC West Tank (PLC bitmask 0001). Stick tests should NOT be conducted coincident with scheduled SbyC diversion activities (currently limited to the U of I study) utilizing the West Tank. Stick tests at this site also require a fish containment net within the West Tank, and coordination with the PSMFC on-site biologist for the transfer and release of any incidentally entrained fish. 04/25/2000 18:27 Don_Warf Visited site for a general maintenance check. Found no problems. 04/20/2000 08:41 scott_li The data file mailer was upgraded from 3.0 to 3.0a. This version possably fixes the problem were x's are randomly written to the I/P address dialog box preventing any subsequent attempts to send mail. 04/16/2000 19:41 Don_Warf Cleared xxxxxx from PC1's Mailer on Friday 4/14/00 and manually sent files. 04/13/2000 15:00 davem Installed new Multimon database and map file (B2J00104.*) to enable SbyC for Bonneville project passage evaluation conducted by Lyle Gilbreath. 04/13/2000 08:06 darren@p F1:LowExcCurrent: This failure was generated by PSMFC maintenance. 04/12/2000 09:13 darren_c April 11, 2000 Sean Casey and I ran a controlled stick test on all monitors and coils except for the Sample exit (coils 91,92,93). The facility ran well no problems were seen. 03/24/2000 08:13 dlwarf SLC comms failure noted. 03/07/2000 13:41 darren_c On Monday 3-6-2000 facility was watered up and monitors were tested with sticks. 200 sticks were run on all monitors except for the sample exit only 100 sticks were run. All monitors reported 100%. 03/03/2000 15:45 Don_Warf All batteries were replaced on 3/2/00 02/16/2000 14:42 Don_Warf Modifications were made to all transceivers to eliminate sync problems between transceivers.. These modifications were made by Destron Fearing at the site on 2/14/00. 01/05/2000 16:28 carters Timer tags for coils A4, F1, F2, 91, 92, 93 installed in site configuration. Still need to see timer tags for A1, A2, A3, 81, 82, E1, E2. 01/05/2000 10:03 Carter_S Check submits flag turned on to check for Bonneville 2 data. 01/05/00 09:57 carters Initial log creation for B2J ####End of Event Log for B2J###
