System placed in primary bypass mode at that time. 10/28/2002 09:00 Dave pcA'd into both PC1 and PC2 to reset Multimon, whose internal timer is affected by the jump to/from DST. Stopped and restarted Multimon on PC2. Discovered that the clock configuration to ignore DST was NOT set on PC1. Stopped Multimon on PC1. Configured Windows to ignore DST and reset the PC1 clock to the correct time. Restarted Multimon on PC1, with file B2J02301.102. Confirmed that the PC1 clock "fell back" to 1:00am at 2:00am on 10/27. Confirmed that no tagged fish were detected while the clock was set back. 09/15/2002 12:32 dlwarf@p A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset: Reader reset - ongoing problem. 09/08/2002 09:44 darren@p 81:ReaderReset,82:InputSyncDetect,82:InputSyncLost: Alarms caused by a random reader reset. 09/06/2002 08:10 darren@p 82:TestTagFailure: No cause for failure. Will monitor for future failures. 09/03/2002 12:20 Dave I have (rather belatedly) disabled my cron job that daily updated the SMP SxC databases at GOJ and LMJ, and generated a lookup list of fish detection histories for the NMFS RAPH release. The SMP SxC separation activities have been on hiatus since June, and collection of RAPH fish at B2J was terminated sometime before July 1. 08/27/2002 19:06 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2002/08/27 13:15:47 08/26/2002 11:57 Dave Updated map file to B2J02238.MAP, disabling the last two U of I diversion activities (starting Aug 28 and Sept 7), per Ty Wagner's request. I found that the breaker for circuit #8 was tripped it was reset. The utility computer was not plugged into anything so I plugged it into one of the surge protected receptacles on the UPS for PC2. I then verified what circuits were attached to what receptacles this is the current layout for the room and circuits: South Wall (from east to west): crkt #2, crkt #4, crkt #2 West Wall (from south to north): crkt #2, crkt #4, crkt #6, and crkt #8 North Wall (from west to east): crkt #6, crkt #8, crkt #6, and crkt #8. It was verified that the UPS's are not tied into the same circuit and that all PC's are on Battery backup, with the exception of the Utility PC. I also checked the settings for PTTP I verified that everything is correct and manually sent files. I noticed today that the files were not being uploaded so I PCA'd into PC1 this morning and once again verified the settings. In the history I noticed that the connection appears to be timing out. I will check with John Tenney and found out what may be causing this phenomenon. 08/04/2002 09:40 Don_Warf PCAed in to manually send files. 08/03/2002 11:52 scottl Noticed that PC1 had not sent data files. PCA to site found that the settings in PTTP were set for lan connection. When PTTP found that tere was no lan available, the process was terminated. reconfigured PTTP and manually sent data files TO PTAGIS. Will monitor to ensure that files are send until Monday when ptoc will be on site. 08/02/2002 14:12 Scott_Li SMP verified that the UPS for PC1 was on the same circuit as PC2. Dean moved the UPS for PC1 to an adjacent circuit . This was done without interuption to data collection. Again, PTOC will be onsite Monday. 08/02/2002 13:42 Scott_Li A site visit is scheduled for Monday 8/5 to correct the AC power configuration for PC1 and also to investigate the AC recepticle problems that were reported. As of now, PC1 is online and collecting data, PTTP was re-engaged, duplicate data files on PC1 that were previously sent to PTAGIS from PC2 were archived. We are electing to leave the system as is for the weekend and not have the SMP reconfigure the power scheme due to the potentially hazardous condition with the metalic wire mold. PTOC will monitor over the weekend , we will ask the SMP personnel to verify that the two computers are not on the same panel breaker (circuit) . 08/01/2002 13:52 Dave I reinstated data collection on B2J-PC1, but changed the PTTP file upload mode from automatic to manual, to prevent the redundant submission of data (with distinct timestamps) from the PC1 and PC2 platforms. Data submission of any kind from PC1 should NOT be reinstated until the circuitry and power cabling issues are resolved. 08/01/2002 13:10 Dave B2J-PC1 is currently out of data collection mode, pending a site visit to check electrical circuits and reconfigure the UPS platforms. B2J-PC2 is in data collection (and diversion) mode, and I am manually uploading data files from that platform. 07/30/2002 09:32 Carter_S -------- Original Message -------- From: "Dean" To: "Carter Stein" , "darren chase" , "Dave Marvin" , "Don Warf" , "Jim Simonson" , "Scott Livingston" , "Rick Martinson" Subject: 3-way gate at JMF Date: Thu, 25 Jul 2002 15:36:06 -0700 The CoE mechanics replaced the solenoid on the 3-way gate. Problems were encountered with rotation to the east last week. Although no further SbyC diversions were scheduled to the east tank this season, repairs were preferable now rather than post season. 07/27/2002 08:18 darren@p 52:TestTagFailure,E1:TestTagFailure,E2:TestTagFailure,F2:TestTagFailure: Alarms were generated by PTOC personnel while performing site maintenance. 07/26/2002 13:37 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2002/07/26 11:00:56 07/26/2002 13:37 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2002/07/26 10:48:51 07/26/2002 12:29 scottl Site visit found the air pressure on the 3-way gate was at 80 psi and would not rotate to the east position. Increased air pressure to 100 psi and exercised gate until rotated freely. Ran a series of 28 sticks to divert east and west, all sticks were diverted to the proper tank. Also turned off the SxC switch and verified that the gate would not divert sticks in this state. Swapped exciter and timer tag cables on E1 and E2 so that detections would be in sequential order. Verified optimum tune on all transceivers. No other problems to report. 07/24/2002 14:31 Carter_S Dean reports that the compressor for the air conditioning system at the facility has failed, and it is not known when the Corps will get replacement parts for repair. In the mean time, Dean will open the door to the PIT Tag Electronics Room (PTER) to stabilize the temperature there. 07/23/2002 16:10 Dave Ty Wagner let me know that during the last scheduled SbyC diversion, two tagged fish and "a few incidentals" were recovered from the East SbyC tank. Ty's fish are supposed to be diverted to the West tank. Here are those two events, as reported in the raw data files. |00 A1 02/07/20 00:50:35 3D9.1BF11B2F0A Divert_87| 4258 |03 A2 02/07/20 00:50:36 3D9.1BF11B2F0A Divert_87| 4962 |10 A3 02/07/20 00:50:36 3D9.1BF11B2F0A Divert_87| 5317 |13 A4 02/07/20 00:50:37 3D9.1BF11B2F0A Divert_87| 5978 |12 E2 02/07/20 00:50:54 3D9.1BF11B2F0A Monitor_87| 23249 |02 E1 02/07/20 00:50:55 3D9.1BF11B2F0A Monitor_87| 24651 |00 A1 02/07/20 16:05:16 3D9.1BF1207F52 Divert_87| 38713 |03 A2 02/07/20 16:05:17 3D9.1BF1207F52 Divert_87| 39338 |10 A3 02/07/20 16:05:17 3D9.1BF1207F52 Divert_87| 39738 |13 A4 02/07/20 16:05:18 3D9.1BF1207F52 Divert_87| 40448 |12 E2 02/07/20 16:05:29 3D9.1BF1207F52 Monitor_87| 52482 |02 E1 02/07/20 16:05:31 3D9.1BF1207F52 Monitor_87| 53591 Ty recovered 21 more target fish during this diversion, all with an Action Code of 87, all routed to the West tank. There's no reason these two fish should have been routed to the East tank. I think there may be lingering problems with the operation of this 3-way gate. 07/19/2002 17:23 Dean SbyC was enabled at 0735 on 19 July in anticipation of University of Idaho collections. 07/19/2002 16:53 Dean The 3-way (SbyC) rotating gate inadvertently "fired" several times from 0200-0630 on 16 July. Sometime during that time period the diversion tube became stuck and did not fully reset. This routed fish simultaneously to the west SbyC raceway, potentially to the sample collection tank, or downriver. Approximately 500-750 misdirected fish were released from the SbyC west raceway. The Juvenile Bypass System was placed in primary bypass from 1100-1130 on 16 July to complete adjustments and repairs to the 3-way rotating gate. 07/19/2002 13:25 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2002/07/19 06:33:55 07/16/2002 13:38 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2002/07/16 10:35:49 07/16/2002 13:38 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2002/07/16 10:34:54 07/16/2002 13:38 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2002/07/16 10:33:39 07/16/2002 13:38 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2002/07/16 10:33:38 07/16/2002 13:38 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2002/07/16 10:33:35 07/16/2002 13:38 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2002/07/16 10:33:33 07/12/2002 19:13 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2002/07/12 12:23:43 07/12/2002 15:09 Dean SbyC was turned off at 1325 on 12 July. SbyC at B2J is intended to remain off until the next scheduled University of Idaho collections on 19-21 July. 07/10/2002 11:43 Dean SbyC was enabled at B2J on Monday, 8 July at approximately 1500 in anticipation of University of Idaho's scheduled diversion (beginning 1000 on 9 July). Enabling the 3-way rotating gate on 8 July allowed SMP personnel opportunity to test for symptoms of problems encountered (sticking while diverting to SbyC west tank) on 30 June and 1 July. The gate tested flawlessly as of 1600 on 8 July. 07/08/2002 19:36 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2002/07/08 14:09:25 07/03/2002 14:36 Update_o A potential cause for the rotating gate "sticking" problem experienced on 29-30 June was discovered on 2 July. Investigations revealed an abrasion point which may have contributed to or resulted in the diversion tube sticking in the partially open position. Although the gate appeared to be functioning normally when this potential cause was discovered, adjustments were performed (by CoE mechanic with assistance from PSMFC personnel) to eliminate contact with the metal piece in question. The gate was tested and was operating normally as of 1600 on 2 July. Currently both SbyC and air pressure to the 3-way gate have been turned off. The gate will be tested after several days of inactivity and prior to the next SbyC diversion scheduled for 9 July. 07/03/2002 09:00 Dave Dean Ballinger disabled the SbyC system at B2J a little after 3:00 PM (PST) on June 2. Air to the gate was shut off, and the logic controller was switched off. The system will remain "at rest" for a few days, and then tested in an attempt to identify the cause(s) of the intermittent failures we have observed with this gate. 07/02/2002 19:24 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2002/07/02 15:09:42 07/01/2002 14:01 Dave Here's a bit of an update on the sticky rotating gate at B2J. The gate stuck twice. The first time was on June 29 at 21:52:27 (all times in PST). The gate stuck until 22:01:20, or at least that's the last PIT tag detection on the SbyC West monitor. During this 10 minute period, tagged fish were detected on the River Exit coils (81 & 82), indicating that the gate may have been stuck only partially open. The gate stuck again on June 30 at 22:08.15, and remained at least partially open until at least 22:25:20. Again, it appears that the gate may have been simultaneously diverting fish both to the SbyC West Tank and back to the river. In both cases, the first fish diverted was a target fish (AC 87). These are the only two AC-87 fish detected on Saturday and Sunday. A third AC-87 tag code was detected at 7:27:23 AM today (July 1), but does not seem to have caused the rotating gate to stick. 06/17/2002 13:48 Dave Updated database and map files to B2J02168.DB and B2J02168.MAP, respectively. These reference the LYFE-2 (AC 87) ocean-type fall chinook that U of I will periodically subsample between 6/29 and 9/7. Multimon was minimized on the toolbar when I pcA'd into B2J-PC1, and was in normal DOS full-screen on B2J-PC2. 06/17/2002 13:26 Don_Warf Visited sites for a general maint. check and found no problems. 06/07/2002 12:22 Dave I updated the map file to B2J02158.MAP. This version increases the sample maximum from 24 to 30 for LGR-WC (AC-81). Per Ty Wagner, this group unexpectedly includes steelhead as well as chinook, and the increase is necessary to obtain 24 fish from the target (chinook) population. BTW, why is Multimon always minimized on PC1, but not PC2, when I log in? Hmm... 06/05/2002 17:31 Dave I updated the B2J map file to B2J02156.MAP, disabling diversion of Mike Hayes' USGSWS (AC-36) tags. There is currently no diversion activity scheduled for the East SxC tank. 06/04/2002 09:48 Dave At ~9:45 AM (PDT) I updated the B2J map file to B2J02155.MAP to disable the diversion of NMFS-RAPH chinook (AC-31), per Lyle Gilbreath's request. 06/03/2002 08:26 darren@p 82:TestTagFailure: Test tag did fire but was not seen as a timer tag because of a pittag that was seen first. I believe this is what is causing these alarms. The tags are firing but before the tag can be seen there is a pittag that passes through the monitor and then the test tag, thus being seen as a regular tag. I will speak with Destron personnel to try and verify this. The tag is firing on it's schedule. 05/31/2002 15:00 Dave I updated the database and map files to B2J02151.DB and B2J02151.MAP, respectively. The database contains 50k additional LGR-WC (AC-81) tags; the map file was modified to divert up to eight additional fish per hatchery group for U of I's June 1-3 grab. 05/29/2002 08:33 Darren_C A General Maintenance Check was performed on each site. No Problems were found. I changed the Status Report send times to 360 min. or once per file. I will do BWL and B2A remotely. 05/22/2002 15:14 Dave I updated the map file to B2J02142.MAP. This version bumps the daily limit for NMFS' RAPH tags (AC-31) from 500 to 600, per Lyle Gilbreath's request. 05/20/2002 09:13 darren@p 91:TestTagFailure,E1:TestTagFailure: The test tags did fire but there was a pittag in the feild at the same time as it was firing. The message "test tag failed" was posted Multimon but the tag code was also posted to multimon with an |Ignore AC. 05/15/2002 13:23 Dave I updated the map file to B2J02135.MAP. I modified DU #1 to support a 500 fish daily limit on diversion of NMFS' RAPH Saltwater Challenge tags (AC-31), per Lyle Gilbreath's request. 05/13/2002 09:30 developm Updated 'DiversionGateEfficiency' configuration data for B2J to reflect a change in ActionCode mapping which occurred on Wednesday, 8 May 2002: ActionCode 36 was mapped to 'Divert_R', now is mapped to 'Divert_L'. Due to the configuration mis-match, DGE has been reporting diversion errors for fish with AC 36 that were properly diverted 'Left'. For example, as of 08:00 on 13 May 2002, the B2J SbyC Separator Gate Action Summary shows a count of 20 fish 'diverted Left when they should have been diverted Right'. This tally may be in error, since DGE thought AC 36 (in addition to AC's 11, 12, & 13) meant 'Divert_R' when in reality it means 'Divert_L'. Doug Clough 05/12/2002 08:25 darren@p A2:TestTagFailure: Tag failure was caused by a Pittag being in the feild at t.he same time as the test tag firing 05/11/2002 09:13 darren@p 91:ReaderReset,92:InputSyncDetect,92:InputSyncLost: Alarm was generated by a random reader reset. This is an ongoing problem. 05/10/2002 13:36 Anthony On 5/7/02 I replaced mounting bolts on all transceivers at sites B2A, B2J, and BWL. 05/08/2002 16:49 Dave Updated map file to B2J02128.MAP. USGSWS (AC-36) tags are now diverted to the East SbyC tank (with the NMFS fish) rather than the West SbyC tank (with UI fish). Also corrected diversion actions for UI fish; they had been programmed to divert to the East SbyC tank. Whew! Glad I caught this before the first UI diversion this Friday, May 10. 05/06/2002 16:14 Dean For the record: The Juvenile Monitoring Facility was dewatered from 0700-1415 on 29 April to remove PVC sleeves from separator bars. B2J PIT tag interrogation resumed at 1415. 05/06/2002 11:06 Scott_Li Set the file submission frequency to upload 4 times per day. 05/03/2002 09:53 Scott_Li Changed the number of files generated per day to 4 on both primary and backup computers at 0850pst. 05/02/2002 09:38 Dave Programmatically added "CLOSE" tags to truncated data files B2J02119.105, GRA02120.105, and GRJ02120.105. Reloaded these three data files. 04/30/2002 10:21 D.Chase I checked on the site and the reasons for it not loading files on 4-29-02. When I arrived on site it was just as I had expected, the machine was collecting Data but was froze up, there was no control of the mouse. I maximized the multimon screen ( via Alt+Enter) but when I tried to go back to my desktop screen I got a blank black screen. I had to reboot the system. I was then able to send in the files in blocks of five. This problem has been seen in the past at a couple of different locations and with different versions of PTTP uploader. We will investigate this problem internally. The site is up and running and appears to sending files. 04/28/2002 22:43 Darren_C I verified that PC2 is still the backup PC and is collecting Data. I will check into the problem tomorrow (4-29-02) and rectify all data files that are needed. 04/28/2002 08:59 Darren_C I checked this morning and verified that PC2 is still the backup PC and is collecting Data. I have not been able to PCA into PC1 as of 9:00. I suspect that we will find that PC1 is collecting Data but is unable to send files. This will be looked at Monday when Scott and I are on site. I will keep trying to PCA into PC1 today. 04/27/2002 15:16 Darren_C I was unable to PCA into PC1 but was able to PCA into PC2 to see that it is still the backup PC. I did not send any files from PC2, after speaking with Dave Marvin, because we did not PC1 to free itself and send duplicate files. Scott and I will be there on Monday. I will monitor PC2 all weekend to ensure Data Collection. Dean Ballinger is not in today and they do not have a key to get into the pittag room to check the PC. This may be the same thing we have seen a couple of times already this year in that the connection is lost in the middle of file transfers and the port gets locked up. The PC is still collecting Data but is unable to send until the PC is rebooted. If the situation changes we will retrieve the files. 04/27/2002 07:41 Darren_C Files were received and loaded at 1:27 on 4/27 will monitor for loading. 04/25/2002 16:21 Dave I updated the map file to B2J02115.MAP. By request, I've disabled the diversion of AC-73 tags to the East SbyC raceway. 04/25/2002 09:07 Dave I forgot to disconnect from the dial-up ISP yesterday, after loading and updating the map and db files. The phone finally disconnected automatically, but further PTTP transactions were blocked until I pcA'd in this morning and cleared a couple of Window's status/confirmation messages. 04/24/2002 19:21 Dave Updated site with new database and map file referencing LGR-WC (AC-81) in preparation for new U of I SbyC activity; however, this map does not contain the U of I subsampling instructions. Also corrected map bug in 3-way gate definition that prevented the detection or diversion of the first of Bruce Monk's BRUCE-1 (AC-73) releases. The new database file is B2J02113.DB; the new map is B2J02114.MAP. 04/24/2002 09:27 Dchase The Data collection platforms at each site now have the UPS's on the collection PC's. Also the transceivers have been changed so that all Adult transceivers will now send status reports every 720 minutes and will not display noise reports. The Juvenile transceivers were set to 720 minutes on the status reports. There was an oversight at B2A when the UPS's were installed in that PTTP was not restarted. It was started remotely and is now up and running. 04/21/2002 10:14 dlwarf@p 93:InputSyncDetect,93:ReaderReset: On-going problem. 04/19/2002 10:57 Carter_S Following is from Rick Martinson: On another note, an update on the rotating gates. Since Jim was on site, he inspected the rotating gates and concluded that a tight drive belt was the problem with the 3 way gate. He loosened the belt and it operated consistently in both directions. He also adjusted the oiler, the CoE had them full open which is unnecessary and may do more harm than good. Air pressure was adjusted on both gates to provide quick movement without excessive slamming or sluggish movement. I don't think stick testing for diversion efficiency at the 3 way is necessary but it couldn't hurt either, if you have the time. Dean will contact the CoE mechanic responsible for gate maintenance and relay the info and hopefully get him to inspect belt tension so he knows how loose the belt should be. Evidently Jim had talked to Tammy and suggested this remedy a few days ago but the CoE had not implemented the suggestion. 04/19/2002 10:42 Darren_C A general maintenance check was performed on 4-18-02. Sticks were passed through the Separator and West Tank coils. Perfect efficiency was recorded. All other transceivers were inspected. 04/16/2002 16:14 Carter_S From: "Mackey, Tammy M NWP" To: 'Carter Stein' , pitevent@psmfc.org, "Sprague Calvin R NWP" Cc: "Mackey Tammy M NWP" , Dean Ballinger , Tom Ruehle , "Hurson Dave F NWW" Subject: RE: b2j GATE PROBLEM Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2002 15:39:46 -0700 According to the mechanics, the gate is now working fine. Please keep and eye on it and let me know if it fails again. Thank you, Tammy Mackey 04/16/2002 13:19 GATE_PRO Update: Site personnel report that the gate is still broken. I just spoke with Tammy Mackey and she said people are working the problem now, and there is a meeting scheduled on Thursday April 18th to deal with it. The broken gate will affect at least two Corps studies 1. Delayed mortality (Lyle Gilbreth) 2. Gatewell Passage Evaluation (Bruce Monk) 04/16/2002 11:24 Dean The 3-way rotating gate stopped diverting to the east side at 2100 on 15 April. A repair order has been placed with the Corp. 04/11/2002 11:31 Carter Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2002 11:22:26 -0700 From: "Todd Kaehler" To: Carter Stein , Don Warf , Scott Livingston CC: Willy Kelly Remembering back a month or so when someone at Bonneville configured a PC and used the IP address of one of the production PCs causing it to go offline... and I said I would write a script to monitor the Internet ARP requests to catch this in the future. Well I was almost done when I realized that Linux comes with a program called "arpwatch" which does just what we want. I have turned on arpwatch on "sturgeon" (the Linux/Sparc 5 in the AFF). It is configured at the moment so Willy and I get any changes to the ARP cache at the Bonneville LAN. We will report any suspicious changes to the LAN. --Todd 04/11/2002 09:25 Dave Yesterday (April 10) I stopped and restarted data collection on B2J-PC2 in order to resync data file creation with file transmission. 04/07/2002 18:56 Dave I pcA'd into JDJ-PC1 and B2J-PC1, and manually stopped and restarted data collection in Multimon, in order to resync file open/close times to 3/6/9/12 o'clock. 04/03/2002 14:35 Dean Washington shore JMF remains dewatered to replace wedgewire screen at PDS. As per FPAC request, the Washington shore JMF will remain out of operational service until 0700 on Thursday, April 4. This will allow the bulk of "ICK" infected Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery fish to bypass the facility. The facilities collection tanks, handling troughs and associated equipment was disinfected as a precautionary measure. 04/01/2002 15:26 Dean Bonneville JMF was dewatered at 0700 on April 1 for reinstallation of wedgewire screen at PDS. Normal operations will likely resume at 1600 on April 2. Further updates to follow. 03/31/2002 12:33 dlwarf@p 51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:InputSyncLost: On-going problem. 03/30/2002 11:35 Don_Warf Ran PCAnywhere session to determine why files are not being sent. Diagnostics run on PTTP revealed incomplete dialup settings. Re-selected the Gorgenet dialup option and sent files manually. 03/29/2002 16:35 Dave Updated site with new map and database files B2J02088, incorporating diversion action for USGS Warm Springs chinook (AC-36). Modified CONFIG.SYS file to standard values on both PC1 and PC2, but did not reboot machines as facility is active. Loaded AboutTime to B2J-Util and manually synced times on PC1 and PC2. Due to the current IP interruption, I modified the Win98 Internet Options to utilize the GorgeNet dialup connection if the IP connection is absent. This only affects communications initiated from B2J. This does NOT affect PTTP Uploader, which attempts to connect on the IP or dial-up connection explicitly denoted in its internal configuration settings. 03/29/2002 13:50 Scott_Li Reconfigured B2J-PC1 to submit files via dial-up connection as an interum solution to the i/p network being broken. Manually sent cued data files to ptagis. 03/29/2002 10:09 Scott_Li Called Brian Sheets (EC company) to check status on the fiber problem. He is going to Bonneville this morning and will report what they have found mid-day today.. Emphasized to Brian the importance of getting this link repaired ASAP. 03/28/2002 15:28 Scott_Li Brian Sheets from EC Company called at 3:15 pm and indicated that their techs have confirmed that the fiber link from Pwr House 2 to the JFF was in fact severed somewhere. I told Brian to inform his techs of what I found at the level 28 patch panel, broken ferrels in the ST connectors. Brian indicated that they will shoot the fiber bundle tommorrow at 0700 am with an OTDR and determine exactly where the breaks are and will report the findings at ~ 0900 am and come up with a game plan and what is required to fix the situation. 03/28/2002 07:42 Carter_S Scott reports that the Corps is trouble-shooting the fiber run between the patch panel at L28 in PH2 and the Juvenile Facility. IP should be functional after fiber teminations are repaired there. No word from Corps about when they will repair the fiber. 03/21/2002 13:28 Dean JFF was unwatered at 0700 on 21 March for purpose of replacing wedgewire at PDS. The outage will be for at least 24 hours. More details pending. 03/21/2002 11:47 carters@ EC electric found slate colored fiber between patch panel in PH2 and JFF bad. Moved blue fiber from AFF at patch panel to white colored spare. B2J communications back on-line around 11:00 AM. 03/21/2002 09:07 Dave Due to continued disruption in IP communications, I manually retrieved all outstanding data files, and placed them in the FDL queue. 03/20/2002 17:22 Carter_S Found bad (brown) fiber at j-box on level 28 in PH2. CE Construction is scheduled to repaire tomorrow. IP should be on line sometime in AM on 3/21/02. 03/18/2002 09:40 Don_Warf Site IP communications have been lost between the router and the JFF. The COE is looking into possible causes. 03/12/2002 16:14 Dave I pcA'd into the site to verify the base configuration. I noticed that the map and db files on PC1 did not contain the references to the B2JTST AC-253 test tags. If sticks were thrown yesterday in an effort to activate the left leg of the 3-way gate, this is why the left leg didn't work. When I was done, I had loaded, copied, and/or renamed the map, db, and hw files on both PC1 and PC2 with the correct "b2j-gn8" masks. I created a PC1-DATA directory on PC2, to protect against the accidental loss of data in the event that the default.cfg file is deleted. In fact, I had to intentionally delete the default.cfg file on both PC1 and PC2, and then rebuild the generic configuration, to eliminate residual and fallacious counter data in the supposedly new and pure "b2j-gn8.map" file. And, since both PCs were up to 1/2 hour fast, I resynched both machines within one second of GMT-8. All of the unique "b2j-gn8" files, and the B2J ignore.dat file, have been uploaded to the multimon FTP site. 03/12/2002 13:06 Dean B2J was watered up at 1000 on 11 March, 2002. Pit Tag interrogation began at that time. 03/12/2002 08:22 Don_Warf Site was watered up for the season on 3/11/02 at 9:40. Gate were timed using stick tests. Forty sticks were ran on every coil with 100% reading efficiency. 03/01/2002 12:48 scott Dave and Scott reloaded the data collection platform with the latest version of Multimon 8.01 January 30th 2002. reconfigured hardware files and documented changes within the program configurations in order to standardize system wide configurations. Multimon will be replaced when the production version 8.02 is distributed. 02/21/2002 08:09 Scott_Li Data collection and upload process was interrupted yesterday due to an I/P address conflict with other users in the smolt monitoring facility. Called Todd and he indicated that SMP's were configuring their network setting and inadvertently used I/P addresses that were currently being used by the B2J data computers. Will document which I/P's the SMP's were allocated in order to avoid this conflict in the future. 02/19/2002 08:25 darren@p 91:ReaderReset,92:InputSyncDetect,92:InputSyncLost: 91:ReaderReset,92:InputSyncDetect,92:InputSyncLost: Alarm was generated by a random reader reset. This problem will be addressed by PTOC personnel this year. 01/31/2002 08:43 Dave Scott powered-up the data collection platform on Jan 29. I enabled file checking today (Jan 31). The facility won't water-up until sometime after March 1. Data files collected prior to that time will contain timer tags and diagnostic messages, but no fish detections. ####End of Event Log for B2J###
