All transceivers were checked for tuning and noise. 20 Sticks were passed through the separator monitor with 100% diversion and detection. The PC clocks on both PC1 and PC2 were off by 5 minutes of atomic time so both PC's were adjusted, they are within 10seconds of atomic time and within 1 second of each other. It has been determined that these occurrences happen during brief power outages and ‘brown outs’. The values that end up in the raw file are not enterable via the PV600 or DTAM. Limits are set in those HMI devices that will not allow the user to enter such values. Every time an erroneous sample rate shows up in the raw file it is surrounded by other PLC messages displaying their ‘reset’ state which means the PLC is either loosing power (which it hasn’t lost enough power to trip the AC POWER OFF PLC message) or the PLC has lost power which does trip the AC POWER OFF PLC message. In all cases when power is either restored or returned to its normal voltage, the proper sample rate is written to the raw file and the other PLC messages that are actually in the ‘set’ state are written to the raw file. Beginning shortly before 9:00 am today, we took the following steps. 1) I resubmitted all available data files created since noon yesterday, via e-mail, as MultiMon data. 2) John and I pcA'd into B2J-PC1 and modified the registry to correctly identify data from this site as being of the MULTIMON type, re-initialized Uploader, submitted the current outstanding file, and verified that it was received by PTAGIS and identified as a MULTIMON data file. 3) John and I pcA'd into B2J-PC2 and made the same registry change. It was found that the reed switch attached to the Primary Byass gate's cylinder failed to engage when the gate was switched from Bypass to Sample. With the assistance of a COE electrician the reed switch was adjusted until it engaged. PRIMARY BYPASS OFF was written to the raw file. A series of stick test were performed as well. The first test,performed between 12:10 and 12:45 and in file B2J04075.105 consisted of 20 (R) sticks and 20 (L) sticks. All were diverted correctly. The second test was performed in the same hour which was latter found out to be incorrect so it was performed again between 2:15 and 2:30 in file B2J04075.108 . This test consisted of throwning 20(R) sticks and 20(L) sticks with the air to the 3 way gate shut off. All sticks were read by the appropriate coils, however 3 sticks were missed during the collection process and went to the river. All thumbs today. The third test was performed between 3:00 and 3:15, file B2J04075.109, under the same conditions as the first test. All juvenile bypass systems remain out of service. The AFF is out of service. All adult fishways are going to orifice flow and all AWS valves are closed. Bays 1 and 18 are closed. PH1 ice and trash sluiceway is closed. Fishways will remain at orifice flow with the exit leads such that water will come from underwater rather than the surface. Since Bradford Island is going to orifice flow on Sunday, we will leave the ladder at orifice flow all weekend. Fisheries will come in on Saturday to check ladder conditions at Washington Shore/Cascades Island to determine whether or not it is safe to bring the ladder back to full operation. Please be patient.
