The system was placed in bypass mode at that time. Full flow PIT tag interrogation will remain active until the 2-mile pipe is dewatered, which will occur six weeks early this year on 3 November. 10/31/2011 09:03 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2011/10/31 06:06:22 10/31/2011 09:03 DGE_Robo PrimaryBypass (PrimaryBypass) changed from 'CLOSED' to 'OPEN' at 2011/10/31 06:00:19 10/31/2011 06:51 alan@bay 03:TestTagFailure: No apparent reason for this one-time alarm. All transceivers were checked and adjsuted for tuning, noise and detectability. No test sticks wer passed through the separator monitors at site personnel request. no problems were discovered during this visit. 10/13/2011 08:41 Dean_Bal Powerhouse priority switched to PH1 on the morning of 11 October to begin repairs to the WA Shore ladder. This will result in greatly reduced fish passage through BO2-JBS for the remainder of the season. Just a heads up: Smolt monitoring operations will conclude for the season at Bonneville Juvenile Fish Monitoring Facility at 0700 on Monday, 31 October 2011. The system will be placed in bypass mode at that time. Full flow PIT tag interrogation will remain active until the 2-mile pipe is dewatered, which typically occurs around the middle of December. 09/26/2011 12:24 Alan A GMC was performed 9-26-2011. All transceivers were checked and tuned as necessary. The gates were test fired and found in prety good working order, a little bit sticky. A trouble ticket was previously requested for the Corp to work on the gate during the winter outage. Outstanding files on PC2 were archived. The clocks on both PCs 27 seconds behind atomic time. No problems found. 09/07/2011 12:01 Troy A GMC was performed 09/07/2011. All transceivers were checked for tune and ajustments made where needed. No sticks were thrown and the SbyC gate when tested with the test buttons stuck to the right. After a firing to the left the gate would rotate right and relucantly return to TDC. The site biologist was informed of the problem and will be issuing a trouble ticket to have this gate service this winter. PC1 was 2 min 14 seconds behind atomic time and PC2 was 2 mins 25 seconds behind atomic time. Both were adjusted to within 1 second of atomic time and each other. The gap file B2J11250.207 was manually submitted. The PCA issue was delt with which required a reboot of PC1, the gap file for this is B2J11250.210, something weird happened on PC1 after the reboot it reverted back 3 files to .104 when it was on file .107 prior to the reboot...? .107 was submitted then the gap file was submitted then .105 was archived and the PC is currently on .106 No other problems to report. 09/07/2011 06:03 Rclark@b 02:TestTagFailure,03:TestTagFailure: May be slightly out of tune. Will be checked on next site visit. 09/06/2011 06:13 Rclark@b 04:TestTagFailure: Noted 09/01/2011 14:51 Dean_Bal Just to update the status of B2J since the last update (see previous message below): B2J returned to "normal sampling mode" at 0700 on 31 August when water temperatures descended to 69.5F. The upstream switchgate is in "sample". As of 0700 on Friday, 26 August, B2J is in "Modified Sampling Mode" due to river temperatures reaching 70.0F. Sampling will take place every other day as per the FPOM agreed operation protocols until the daily average drops to 69.5 F. Sample and bypass mode will occur on alternating 24 hours periods (0700-0700). This means the upstream switchgate will be moved (change state) at 0700 daily. Work in the WA Shore fish ladder was completed and powerhouse priority switched back to PH2 late in the afternoon on 18 August. PH1 as priority powerhouse during this time period resulted in greatly reduced passage through the JBS, thus, greatly reduced PIT tag detections at B2J. 08/20/2011 07:13 darren@b 02:TestTagFailure: No direct cause for this failure. PSMFC will investigate this during the next site visit. 08/18/2011 06:24 darren@b 01:LowExcCurrent: There is no direct cause for this alarm. The threshold is well below the actual current and there was no indications of noise on the system during this alarm. PSMFC will monitor for future alarms. 08/16/2011 13:46 Dean_Bal The Smolt Monitoring Facility was placed in bypass mode from 0933-0956 on 16 August for minor sample flume maintenance. Efficiencies look good. 07/20/2011 09:09 Dean_Bal As of 19 July afternoon, Submerged Traveling Screen (STS) re-installation was completed in all PH2 units. Due to high flows and debris levels, STSs in PH2 were removed from 25 May to 19 July. Just to clarify the implications of this action: With the guidance screens back in place there will be much higher numbers of fish routed to the juvenile bypass system and significantly fewer passing through the turbines. A rise in PIT tag detections at B2J should be expected. 07/20/2011 07:54 Dean_Bal As of 19 July afternoon, Submerged Traveling Screen (STS) re-installation was completed in all PH2 units. All transceivers were checked for tuning, noise and detectability on the full flow. 10 test sticks were passed through the separator monitor with 100% detection and diversion. The PC clocks are within 3 seconds of each other and atomic time. No problems were discovered during this visit. 06/28/2011 14:37 Dean_Bal For the record: Due to high river flows and debris, the project was unable to keep up cleaning VBSs on screened units. Per regional agreement, Submerged Traveling Screens (STSs) were pulled from all units beginning on 24 May with all STSs removed by 25 May. STSs will likely remain pulled until flows recede. 06/24/2011 09:34 Nicole Updated MultiMon map file to B2J11175.MAP, which changes the action for ACs 101-115 (C. All transceivers were checked and adjusted if necessary for tuning, noise and detectability. 10 test sticks were passed through the separator monitor with 100% detection and diversion. The PC clocks are within 2 seconds of atomic time and each other. No problems were discovered during this visit. 05/16/2011 09:41 Nicole Updated MultiMon database and map files to B2J11136.DB and B2J11136.MAP, respectively. The database contains additional tag codes for AC-105 and AC-106 (C. Woodley's release 3). The map file changes the schedule for ACs 70-74 (D. Marsh's 2010 holdovers and 2011 yearling Chinook) from Thursday-Tuesday to Sunday-Thursday. Friday and Saturday are the days on which DGE will now be lower than expected because of the M/N collection ratio of AC-73. PC clocks were four seconds apart; they were reset to be within one second of each other and atomic time. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. 20 sticks were thrown on the SbyC gate and all were diverted properly. 2 were in the pipe when the Sample became active and DDS was not on so they went to the sample tank as they should. All sticks were read on all the appropriate coils. PC1 is 4 seconds behind atomci time and PC2 is 5 seconds behind atomic time. No problems to report. 05/11/2011 07:51 Nicole On Friday May 6 I implemented a new SbyC action code for D. Marsh (AC-73). This action for this group of fish is to collect 1 of 4 fish five days a week. Multimon does not allow one diversion unit to have both a schedule and an M/N collection ratio. To get around this, we have to set up several diversion units on a schedule that ignores the AC-73 tag codes. Unfortunately, Multimon still sees this as a divert action, consequently DGE suffers during those two days. The collection schedule currently runs from, 0700 Thursday to 0700 Tuesday. 05/11/2011 07:01 darren@b 03:TestTagFailure,04:TestTagFailure: These alarms will be investigated during a site GMC today. 05/09/2011 13:16 Nicole Updated MultiMon database to B2J11129.DB, which includes additional tag codes for AC-103 and AC-104 (C.
