Some units are not capable of achieving the 100 percent due to various and well documented reasons. BO3 pc clocks were within 6 seconds of each other and within 20 of atomic time. No other problems to report. 10/15/2007 09:52 Alan File BO207284.G9 was created on and submitted manually from PC2 via PCA. This is in response to the re-bott of PC1 on 10/11/2007. 10/11/2007 08:05 Alan Investigating file load issues showed that PC1 was still interrogating to BO207283.D1 as of this morning. PC2 was/is operating as normal. Minimon was exited on PC1 and all outstanding files archived. PC1 was then sucessfully re-booted remotely. Files BO207283.J2 through BO207284.F2 were uploaded manually from PC2 via PCA. The remaining file gap will be filled from PC2 when the exact duration is known. The clocks on both PCs were set to within one second of atomic time. 10/09/2007 11:40 Troy A site GMC was performed 10/09/2007. All transcievers were checked for tune and adjustments made were needed. A new chair was delivered to the pittag room. The mouse on the utility machine does not work. No other problems to report. 09/24/2007 12:41 Darren A site GMC was performed today. All transceivers were checked for tuning, noise, and detection ability. We are still getting High Temp alarms on some of the transceivers and they appear to be vaild alarms, although it is coll outside the direct sunlight is heating up the enclosures. No problems were found. 09/12/2007 08:13 darren@r 04:HighTemp,05:HighTemp,06:HighTemp,0C:HighTemp,0C:LowExcCurrent,0E:HighTe mp: Clearing the TASS panel. The high temp alarms are not uncommon this time of year. 09/11/2007 13:16 Troy A site GMC was performed 09/11/2007. All transceivers were checked for tune. OC which is reporting high temp alarms is in an elevated state of noise (mid teens). I verified that it is not the transceiver by swapping antenna cables. OC transceiver was quiet when connected to OE's antenna. The mouse on the utility machine does not work. No other problems to report. 09/11/2007 07:12 troy@ree 0C:HighTemp: Alarms are common for this time of year. 09/10/2007 07:33 darren@r 0C:HighTemp: Alarms not unusual for this time of year but I will be investigating tomorrow during a site GMC. 09/04/2007 07:27 troy@ree 0C:HighTemp: This alarm is common during this time of year. 09/04/2007 07:25 Alan Manually pushed BO207247.B1 to PTAGIS via PCA. 09/02/2007 08:24 darren@r 04:HighTemp,05:HighTemp,0C:HighTemp: Alarms are not uncommon during this time of year. 08/31/2007 08:44 darren@r 0C:HighTemp: Alarm is common for this time of year. 08/30/2007 17:05 Alan_Bro Sprint confirms a DSL outage with a return of service estimated to "8 or 8:30 tonight" 08/30/2007 10:26 Scott_Li The DSL connection has been resolved by Embark. Remote access has been restored to all sites at this location. 08/30/2007 09:41 Scott_Li The DSL connection for all these sites is down. Called Embark (DSL Provider) and they have indicated that the entire Hood River area is experiencing an outage. The ETR according to them is 12:30 pm PST. Will monitor situation and follow up if necessary. 08/30/2007 08:14 darren@r 03:HighTemp,04:HighTemp,08:HighTemp,0C:HighTemp: These alarms can be expected during the warm weather conditions. 08/17/2007 10:41 Alan A GMC was performed 8/17/2007. All transceivers were checked and tuned as necessary. Both clocks were set to within one second of atomic time, no problems found. 07/12/2007 08:31 darren@r 01:HighTemp,02:HighTemp,03:HighTemp,04:HighTemp,05:HighTemp,06:HighTemp,07 :HighTemp,08:HighTemp,09:HighTemp,0B:HighTemp,0C:HighTemp,0D:HighTemp,0E:H ighTemp,0F:HighTemp,10:HighTemp: These alarms are common during this time period. PSMFC will monitor for heat related failures. 07/11/2007 09:03 troy@ruf 03:HighTemp,04:HighTemp,05:HighTemp,08:HighTemp,0B:HighTemp,0C:HighTemp,0E :HighTemp: These alarms are prone to occur when the ambient air temperature is high. 06/19/2007 12:51 Alan A GMC was performed 6/19/2007. All transceivers were checked and tuned as necessary. The clocks on both PCs were set to within one second of atomic time, no problems found. 06/18/2007 08:49 Scott_Li Timer tag on unit 0A is not firing and looks as if the transceiver may be dying or dead. Will repair on the next GMC scheduled for Tuesday, 6/19. 06/13/2007 08:06 darren@r 0A:LowExcCurrent: These alarms were generated by PSMFC personnel during a site GMC. 06/12/2007 12:22 Darren A site GMC was performed today (6-12-06). All transceivers were checked for tuning, noise, and detection ability. No problems were found. The tag that is in the feild of antenna 0A is moving further out of the feild, the signal is now at about 20% as opposed to 100%. I am not sure which direction the tag is moving but we now have a chance for PITtag detections on this system. 06/10/2007 10:43 Dave I retrieved the outstanding BO207160.H1 file from the archive directory on PC1 and pushed it up to PTAGIS. 06/10/2007 10:43 Troy I PCA'ed into BO2 PC1 and verified that the BO207160.H1 is in the archive file. PSMFC will address this tomorrow. 06/07/2007 12:49 Darren A site GMC was performed today (6-7-07). All transceivers were checked, with the exception of 0A, for tuning, noise and detection ability. No problems were found. The antenna for 0A still is housing a PITtag in the field. 06/04/2007 09:26 Darren After checking the file size for the last file (14M). I PCA'd into the site and turned the "unique" function to "on" for transceiver 0A. The tag appeared sometime this morning and is still currently in the antenna. We will continue to monitor the signal level and detections to determine when the tag has left the detection system. 05/30/2007 13:06 scottl Performed GMC, all transceivers were tuned and recalibrated as necessary. No problems to report. 05/24/2007 07:55 darren@r 0D:LowExcCurrent: Alarm may have been generated by PSMFC personnel while performing a site GMC. 05/23/2007 12:09 scottl Performed GMC, all transceivers where tuned and calibrated as necessary. No problems to report 05/09/2007 09:03 alan@ree 06:TestTagFailure: This will be investigated today during a site visit. 05/01/2007 10:38 Troy A GMC was performed 05/01/2007. All transcievers were checked for tune and adjusted where needed. I could not tune the noise out of OC. This transciever is still reading pit tags well. The mouse for PC2 was swapped with the mouse on the utility machine as the mouse was not working on PC2. Rebooting PC2 did not fix the problem. The old PC2 mouse seems to work fine on the utility machine. Both PC's were set to within one second of atomic time. 04/17/2007 08:11 Scott_Li Big Brother indicates that the Bon Gateway is unreachable. We are working through the issues and will post information as it becomes available. 04/13/2007 14:24 Alan A GMC was performed 4/13/2007. All transceivers were checked and tuned as necessary. The clocks on both PCs were set to within one second of atomic time, no problems found. 03/23/2007 14:44 scottl Performed GMC, all transceivers were checked and retuned as necessary, no problems to report. 03/15/2007 07:27 alan@ree 07:LowExcCurrent: This alarm was generated by PTAGIS Field Operations personnel during a site visit. 03/14/2007 12:41 Darren PSMFC was on site to install a UPS on PC2 and to do a site GMC. The transceivers were checked for tuning, noise, and detection ability. No problems were found. 03/12/2007 09:00 Darren I contacted site Biologist Jonathan Rerecich this morning and he confirmed that the Ladder was watered up at around 16:30 on Friday afternoon. 03/11/2007 07:44 darren@r 08:TestTagFailure,09:TestTagFailure,0B:LowExcCurrent: The ladder was supposed to water up on Friday but after reviewing the status reports it appears that the ladder has not watered up. PSMFC will try to verify the situation on Monday. 03/08/2007 12:03 Darren The Data Collection Platform was out of service for approxiamtely 5 minutes because the UPS that was replaced earlier was placed on the wrong PC. It was discovered that both UPS's were failing to switch to battery back up. The new UPS was attached to PC1 and the old one was placed on PC2. PSMFC will have to replace the bad UPS when a new one can be brought down. Probably during next weeks site visit. The ladder is currently de- watered so no critical data was lost. 03/08/2007 08:05 scottl Replaced failed UPS on the backup computer with APC 900 VA/540 watts. 03/07/2007 13:18 Dave We're missing file BO207065.C1, spanning the interval from 0600 to 0731 on 3/6/07. Not an issue; the ladder is dewatered. 03/01/2007 12:47 scottl Annual site platform housekeepng has been done, Clocks on both PC1 and 2 were syncronized to atomic time. Ladder has not been watered, suspect ladder will water up on March 9th. No issues to report. 02/26/2007 15:25 Darren I spoke with Jon Rerecich this afternoon and he informed our office that the ladder did not water today and may not have water until March 9th. There is currently some AWS pump work that has not been completed. He will inform us when the site has water in the ladder. 02/26/2007 11:48 Dave I updated obs_site_dates to reflect note today's site water-up. I enabled site-checking for all sites at BON. 02/26/2007 07:45 Darren The last event log entry stated that the ladder had watered up that is an incorrect statement. The ladder is scheduled to water up today 2-26-07. PSMFC will confirm the actual water up date and time with site personnel. 02/26/2007 07:35 darren@r 02:TestTagFailure,08:TestTagFailure,09:TestTagFailure: Alarms will be addressed on the next site visit. The site was checked on Friday after the ladder had watered up. 02/14/2007 07:26 Alan_Bro A 16 minute data gap occurred on 2/12/2007. BO2 is currently de-watered, no pertinent data were lost. 02/03/2007 08:17 Darren It appears that the file being created by Minimon would not close on its own. I was able to PCA into the site and close the file and create a new file file BO207033.C1 spans the time from yesterday (2-2-07)at 06:00 thru this morning at 08:00. File BO207034.A1 starts at that time. 01/28/2007 09:27 Troy The wereabouts of BO207027.C1 will be investigated on Monday morning. 01/26/2007 07:56 Alan_Bro For unknown reasons, a 01:13 gap in data occurred on 1/25/2007. Calls to site personnel have been made to attempt to determine a cause (power outage?). Information will be posted as it becomes available. The gap is inconsequential as the ladder is currently de-watered. 01/23/2007 07:21 Alan_Bro Manually pushed BO207023.B1 to PTAGIS via PCA. 01/22/2007 08:06 Scott_Li This entry is for work done on Thursday, Jan 18th, 07. The firewall issues have been corrected but not resolved. Apparently, the configuration of the firebox in the AFF PIT room became corrupted in a way that did not allow incoming traffic and shutdown remote access and BB alerts. Todd K and I restored the configuration in the firewall and things started working correctly. At this time, there is no real good explanation for why this happen and how it was corrected. Todd I believe has a support thread started with Watch Guard in order to better understand these unknown phenomenons. 01/18/2007 13:16 Darren_C On Tuesday 1-16-07 PSMFC traveled to Bonneville to inspect all antennas and conduits on Cascade Island (BO2) and Washington Shore (BO3) and Washington Shore Slots (BO4). All antennas at Cascade Island were inspected on Tuesday and Washington Shore antennas were inspected on Wednesday. All problems that were discovered were reported to COE representative Jonathan Rerecich with the work to be performed by COE mechanics. The old timer tag cable was removed from the exciter conduit on antenna 11 and the connector was checked, cleaned and reseated. The connector on antenna 15 was checked, cleaned and reseated. 01/15/2007 09:05 Darren These sites along with BCC are still being indicated as not connected to the Portland office but the files are being submitted on the scheduled intervals. It is possible that something has changed in Portland that is not this connection. I am also having trouble with my VPN service from home so I cannot verify the status of PC2. I will have to dig further when I am in the office on Tuesday. 01/13/2007 09:24 Darren I received a message from chum root indicating that the platforms at Bonneville are not able to be pinged by big brother. I have checked and found that the platforms are indeed sending files into PSMFC but I cannot find the source of the problem. I will continue to monitor this situation and report any changes in the status of big brother. 01/02/2007 07:07 darren@r 06:TestTagFailure,09:TestTagFailure,10:TestTagFailure: Ladder is currently de-watered. 01/01/2007 00:00 PTOC_Bot Annual log file initiation for BO2 #### End of Event Log for BO2 ###
