The laptop does not recover from a power loss on its own. The power switch needs to be cycled in the event a power outage. This was relayed to the SMP crew at dSM1 at the time the laptop was installed and it was also suggested to the SMP crew to check the status of the computer prior to any subsampling in order to prevent data loss during a critical time. Dean Ballinger agreed to reiterate this to the SMP crew... 06/17/99 15:52 scottl Manual intervention to retrieve data files from this site has been on going. The ISP connection has not improved reliability in auto uploading process. files were manually fetched via laplink today. 06/09/99 10:56 scottl As of 1500 hrs 6/8/99, BVX,BVJ,BVA,B2J send mail process has been routed through Gorge.net. This means that all data files from these sites are routed through Gorgenets mail server (a local phone call ) and sent to Gladstone via the internet. This new approach of data file transfer looks to be much more robust and consistent than direct dial up ppp to Gladstone. 05/24/99 13:00 scottl The previous entry is information for LMJ only 05/11/99 10:46 sandyd 5/11 sandyd All notes attributed to 5/4 were actually done on 5/3. 05/11/99 09:54 sandyd 5/11 sandyd I laplinked into site in the afternoon of 5/5. 04/19/99 13:43 scottl Corrected From: line the mailer.ini file to reflect BVJ, Not B1J.
