Date Time Who What ---------- ----- -------- ----------------------------------------------- 08/09/2001 11:22 Don_Warf Shut down platform for the season at 12:28 yesterday. Manually sent current files. 08/03/2001 14:03 Dean_Bal Due to low river flows and the second powerhouse operational priority, all SMP related activities, including the flat plate PIT tag detection system in PH1 were terminated for the season on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at 0800 hours. 08/02/2001 08:05 Don_Warf From Rick Martinson: Due to the low river flows and the second powerhouse operational priority, the first powerhouse has been operated very little lately and there are no plans to operate it for the remainder of the passage season. Consequently, there are very few fish passing through the bypass system in the first powerhouse. This, combined with some unforeseen personnel shortages, prompted me to recommend early termination of the flat plate operation and the fish condition monitoring at B1. This suggestion was reviewed by the agencies and tribes and approved. So, effective Thursday, August 2, at 0800 hours, the flat plate PIT tag detection system will be shut down for the season. In a normal year it would have been operated until about mid- September, so this is about 6 weeks early. In the unlikely event that the first powerhouse is operated in August, we would be able to resume condition monitoring and flat plate operation, should that be deemed necessary. However, I think there is some interest (by NMFS) in removing the trap early this year for maintenance. If that happens, no further sampling would be possible. 07/31/2001 15:08 Dean_Bal BVX Flat Plate operations for July 30 and 31, 2001. Everything is fine. 05/30/2001 15:00 Dave Dean Ballinger reports: Conversation with operator in DSM-1 revealed that NMFS personnel performed routine maintenance on flat plate from approximately 1100 to 1130. Operator neglected to turn flat plate back on until 1200 when Scott L. noticed the unit not powered up. Total time of outage: one hour. 05/30/2001 12:52 scottl General maintenance check found no problems to report. Noticed that the flatplate was not powered up. Asked the operator about the situation and he indicated that it was not turned back on by mistake after some maintenence was done. Time back on ~ 12:00. 05/17/2001 08:08 Darren_C All sites were visited for site maintenance. No problems were found. Due to the high volume of fish at the juvenile facility no test sticks were thrown. The sample rate was at 1% (36 seconds an hour). All computers were labeled with PTOC labels. 05/09/2001 20:27 Don_Warf Visited site for a general maintenance check and found no problems. 04/25/2001 09:03 Scott_Li The Data collection computers were upgraded to Minimon ver 1.0.78 on 4/24/01. 04/20/2001 11:46 Scott_Li Remote access to the primary computer and manually sent data files. Current data files have successfully been transmitted to ptagis. The Minimon upgrade is scheduled for Wed.April 25th. during the general mantenence check. Will monitor and if nessesary take manual intervention to ensure data files are uploaded at least once per day up until the upgrade is completed. 04/19/2001 10:23 Darren_C It was noticed that files were not sent since 4-18-01 at about noon. I remotely sent files at 10:30 am on 4-19-01. I could not however restart minimon it was password protected. We will watch to see if files auto upload or not. 04/19/2001 09:07 Darren_C On Wednesday 4-18-01 I was on site to investigate the none load of Data for the past 2 Days. When I arrived I found that the auto upload was having trouble. The Error message "Error connecting to FTP Session # 25058-10057 Socket is not connected" I sent files manually with no trouble. I believe this has something to do with the Passive mode. Scott suggested that we upgrade the version of Minimon so we can unselect the passive mode. I also see that there were no files loaded since then. I will restart minimon and watch to see if the files will send automatically. If not I will have Don send the files manually. We will upgrade minimon remotely today or tomorrow. 04/09/2001 14:42 Dave BVX began data collection at 0700h (PST) on April 9, 2001. 04/05/2001 14:42 scott Actually it was set to bogata , or somewhere close, I think? Sorry for the 180 on the time. 04/03/2001 08:26 Carter_S The clocks on PC1 and PC2 were set 12 hours forward. E.g., rather than being set to 11:50 AM around noonish, they were set to 11:50 PM. I reset the time on PC1 and PC2, but not the utility machine. I'm not sure if about time was trying to work or not. Btw, I also reset the time zone to Pacific Standard Time rather than what it was set to (I think it was the small nation of Barundi -- wait, no, that's the 'survivors' island). 03/14/2001 08:36 Scott_Li The primary data collection computer had not sent files since , BVX01071.H 03/12/01 21:00 03/13/01 00:00 LOADED 0 days 00:00 1 03/13/01 01:23. Accessed platform and found that MiniMon was not even running. Meaning the application was CLOSED! This is odd, someone had to physically close the application... Will monitor and inform Rick Martinson of the situation... Invoked security measures to prevent application from being closed or configured. 03/09/2001 11:28 Scott_Li The interrogation platform has been install and is uploading data to Ptagis. A few issues still reside with this platform but is not related to the functionality or does not compromise data collection. 01/05/2001 18:00 Dave Manually created new event log for 2001. ####End of Event Log for BVX###
