Sampling (and PIT tag detection) activities will resume sometime during the last week of March, 2000. 09/27/99 09:39 davem Rex Baxter, Corps Biologist, reported the following facility events: 'We bypassed all B-side fish, directly from the separator to the river, from 0700 on May 25 to 1100 on May 26 (28 hours total). This was due to a lack of raceway space for holding fish. No A-side fish were bypassed. No other bypass occurred, although there were a couple of incidents that you might need to know about... Some barged fish from Little Goose may show up as being detected again at Bonneville Dam. On May 19 at about 1800 hours, two loaded fish barges approached Bonneville from upstream. The barge rider began pressurizing the barges in anticipation of releasing the fish after passing Bonneville. The front barge began to list severely because an air valve had been left in the "open" rather than "close" position. This allowed 2 of 4 main fish release valves to open at least partially, thus partially draining both port side holds. So, some fish were accidentally released above Bonneville. There were some 49,000 fish total in the two holds, all from Little Goose. On May 27 we managed to spill about 325 fish onto our barge dock while putting raceway fish into the barge. Most fish died, but we were able to toss about 50 live ones into the river. Nearly all of these live fish were hatchery steelhead...' 09/02/99 09:28 grj_lmj_ I updated etc/sites to stop checking grj, goj and lmj for data, since 400kHz interrogation at these sites was decommissioned yesterday to prepare for the new ISO installation. -- pcs 09/01/99 12:00 davem The PIT tag interrogation equipment was shut down at or after 7:00AM PDT and has been taken out of service. This is part of the scheduled conversion from the 400 kHz PIT tag to the new 134.2 kHz ISO compatible tag. Facility interrogations will resume (at the new frequency) when the collection site waters up in Spring of 2000. 08/17/99 11:13 Carter_S Removed counter files from /home/multimon/goj/pc1 and .../pc2 Removed 'stuff' from .../pc[12]/system to reclaim disk space. 08/09/99 11:35 scottl Per Rex Baxter, We experienced a power outage at Goose early this morning (Aug. 4, about 0213 - 0328 hours). Slide gates were disabled, all the lights were off, photocopier fried, etc. Fish were okay the whole time. Much of the powerhouse was dark, but only for 20 minutes or so. I know, because I was here. 08/05/99 12:30 carters reboot system boot Wed Aug 4 03:30 last command on gojsun.... power failure? 08/04/99 12:06 darren went down to check on the exciter for the B-separator coils 4C,4E.Replaced the exciter twice but could get one to work well on both sides.Swapped board to acheive the best exciter possible.Scott worked on the slide gate lubing up the piston and calibrating the Air release valve.Performed stick test wit good efficiency. 08/02/99 15:02 scottl Due to loss of T-communications in gladstone, PTOC Maint. personell called site and asked SMP to verify data collection platform was operational. Inserted marker in file for clarification. 05/27/99 07:00 davem Rex Baxter, the COE on-site biologist, reports that all "B"-side fish were bypassed to the river from 7:00AM (PDT) Tuesday, 5/25, until 11:00AM Wednesday, 5/26, due to lack of barge space. 05/24/99 13:01 scottl The previous entry is information for LMJ only 05/12/99 09:28 carters GOJ-2, A-RACEWAY/EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 05/12/99 09:27 carters GOJ-8, DIVERSION EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 05/12/99 09:26 carters GOJ-6, B-DIVERSION: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 05/12/99 09:26 carters GOJ-5, B-RACEWAY/EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 05/12/99 09:26 carters GOJ-5, B-RACEWAY/EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 05/12/99 09:25 carters GOJ-4, B-SEPARATOR GATE: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 05/12/99 09:25 carters GOJ-3, A-DIVERSION: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 05/12/99 09:25 carters GOJ-1, A-SEPARATOR GATE: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 05/10/99 13:25 scottl Loaded Multimon ver. 6.04 on both pc1 and pc2 at 10:30 am. Verified that the master/slave routine and gate control was functional. This version of Multimon will assure that full system redundancy is not compromised if the file server is not accessable. Loaded new database file goj99130.db on both collection PCs. per Sandy Downings request. 05/08/99 08:52 scottl Used telnet session to verify file content of current files being built. Also verfied that the preceding files closed cleanly with the correct footer information. 05/04/99 17:37 dlwarf Checked slide gate operation at site bio's request and found no problem. Checked tune on coils 48 and 4A on B-Sep. Found coils wet due to splashing out of separator. Made temporary splash guard to protect coils. Ran sticks on B-Sep and read 20 for 20 on all coils. 04/30/99 13:45 carters GOJ-2, A-RACEWAY/EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/30/99 13:45 carters GOJ-3, A-DIVERSION: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/30/99 13:44 carters GOJ-4, B-SEPARATOR GATE: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/30/99 13:43 carters GOJ-8, DIVERSION EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/30/99 13:37 carters GOJ-1, A-SEPARATOR GATE: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/27/99 11:44 carters GOJ-4, B-SEPARATOR GATE: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/27/99 11:43 carters GOJ-3, A-DIVERSION: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/27/99 11:39 carters GOJ-1, A-SEPARATOR GATE: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/27/99 11:38 carters GOJ-8, DIVERSION EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/27/99 10:57 dlwarf Visited for a general maintenance check. Will monitor for reoccurance. Cummulative efficiency report indicated low effficiency on coil 4c B-separator. Checked controller and exciter, no problems found. Stick tested monitor , All coils detected 20 of 20 tags. 04/23/99 13:00 scottl Recently O&M discovered cross talk ( return signals from one coil being recieved on another coil ) effecting several monitors. More defined, A tag code that was detected by one coil was also detected on a seperate monitor with the exact same time stamp. Efforts are being made to reduce or eliminate this problem. So far we have separated reader cards in question within the controllers and will continue to monitor and try and correct the situation. 04/19/99 13:53 scottl Changed Physical Com port settings back to factory defaults (Com2,IRQ3) to avoid any Conflicts with the master/slave link and PLC controls. 04/12/99 13:02 carters GOJ-8, DIVERSION EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/12/99 13:02 carters GOJ-6, B-DIVERSION: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 04/12/99 13:01 carters GOJ-5, B-RACEWAY/EXIT: Annunciator warnings acknowledged 03/31/99 07:10 scottl Pre season tuning has been complete .
