This problem is being addressed by PTOC personnel and Destron-Fearing. 10/25/2000 08:03 darren@p 51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:InputSyncLost: Alarm was generated by a random reader reset. This problem is being addressed by PTOC Personnel and Destron-Fearing. 10/16/2000 12:45 Dave From 0640 hours on October 10 to 2145 hours on October 11, no turbine units were available, as transmission lines were being serviced and tested. During this period turbine unit 5 was operated in "spin/no load" to maintain station service. Spills from 5.5 to 7.0 kcfs were necessary to maintain minimum river flow (12.0 kcfs). 10/16/2000 09:19 darren@p A1:RocketPortNoEOT,A2:RocketPortNoEOT,B1:RocketPortNoEOT: This problem is related to the power being turned Off and then On. We seen this happen the last time the power cycled. We will have to go to the site and stagger the status dumps and timer tags for those 3 transceivers. 10/12/2000 10:08 Dave Automated data collection at Little Goose was interrupted on 10/10 at 6:23 (PST) and again on 10/12 at 5:46 (PST), due to scheduled power outages. The first outage resulted in a four-hour gap in data collection, which the second outage lasted approximately 1/2 hour. 10/06/2000 08:33 Darren_C I went to the site to perform some maintenance on coils A1, A2, and B1 these coils were generating a Rocketport no EOT alarm since the power was restored on 10-2-00. The timer tags were firing at the same time and the status reports were all intertwined. I fired all the timer tags to stagger them and I then staggered the status reports on coils A1-A4, and B1-B4. This should eliminate the Rocketport no EOT alarms. I also attached all the nameplates to the monitors and Transceiver enclosures as well as the coil I.D.'s. 10/06/2000 08:24 darren@p A1:ReaderReset,A2:InputSyncDetect,A2:ReaderReset,A3:InputSyncDetect,A3:Inp utSyncLost,A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:InputSyncLost: Alarms were generated by PTOC personnel while doing site maintenance. The timer tags were fired to stagger the time when they are fired. I also staggered the status reports so they are not innertwined. 10/05/2000 08:10 darren@p A1:RocketPortNoEOT,A2:RocketPortNoEOT,B1:RocketPortNoEOT: These alarms are being generated by the fact that all 3 coils are firing their timer tags at the same time. I believe that this happened when the power was restored. There is another power outage on oct. 10th-12th.The problem will be addressed by PTOC personnel. 10/04/2000 09:07 darren@p A1:RocketPortNoEOT,A2:RocketPortNoEOT,B1:RocketPortNoEOT: It appears that all 3 coils with alarms are firing their timer tags at exactly the same time. We will investigate this and make the appropriate adjustments. 10/03/2000 10:43 Darren_C On Monday 10-2-00 There was a power outage that was necessary to remove the generator that had been installed on 8-17-00. The power was turned off at 06:30 and was turned back on at 18:45 (PDT). These times were reported by Rex Baxter, site biologist. The site has been Reporting consistently since. 10/03/2000 07:44 darren@p A1:RocketPortNoEOT,A2:RocketPortNoEOT,B1:RocketPortNoEOT: Alarm may have been caused by an influx of Data at one time. We will monitor the site for further EOT alarms. 10/02/2000 08:25 Don_Warf The site is scheduled for a power outage this morning. The electronics will go down and come back up without intervention. The system will be checked remotely after power is restored. Duration of the outage will be posted tomorrow. 10/02/2000 08:12 darren@p 52:InputSyncDetect,52:ReaderReset: This alarm was generated by a random reset. This problem is being addressed by PTOC personnel and Destron- Fearing. 09/19/2000 09:00 Darren_C A General Maintenance Check was performed. Transceivers were checked for Current and Noise. Sticks were tested on the separator monitors with 100 0.000000e+00fficiency. The priorities for the rocketports on all monitors except the separator were changed to LOW leaving the separators HIGH. 09/15/2000 15:54 Dave Subsequent to the scheduled power outage on 8/17, power was restored to the PIT tag interrogation equipment, but the data collection computers were inadvertantly powered down until the morning of 8/18. I identified one PIT tag, 3D9.1BF1006D28, recorded on the separator transceivers during this period. I submitted that information to the PTAGIS3 database, as a recapture event, in tagging file DPM00230.LGS. The ultimate passage disposition (river or transport) of this tagged animal is unknown. 09/08/2000 10:21 darren@p B3:InputSyncDetect,B3:InputSyncLost: alarm generated by PTOC personnel while doing site maintenance. 09/07/2000 16:55 scott_li GMC found no problems to report. A and B separator diverted 10 with 100 percent diversion efficiency. Downloaded buffer contents from coils A3,A4,B3,B4 and sent the text files to Dave Marvin. This was done to fill the void from the poweroutage on Sept.17,00 09/05/2000 08:14 darren@p A2:RocketPortNoEOT,C2:RocketPortNoEOT,D2:RocketPortNoEOT: This alarm may be caused by the input of data all at once. We may have to stagger the Times that the timer tags and status reports are relayed to the computer. 08/28/2000 15:19 Dave Backfilled missing collection data with GOJ00231.102. 08/22/2000 16:14 scott_li GMC found no problems to report. Sticks were thrown on the separator coils with 100 0iversion efficiency. Temp data was downloaded from the data logger on the W. Raceway enclosure. 08/21/2000 16:28 Don_Warf Due to an omission in the PLC program the "Divert During Sample" feature was not working until corrected on 8/18/00 at 11:30. The switches were thrown on 7/29/00 at 7:00. 08/21/2000 08:52 Darren_C On Thursday 8-17-00 the computer platform and site was powered down because of a scheduled power outage at 05:50. The restoration of power is not yet known at this time but will be verified today. As a result of the outage the computers were accidentally turned OFF. This was an oversight by me when showing the site BIO how to turn the computers ON I must have shut them OFF. Scott went up on friday and turned them ON. I am currently trying to get a hold of the site BIO to confirm the time of the power restoration. 08/21/2000 08:06 darren@p D2:TestTagFailure: Test tag fired on the next scheduled time. I will monitor this site for further failures. 08/10/2000 09:37 scott_li Hobo temp data loggers was installed inside selected transceiver enclosures at each of these sites 8/9/00. Data will be extracted in approx. 2 weeks. 08/08/2000 08:00 darren@p D1:ReaderReset,D2:InputSyncDetect,D2:InputSyncLost: Inputs sync lost/detected was generated by reader reset on coil D1. This is being addressed by PSMFC. 07/18/2000 08:10 jndchase On Monday 7-17-00 COE scheduled a power outage. PTOC personnel was on site at 5:45 a.m. and was told by the seperator operator that the schedule had been changed from 6:30 a.m. to 6: a.m. Samples were taken that needed to be and then PTOC did a controlled shutdown of the interrogation platform and all transceivers. Power was restored at 1:30 PTOC personnel then brought the platform back up and all transceivers. Sticks were thrown on both seperators with 100 0.000000e+00fficiency. 07/18/2000 07:55 darren@p 11:ReaderReset,12:InputSyncDetect,12:ReaderReset,13:InputSyncDetect,13:Rea derReset,13:TestTagFailure,51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:ReaderRese t,91:ReaderReset,92:InputSyncDetect,92:ReaderReset,93:InputSyncDetect,93:R eaderReset,A1:ReaderReset,A2:InputSyncDetect,A2:ReaderReset,A3:InputSyncDe tect,A3:ReaderReset,A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset,B1:ReaderReset,B2:In putSyncDetect,B2:ReaderReset,B3:InputSyncDetect,B3:ReaderReset,B3:TestTagF ailure,B4:InputSyncDetect,B4:ReaderReset,B4:TestTagFailure,C1:ReaderReset, C2:InputSyncDetect,C2:ReaderReset,C3:InputSyncDetect,C3:ReaderReset,D1:Rea derReset,D2:InputSyncDetect,D2:ReaderReset,D3:InputSyncDetect,D3:ReaderRes et: All alarms were generated by PTOC personnel. The COE scheduled a power outage on 7-17-00 at 6:30 a.m. Power was restored at 1:30 p.m. PTOC personnel did a controlled shut down of the platform and transceivers. 07/12/2000 08:36 casey@ps 22:InputSyncDetect,22:ReaderReset: Input sync detected caused by reader reset. D/F addressing the issue. 07/07/2000 08:32 darren@p 22:InputSyncDetect,22:ReaderReset: Transceiver generated it's own reader reset. This did not cause any problem on transceiver 23 however. This problem is being addressed by Destron-Fearing. 06/27/2000 07:54 darren@p 12:InputSyncDetect,13:InputSyncDetect,13:InputSyncLost: Alarms were generated by PSMFC personnel while replacing transceiver 11. This replacement was due to the fact that the transceiver had lost power over the weekend. The transceiver will be looked at in the lab and then sent to Destron-Fearing for repair or replacement. 06/26/2000 15:51 Darren_C Site maintenance. Transceiver 11 was completely dead when I arrived. There was no display and the voltages were real low +VA, +VE, and +VM. I think that the ripple attenuator might have gone out on this transceiver. I will know more tomorrow when I do some testing. The transceiver was replaced and retuned. I also retuned coil 12 and 13. I ran 10 sticks through the monitor and had 100 0.000000e+00fficiency. 06/26/2000 08:18 darren@p 12:InputSyncLost,13:BadOscFreq,13:InputSyncDetect,13:InputSyncLost,13:LowE xcCurrent: It appears that coil 11 has lost communications and its sync out. This looks to have happened friday. I checked the reports and coil 11 is not responding. I will visit site today. This could be the cause of the alarms on coils 12, 13. 06/20/2000 08:28 Darren_C A General maintenance check was performed. No problems were found. The separators responded with 100 0.000000e+00fficiency with sticks. 06/20/2000 08:09 darren@p 51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:InputSyncLost: There was a reader reset on transceiver 51 that caused the input sync lost on transceiver 52. This problem is under investigation by Destron-Fearing. 06/13/2000 08:58 scott_li General maintenance check found no problems to report. Diversion and detection efficiency was 99 percent for A and B slide gates. 06/05/2000 15:22 Darren_C A GMC was performed. All transceivers were checked for current and noise levels. Test sticks were thrown on the separators with 100% efficiencies. 05/30/2000 16:08 Don_Warf Visited site for a general maintenance check and found no problems. Ran 20 sticks on each separator monitor with these results: A1 read 19. A2 read 20. A3 read 20. A4 read 20. B1 read 20. B2 read 20. B3 read 20. B4 read 20. 05/25/2000 12:49 Dave Updated Multimon db with GOJ00146.DB; contains 1050 less AC21 than previous db, per Doug Marsh's request. Replaced db "remotely" from GOJ-Sun console. Success on PC2, but PC1 went from "cleardb" to "savedb" without performing the "loaddb" sequence, resulting in a db with 0 records. PC1 locked up when I attempted to perform the actions manually within Multimon. Rebooted PC1 and performed db swap from the PC console, successfully. Good thing I was here. 05/23/2000 15:36 Darren_C A general maintenance check was performed. The effeiciencies of the separator coils were 100 0.000000or bo5th the A side and the B side. 05/18/2000 09:06 Darren_C The B Raceway monitor was reconfigured so that there are 2 coils in the down stream monitor and 1 coil in the upstream monitor. We will evaluate this configuration and see if this improves the efficiencies. The hydraulics are what prompted this change. 05/18/2000 08:10 darren@p 21:LowExcCurrent,21:ReaderReset,21:TestTagFailure,22:InputSyncDetect,22:Re aderReset,22:TestTagFailure,23:BadExcFreq,23:BadOscFreq,23:InputSyncDetect ,23:LowExcCurrent,23:ReaderReset,23:TestTagFailure: These alarms were caused by PSMFC personnel doing work on the B raceway coils. The coils were reorientated in the monitor to try and improve the efficiency of the monitor. We are trying to overcome a hydraulic situation. We will monitor this monitor and evaluate the orientation to see if the problem improves. 05/16/2000 14:51 dlwarf@p B3:TestTagFailure: Test tag failure noted. 05/09/2000 08:04 darren@p A2:TestTagFailure,A3:TestTagFailure,A4:TestTagFailure,SLC500:CommsFailure: alarms occured during a PSMFC test and GMC on the facility. 05/08/2000 10:25 darren@p 51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:InputSyncLost,B4:TestTagFailure: The reader reset on coil 51 caused the loss of sync on coil 52. The reader reset is still being looked into by Destron. The timer tag failure may have been caused by a tag that was in the feild at the same time as the test tag firing. I will check out the timer tag today while doing a GMC. 05/04/2000 09:18 darren_c Dave M. loaded a new database with added tags for Doug Marsh. Performed a GMC ran sticks on both separators with 100 0.000000e+00fficiencies. 05/04/2000 08:15 darren@p SLC500:CommsFailure: SLC Comms failure noted. We will watch for further failures. 05/03/2000 16:00 Dave Darren and I loaded a new database, GOJ00124.DB. It contains 40k additional tags from the COE/NMFS marking at LGR (AC21). A copy of the database was placed in the multimon/goj directory on gojsun, as well as in the pub/multimon/Site_Configurations/GOJ directory at ftp.psmfc.org. 04/25/2000 15:24 scott_li General maintenence check found no problems to report. Stick tested separator monitors and checked timing on slide gates. Stick tests resulted in 100 0etection efficiency on both separator monitors. A-sep gate , delay before operate parameter was reduced from a delay of 100ms to 0 delay. 04/20/2000 16:27 scott_li The Hydrolic conditions on the B-Side flume directly upstream from the B-Raceway/exit monitor is effecting the orientation of the fish passing through this monitor resulting in less than expected reading efficiencies. This problem was brought to the attention of the Rex Baxter, (Site Bio). Rex offered some ideas on how to improve the flow conditions without adversely affecting fish passage while addressing our concerns of optimal fish orientation. One idea he had was to create a water dam in side the flume upstream from this monitor therefore creating a flat water fall for the fish to pass over. Rex is checking into the feasability of this idea with his Maintanence people for now. PTOC will follow up with Rex on this approach. 04/19/2000 07:07 darren@p B1:TestTagFailure: This problem could be due to the fact that there were tags in the feild while the test tag was trying to fire. I will watch to make sure that this is not a problem. 04/12/2000 08:50 darren_c April 4, 2000 Sean Casey and I ran a controlled stick test at the facility. Only the Separator and Raceway monitors (coils A1-4, B1-4, 11-13, 21-23) were testable due to the fact that we were running 14" sticks. The B Raceway was the only noted problem. This may be caused by a hydraulic issue entering the monitor. This will be looked at during the week of April 10, 2000. 04/06/2000 08:17 darren@p C2:LowExcCurrent,D1:TestTagFailure: These failures were generated while running stick tests on 4/4. C2 might have failed while running fish tests on the next day. I will watch to see if failure occurs agian. 04/05/2000 18:00 Dave_Marvin I installed a revised map file (GOJ00096.MAP) at approximately 10:30 am (PST) today. This map correctly directs 800f the COE/NMFS transpor- tation fish (AC #21) into the raceways for transportation. The previous map incorrectly directed 1000f the tagged fish to transpor- tation. 04/05/2000 18:00 Dave The scheduled ISO fish evaluation was conducted today between noon and 2:00 pm (all times reported as PDT). Facility sub-sampling was suspended during the tests. All fish exiting the separator were diverted to the river between 12:00 and 2:00 pm. Normal collection, PIT diversion, and subsampling operations resumed at 2:00 pm. 04/01/2000 07:00 Dave Little Goose Juvenile Facility watered up at 7:00 am. PIT tag interrogation and Separation by Code (SbyC) capabilities are enabled at water-up; the current Multimon lookup list is GOJ00089.DB. 04/01/2000 09:53 dlwarf@p B1:ReaderReset,B2:InputSyncDetect,B2:InputSyncLost,B4:InputSyncDetect,B4:I nputSyncLost: Random reader reset noted on coil B1. Coils B2 and B4 lost sync due to reset on B1. 03/31/2000 09:35 darren_c A stick test was completed on Monday March 27,2000. The results of the test were as follows: A-separator B-Separator A-Raceway B-Raceway Coil A1-100 B1-100 11-100 21-100 Coil A2-99 B2-100 12-100 22-100 Coil A3-100 B3-100 13-99 23- 99 Coil A4-100 B4-99 The total number of sticks ran on each monitor is 100. 03/30/2000 15:42 dougc B2:InputSyncLost: Message for InputSyncLost at B2. 03/30/2000 15:41 dougc This is a test. 03/30/2000 15:41 dougc This is a test. 03/30/2000 15:41 dougc This is a test. 03/28/2000 08:19 dlwarf Low exc. current on coil D2 caused by PSMFC maint. 03/28/2000 08:17 dlwarf Low Exc Current on coil C2 was caused by PSMFC maint. 03/28/2000 08:08 darren_c Sticks were thrown on Both SEPARATOR monitors and both RACEWAY monitors. the results were as follows: A-SEPARATOR B-SEPARATOR A-RACEWAY B-RACEWAY coil A1- 100oil B1-100oil 11-100oil 21-100% coil A2- 100oil B2-100oil 12-100oil 22-100% coil A3- 100oil B3-100oil 13-100oil 23-99% coil A4- 100oil B4-100% These results were based on 100 sticks through each monitor. 03/24/2000 08:11 dlwarf SLC comms failure noted 03/23/2000 11:37 dlwarf Reader reset on coil 22 is recorded.
