The coil and cables will checked to ensure that there is no arcing causing the "overrun" conditions. 07/15/2004 08:28 troy In regard to recent ‘erroneous’ Sample Rates at GRA, LMJ and MCJ: These sites have experienced a problem with erroneous sample rates being written to the raw file. It has been determined that these occurrences happen during brief power outages and ‘brown outs’. The values that end up in the raw file are not enterable via the PV600 or DTAM. Limits are set in those HMI devices that will not allow the user to enter such values. Every time an erroneous sample rate shows up in the raw file it is surrounded by other PLC messages displaying their ‘reset’ state which means the PLC is either loosing power (which it hasn’t lost enough power to trip the AC POWER OFF PLC message) or the PLC has lost power which does trip the AC POWER OFF PLC message. In all cases when power is either restored or returned to its normal voltage, the proper sample rate is written to the raw file and the other PLC messages that are actually in the ‘set’ state are written to the raw file. All transceivers were checked for tuning and noise. Transceiver 23 was checked for the "overrun" conditions that were on TASS this morning, I found that the transceiver was noisy, I retuned both 22 and 23 and I also found that the monitor lids were not secured, after retuning and securing the lids the noise on both 22 and 23 wasbetween 4-6%. I could not throw sticks through the separator monitors due to the fact that the SbyC tanks are dry and the site personnel were busy offloading fish to a waiting barge. The DGE report for this facility has not shown any drops in efficiencies in quite some time. I did however trigger the gates manually. I spoke with Bill Wassard from NMFS about the side to side SbyC gate and he informed me that Jim S. and he worked on the gate yesterday and they found that the RAM seemed to be worn and that they were going to let it run until it failed and then they would replace it. The site is watered up and all pre-season tuning and gate timing has been completed. The 3-way side to side SByC has a problem slamming shut when returning from the left to center position. All efforts were made to correct the situation but were unsuccessful. Jim Simonson from NOAA fisheries has been notified of the situation and will tend to the gate. With feedback from PSMFC, Jim suspects that the problem is mechanical and again will make repairs. The 3-way gate ,although not functioning perfectly, was successful in diverting all sticks tags to right and left tanks. The A and B diversion gates were tested and timed on an individual coil bases and was also successful in diverting all stick tags at 100 percent efficiency. Stick tag detection results. All new cylinders, ASCO solenoids, copper air tubing, plastic air hose's, and fittings are replaced. The two fish release 6" ROVALVES located at the PIT tag holding tank have been rebuilt. Looks like we'll be opening up the orifices and going to bypass sometime next week - depends on when fish screens are lowered back into position. The outfall pipe is scheduled to be put back in place on March 24th. We plan to water up the facility on Monday, March 29th and we start collecting April 1 and transportation April 2. "Primary Dewaterer" has some structural integrity issues, and that the Outfall Pipe is currently out of service. The Primary Dewaterer needs some welding, the Corp has not yet scheduled an inspection. The Outfall Pipe also needs some support work, scheduled to be completed by 3-13-2004. The water up date for the facility could still be the around 4-1-2004, but could also be impacted by these activities. John said he will know more next week. The PLC program was modified so that AC POWER ON will make it to the raw file following a extended power outage at the site. This message will reach the file within 5 seconds of Multimon booting up when power is restored. This fix was necessary as the PLC will boot faster than Multimon will and the message was getting lost after extended power outages that resulted in the platform going down. All switches were toggled execpt for the PRIMARY BYPASS switch and the sample rate was changed from .5% to 50% and then back to .5% for Doug Clough. This facility is not watered up and therefore has no fish data. This is so that we will avoid the numerous messages (generated by the bad switch) we would recieve. Automated file uploading has been resumed.
