The primary computer is inaccessible and the state of it is unknown. The site is down for the season and file submission checking will be re-engaged when the problem is corrected. 12/08/2008 16:18 Scott_Li Remoted into PC2 and tried to ping PC1 without success. Was able to ping the back up computer at GRJ so the GOJ PC1 is either dead or balled up so bad that it wont even receive a Ping. Will further diagnose and repair when appropriate. The site is inactive at the time. 12/08/2008 08:30 Troy Remotely accessed the PLC and cleared the trouble light that was reported by site maintenace personnel. The trouble light was the result of the rams being replaced. No diversions were missed as the ram replacement was conducted during the off season. 12/08/2008 07:11 Darren I was able to PCA into the site and verify that PC1 does not appear to be active. PC2 is diverting and collecting data. This site is not currently in an active collection state for PITtag information and the PC will be dealt with when necessary. 12/06/2008 09:38 Troy Site still isn't loading. Attempted to gain access to all three PC with no luck. The site is either without power or there is a network issue. PSMFC will try to contact someone at the site early next week. There is no PIT tag detection in primary bypass (at least until next year), so detection activities have ended for 2007. We were inadvertently blocked and Chris Sampier did not realize that we owned the whole block of addresses. He initially unblocked only one address which allowed us to PCA into the sites but we could not send any data to our servers. After he realized that we needed all the addresses we were able to get in and send the files via PTTP and PCA. We will monitor for the 16:00 upload to ensure that the sites are loading on their own and continue to watch fro any other aspects that may not be working. The sites appear to be functioning properly at this time. 09/18/2008 13:15 Darren_C The PCA connection has been resolved. Although we can get to the platforms we are still unable to send data or do any ftp sessions from the sites out. I am still working to resolve this issue. Dave Marvin has grabbed the outstanding files and uploaded them manually. Until this issue is fully resolved we not receive any files from the WW district sites. 09/18/2008 09:28 Darren_C I am currently in the process of trying to get in touch with Chris Sampier or Antonio Sanchez from the Portland District office to find out why the Walla Walla district sites have no communications. I am not able to get to any of the platforms and they are not able to send. All transceivers were checked for tuning and noise. The timer tag on antenna B3 was replaced due to failure. The ignor.tag file was altered and uploaded to ftp server. The clocks on PC1 and PC2 were over a minute off from atomic time. Both clocks were adjusted to within one second of atomic time and each other. No problems were found. This led us to a reboot of PC2 after which we discovered that although we were receiving the "divert all" message on PC1 the gates were not being opened. Upon further investigation we discovered that the gate function was not working after the 06:00 file change. PC1 was rebooted remotely and the situation was rectified and verified. A patch file (GOJ08192.208) was created and uploaded to PTAGIS as a result. 07/10/2008 08:32 darren@b 93:RocketPortNoEOT,SLC500:CommsFailure: The alarm on antenna 93 was a result of the sheduled power outage. The SLC500 error is not uncommon and the PITtag in question was properly diverted. 07/09/2008 21:50 Dave A scheduled power outage occurred at 9:00:00 AM (PST) today. GOJ-PC1 lasted 15 minutes on the UPS before shutting down. Power was restored at 9:46:24. One problem noted is that the B-Slide gate control oiler has an air leak from the top adjustment knob and needs to be replaced. Informed site maintenance personell of issue but they were allready aware and are ordering the replacement. This issue should be resolved ASAP. If the oiler cap breaks completely the B-side gate wil become disabled. Also, informed them to reduce the amount of oil on the A-gate as there is WAY to much in the control manifolds. This issue should be monitored for a quick turn around. Gate PSI are both at 90 PSI.PC clocks are within 4 seconds of each other. For whatever reason, could not get the NIST time applet to load to check for clock drift. 07/02/2008 07:42 troy@bay SLC500:CommsFailure: Noted 07/01/2008 14:02 Dave Following this morning's power outage, I pcA'd into both computers and restored MultiMon to full-screen operation. The power was off from 8:15:33 until 10:57:30, during which no PIT tag detections were reported. The computers, running on UPS batteries, did not die until between 9:30 and 9:45. I manually CLOSED the GOJ08183.104 file with a 9:45 timestamp. I reset the PC clocks, both of which were about a minute fast, to within one second of each other and atomic time. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. All gates were test fired and no problems were found. There was an earlier B GATE TROUBLE which was the result of the air being turned off so the oiler could be filled. PC1 was 68 seconds behind atomic time and PC2 was 54 seconds behind atomic time. Both were set to within 1 second of atomic time and each other. GOJ08168.105 was submitted prior to the patch file GOJ08168.206. All other files on PC2 were archived. Site biologist Eric Volkman confirmed that yesterday the facility was placed into Primary Bypass (separator slide gates opened) while the separator was cleared of debris. This is the same process that was done at the end of May. The process started at 11:58 and was completed at 12:42 on 6-11-08. Tried a spare 3 way solenoid and this did not help. Played with the timing and this did not help. Tightened the small needle valve screw that is on the cylinder and this seemed to help but by this time most of the oil had been removed. As stated in a previous pit event B gate sensor 2 being stuck on caused the alarm but there is no apperant cause as to why the sensor was stuck on. There is two possiblities, 1 something such as a bird or spider parked in front of the sensor, the other is perhaps far fetched in that some source of light came through on of the many holes and 'tricked' the sensor. To eliminate these two possibilities as much as possible duct tape was put over all the holes, save for the slot that the sensor are mounted in. 3 rungs of logic were added to the PLC to capture the Month, Day, Hour and Min when the sensor is turned on the first and second time. The third time the sensor is stuck on MM receives a message from the PLC and this is captured in the raw file. What ever was causing B Gate Sensor 2 to stay on is no longer there. I have watched several diversions remotely and all looks to be well. The gate trouble light has been cleared. 04/28/2008 08:08 Don_Warf All, Little Goose JFF experienced a planned power outage this morning (04/28/08) from approximately 0720 to 0732. The power has been restored and normal operations have resumed. We anticipate an outage of similar length to occur at approximately the same time on Wednesday 04/30/08, and every 48 hours thereafter until main station power is restored. Remotely accessed the PLC and cleared the alarms. PSMFC will monitor for future problems. 04/24/2008 08:05 Darren I arrived yesterday to perform a site GMC only to discover that the power to the faiclity was still out. There was a scheduled power outage that was only supposed to last for part of the day. I was informed by site personnel that the power was disconnected at 07:30 and may not be restored until sometime today (4-24-08). As of 08:00 it appears that the power is still not functional. Double checked with the Sep Operator that he would inspect the gate for any fish that may have been diverted to the right tank during testing. A power outage is tenuously scheduled for Little Goose JFF on Wednesday April 16, from 0700 to 1200 to complete final electrical installation of the new back-up diesel generator. All systems will remain water-up and the facility may revert from secondary bypass to primary bypass during the outage - all depending on fish numbers and probability of mishap. Over the past couple of days, an estimated 500 smolts are passing through the facility per day - mostly steelhead with some holdover Chinook. The outage will have impacts to all electrical at the JFF - Corps and ODFW computers and several valve operators. Reconfigured PC1 to the standard GOJ- GEN database, map, and hardware files without incident. PC2 had problems with the hard disk, including cross-linked and/or missing files. The drive or power supply is whining. The zipped archives of the 2003-2005 PC2 data files were corrupted and lost, as were the first 117 days' of 2007. After rebooting PC2, the Multimon.pif file in the windows/startup directory was corrupted; I replaced it with a copy of the shortcut from the desktop. I also had to uninstall, download, and reinstall PTTP- Uploader on PC2. At this point, PC2 is reset with the standard GOJ-GEN database, map, and hardware files.
