When arrived on-site, logged into the existing SW and noticed that the VPN tunnel back to Sellwood was not even in the configuration. Not sure why this was. Chris M. and I rebuilt the SW cfg and re-established the tunnel. Exported the current VPN configuration to the GOJ-Util\Users\downloads dir for archiving. Will monitor situation. PC2 lags pc1 clock by 15 seconds. THey will be addressed during the next site visit. 11/22/2010 11:45 Scott_Li Site personnel assisted with power cycling the DSL modem and Sonicwall in order to restore the VPN connection. Worked with Chris M. this morning on making some changes to the sonicwall in order try and solidify this VPN connection. Will monitor. 11/18/2010 15:56 Alan The site Bio rebooted the Sonicwall and DSL modem, but it has not fixed the tunnel being down. The PC1 is sending files at its regularly scheduled times. Chris is working to re-establish the tunnel from Sellwood. 11/14/2010 08:09 Darren These sites had trouble loading the first two files of the day today. I had trouble with the loading in some cases it took 5 tries to get the files to PTAGIS. 11/12/2010 11:10 Darren The tunnel was restored around 11:00 this morning. 11/12/2010 08:37 Darren PSMFC personnel is in the process of contacting site personnel to try and reboot the sonicwall to restablish the tunnel to PTAGIS. The files are being sent and processed but the connection is hsowing red on BB. 11/11/2010 16:23 Darren The DSL link was restored around 13:00 this afternoon, The outstanding files have been uploaded and processed. The Tunnel to GOJ will need to be rebooted which will be done tomorrow with the help of site personnel. 11/11/2010 09:39 Darren As of 09:38 the DSL link problems for these sites has not been resolved. CentryLink is still currently trying to resolve this problem. 11/11/2010 07:05 Darren I spoke with CenturyLink Tech Ryan Robinson and he informed me that at 05:22 this morning they had a router go out in Cheney. The problem is being resolved but there was no ETR. He thought it wouldn't be long. I will remote in and send the files once the link has been established. 11/08/2010 15:01 Dave Update to 12-minute gap in data collection at 0800 05nov10: inspection of files on both PC1 and PC2 show an abrupt interruption in data collection at 8AM. There was no loss of power to the transceivers prior to this time. Data collection resumed on both PCs when power was restored at 0812. During my investigation I reset the PC clocks, which were both two minutes fast, to within one second of each other and atomic time. 11/08/2010 13:38 Alan Examination of PC2 shows no data to fill the 12 minute gap on 11/5/2010. 11/08/2010 13:37 Darren A site GMC was performed today (11-8-10). The facility is in primary bypass but the transceivers were still checked at the JFF. The full flow transceivers were checked for tuning, noise, and detectability. The sonicwall firmware was updated and the sonicwall rebooted. No other problems to report. 08/26/2010 12:00 scottl The issue with the Sonicwall VPN tunnel was a firewall setting in the DSL modem. The only explanation for this occurrence is when the modem was reset or power cycled, the new static address for the modem was instantiated and along with that, other settings were changed such as the firewall. Once we turned the FW setting to completely OFF , the VPN tunnel was re-established. 08/23/2010 16:18 Scott_Li The DSL connection went down at ~ 1330 hrs today. Placed trouble ticket with Century Link, they indicated that a technician will be calling Scott cell or the main Kennewick office number ½ hr prior to their arrival on- site. reports the following: Little Goose underwent too short power outages recently. The first occurred on August 3 from 0950 to 1000 hours to switch from station power to back-up diesel generator power. The second occurred on August 4 from 1530 to 1550 hours to swap the 3-phase leg from the back-up DG. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. Upon arrival I noticed that the generator was running. I confirmed with a tech that the site was running on generator power and would be for the next couple of weeks while a line was being repaired or replaced. No transceivers appear to be effected by this. 10 sticks were thrown on A and B gate. The results are as follows: A1 10 of 10 A2 10 of 10 A3 9 of 10 A4 9 of 10 B1 10 of 10 B2 9 of 10 B3 9 of 10 B4 10 of 10 B3 and B4 coils had slide down the flume ~2 inches. They were put back in place and re-tuned. Attempts to hold the antennas in place were made by placing tape on the down stream lip of the antenna. PC1 is 19 seconds behind atomic time and PC2 is 22 seconds behind atomic time. This is at least the 4th time this year that this has happened. PSMFC will consider cutting down the length of the sticks to see if this eliminates the problem. Several attempts were made to free the stick including shutting off the water and opening the gate to see if it was accessible. The separator operator could not see a stick. PSMFC will monitor the stick tag report to see when it comes free. PSMFC will investigate during the next site visit. 06/12/2010 08:52 darren@b SLC500:CommsFailure: The last PITtag that generated an SLC Comms error was diverted properly. There is a very hgih volume of fish moving through this system and this error is not uncommon. 06/11/2010 09:19 alan@bay E2:RocketPortNoEOT,F2:RocketPortNoEOT,SLC500:CommsFailure: These alarms are all one-time occurrances. The SLC alarm was generated during a database update and did not affect disposition of the tagged fish. The E2 NoEOT removed the text prior to a timer tag, but did not affect the timer tag code. The F2 NoEOT occluded a tag code, but the interrogation occurred sucessfully on F1. PTAGIS Field Operations will investigate at the next opportunity. 06/11/2010 08:58 Troy I didn't have time to verify my suspicion that a stick had held up during my stick testing of A and B gates. When I collected my sticks at the SbyC tank I was 1 stick short but when I ran the report I had all the sticks. I went back out to the tank and found another stick. This morning I was able to verify that the stick in question only read on B3 and 11 minutes later it showed up on the C coils. This situation has been seen at least 2 other times this year. The transceiver is alive and is detecting PITtags with a high efficiency. There have been several A Gate Trouble lights which have been caused by Sensor 2 being missed. Sensor 2 was replaced even though it appeared to be working properly and the alignment with the flag did not seem to be an issue. A few adjustments were made to the timing to eliminate an occasional bang. There is a theory that the banging causes the flag to vibrate which in turn causes sensor 2 to briefly shut off. This is difficult to prove but is being taken into consideration, thus the adjustments. Logically it would seem like sensor 3 would be more susceptible to vibration....? Archived all outstanding PC2 data files. 05/14/2010 11:43 Troy At the site to investigate the Gate Trouble Light. Sensor 2 on A gate had been missed enough times to trip the alarm. I had cleared the counter prior to leaving Kennewick and when I arrived we had not incurred a single 'sensor missed' count. I removed the guard and checked the flag to see if I could determine the cause or create a miss. I could not. I cleaned the face of all the sensors on A gate and cycled the gate several times. I questioned the staff as to why we did not receive a call when the trouble light came on and it appears as if one thought the other had called. So there isn't a problem with the lights which was initially suspected. One note of concern, when I arrived the tape had peeled back off of the Pit Tag Room door latch. We do NOT have a key to this room which is why it has been taped over for as long as I have been with the commission. I'm going to talk to the assistant bio to see if there is a possibility of changing this lock out or of us getting a key. I was able to pry the door open as there was just enough tape in place to keep the latch from engaging. The adjustments are working well. No sticks contacted the down stream edge of the opening. Beginning April 16 and again April 20 at 0700 hours fish remaining in the separator were allowed to volitionally exit to the river via the secondary bypass system. Cleared the A gate alarms in the PLC HMI and reset counters. This alarm was generated due to maintenance being performed on the gate.
