LOWER GRANITE JUVENILE FISH FACILITY EVENTS Date Event 11/04/93 Shut down site for the season. Removed computers for maint. (Warf) 10/04/93 Visited for maint. Helped NMFS relocate A and B diversion tunnels. The tunnels will stay down until next season. Everything else checks good. (Warf) 09/27/93 Note: Timer tags were removed from coils 10, 12, 14 and 16 on 9/14/93 for use at GRA. (Warf) 08/24/93 1450 Received printouts this morning; entered into file grj93229.a, which will be loaded tomorrow morning with the normal upload. Deleted records entered with original grj93229.a. (R Buchanan) 08/20/93 1430 Spoke with Mike Halter (assistant site biologist); he switched phone line to backup earlier today. grj93229.a on backup has same problem as main. Asked Mike to send us the printouts for that day; once they get here, I will enter them into an obs file by hand and load it. (R Buchanan) 08/18/93 0900 File grj93229.a did not run through validate program. Looked at file on both Sequent and site PC; it was scrambled at the end of the file, at around 1300 PST. Looked at grj93230.a on site PC; it appears normal. Will call site (Tim Wik) and have him move phone line to other PC. (R Buchanan) 08/17/93 0830 Not able to dial to site; may be dirty phone line; may be modem failure. Will call phone company to investigate from their end. GRJ removed from polling list until further notice. (R Buchanan) 1100 Attempted to dial; succeeded. GRJ back in polling list. (R Buchanan) 07/27/93 Visited for maint. check. Everything checks ok. (Warf) 07/19/93 FPC reports that effective 07:00 14-Jul-1993 all PIT tagged fish diversion ceased. The implications of this are that generally no pit tagged fish are re-introduced to the river. The exception to this will be re-captured fish. Contact Dave Marvin for more information regarding this event. 07/15/93 Visited for maint. check, Everything looks ok. (Warf) 23-Jun-1993 FPC reports that slide gates are not diverting fish. Stick tests were not at 100%. Needed to keep gate open for minimum amount of time. Bruce decided to leave gate open a little longer. This gave 100% accuracy on stick tests. Don and Bruce followed the slide gate tuning protocol and brought it to within spec. 06/15/93 10:00 USFWS and WDFW are cooperating to study fish tagged by Billy Conner and Ed Beutner as sub-yearlings. All fish routed through the river diversion flume are being re-routed The river diversion flume was diverted to a NMFS collection tank Effective at 10:00 today. All fish collected, except for identified sub-yearling fall chinook are being returned to the river. The diversion gate was deactivated between 9:30 and 10:00. Hence pit-tagged fish may have gone into the raceways. Contact Billy Conner for more inforation. (PC Stein per D Marvin) 06/09/93 Visited; computers, equipment running OK. Ran test tags through A Main; 10/10 on all four coils. (R Buchanan, Don) 12-Apr-1993 15:00 Approximate water up time. Fish are routed from the separator directly to the river over the barge loading dock. pcs 25- May 1993 Repairs to air system on A side slide gate; dewatering system component shattered. Air system turned off, flume blocked (accidentally unblocked for a while on 26 May). Waiting for replacement parts. (R Buchanan, per Pete Verhuis, WDW/Lower Granite and Neal Paasch, NMFS/Lower Granite, 27 May 1993) 05/27/93 Repairs to air system on A slide gate complete; system operating normally. (R Buchanan, per Pete Verhuis, 28 May).
