Called the site to ensure the gate was still working properly. Further investigation into the logic showed that sensor 2 had been missed. I cleared the alarm and contacted site personnel again and had them cycle the gate several time while I watched the sensor in the logic. All appears to be working well. Most likely the sensor 2 was missed periodically over time. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. The efficiencies of the Sample Gate had dropped in recent days so this was investigated. This gate has been in 100% sample for quite some time with Divert During Sample set to ON. The travel closed time for the DDS was adjusted from 31 34 and the time closed was adjusted from 180 to 190. 5 sticks were thrown on the A side to test the timing and all were diverted and read properly. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. The TT report showed that the B1 TT might be failing. Further investigation showed that the transceivers were difficult to tune due to the antenna's having moved. The antenna's were repositioned and re-tuned and the TT appears to be working fine. Received a call from the Sep 0p at 0700 stating that the site had gone to Divert During Sample and a Sample rate of 50% and that A gate was banging when it came out of sample. I made several attempts to make adjustments to the soft close and sometimes it works and other times it bangs the last 2 inches when the sequence times out. I mentioned to the the Site Bio and Maintenance foreman that this is typically due to a slight misalignment of the cylinder. He is going to have a mechanic look at it. 3 stick each were thrown on the A and B gates while in sample to check the DDS times. All appears to be working well. 10 more sticks per side were thrown when not in sample. All were diverted properly. Stick test results: A1 13 of 13 A2 13 of 13 B1 13 of 13 B2 13 of 13 C1 6 of 6 C2 6 of 6 D1 6 of 6 D2 6 of 6 PC1 is 49 seconds behind atomic time and PC2 is 54 seconds behind atomic time. The sample gate was slamming after the soft-close timeout at the end of a sample. More info to come. 07/06/2010 16:50 Troy At the site 06/07/2010 to remove the 5 second message instruction re-send and to install a 120 second AC Power on delay timer. The delay timer allows the platform to get up and running and record the AC Power ON event after an extended power outage. PLC comm's to and from the platform were verified. A gate GMC was performed while on site. 10 sticks were thrown on all gates but E Gate. Some adjustments were made to the timing. After exiting and then re-instantiating MultiMon to address the additional memory, I installed the new GRJ10112.MAP and GRJ10112.DB files. The update incorporates ~200k new AC71 tags, which pushes the total database size to 1.04M tag codes. None of this would have been possible without Troy's assistance and diagnostic expertise. There appears to be an issue with PC1, present before the configuration change was implemented, that causes the PC to lock up when attempting to exit MultiMon from a partial DOS box, requiring a hard re-boot of the PC. Multiple reboots of both PCs resulted in numerous "patch" files; I'm aware of one short gap on PC1, during which no tags were detected on PC2. Anything longer than that and the logic would think there was nothing wrong with sensor 1 if for some reason it stopped working. The travel open time for B gate was decreased from 23 to 22. I cycled B gate several times but could not get it to miss. I noticed that the lights were slightly lower on the flag than they had been earlier in the day. I also noticed that the lower plate which used to have 2 creases in it had been some what flattened over the off season. The holes in the flattened plate were now further apart in relation to the sensor mounting bar and the spacer on the opposite site of the gate thus causing a strain on the sensor mounting bar. When I removed the the lower plate the sensor mounting bar relaxed and the lights returned to the center of the flag. The solution was to drill out the holes allowing the sensor mounting bar to relax when the lower plate was mounted. Why this did not show it's self while we were on site earlier in the day is a mystery, perhaps the warmer temps of the afternoon caused sensor 1 to be missed? I double checked A Gate to make sure this same issue did not exist there.
