    The Sun computer has been locked up. Called and had SMP assist with rebootin
    the computer. telnet session concluded that the sun was now accepting
    incoming calls. Will monitor situation for reaccurrence.

    Problems with telecommunication. Carter worked with SMP (Doug)
    to restore communication. Telephone line was inserted into the
    telephone port of the modem rather than line port.
    Symptom was phone rings on calling end and modem answers and
    attempts negotiation on called end.

    On Wednesday, April 2, 1997 I attempted to establish ppp connectivity
    with the GRX platform. The data line to the GRX shack was not working.
    I called US West. US West sent a technician to workt the problem. US West
    determined that it was an internal problem. Corps personnel fixed the
    internal problem. Todd tested the ppp connection and it is working now.
