Although there is no power currently at JCJ the platform was checked using a generator and will come up in a collection mode. Charlie Storm contacted us and told us that he will notify us about 2 weeks prior to powering up the facilities. 06/06/2002 16:12 Darren_C These sites were shutdown today (6-6-02). They will restarted after next January for Data collection. 06/03/2002 16:41 Dave Disabled file-upload checking for JCJ and ESJ. 06/03/2002 12:41 Darren_C I verified, with the help of site personnel, that PC1 is collecting Data and is Creating files properly, PCA is running and i have a green light on the starband system. I still can't get into the PC. I tried to have the files sent manually but the process failed immediately. I will check this out on Wednesday when I go up to the site. 06/01/2002 10:37 Don_Warf Site has not been heard from since Friday at 1:36. PCA remote connect attempts were unsuccessful. Will contact site personnel or visit site on Monday. 05/26/2002 09:48 Darren_C I PCA'd into sites and sent files manually. sites were collecting data. 05/24/2002 11:11 Anthony On 5/22/02 installed keyboard tray on Anthro cart and tuned all transceivers. All transceivers are communicating to the pit tag room. 05/06/2002 11:13 Don_Warf Set the file submission frequency to upload 4 times per day. Checked and set clocks. Set About Time to run in the system tray at the Minimon sites. 05/03/2002 09:44 Don_Warf Set PC1 to create 4 files per day at 8:50 PST. 03/19/2002 08:19 Darren_C It appears that the screen and boards were pulled on March 15th. Fish are leaving the facility. 03/15/2002 09:27 Scott_Li Site interrogation computers have been upgraded to Minimon Ver. 1.0.81. Stick test were performed on both monitors at all sites with 99 % stick tag detection efficiency. All transceivers were calibrated and tuned for optimum current and noise levels. Per YIN personel, the board dams will be removed sometime today and fishies will be free to move on their own valition. 03/13/2002 21:00 Darren_C Fish were delivered to each of the Acclamation site on the following dates. I will make sure that we have all files needed to ensure any escapee recordings. The sites and Dates are as follows: CFJ - 1/15-1/17/02 ESJ - 1/28-1/30/02 JCJ - 2/20-2/22/02. 03/01/2002 08:29 Darren_C I checked on the load status for JCJ. I found that it finally loaded at 6:27 a.m. We will be watching for the file dropping to see if changing the ftp to passive mode has any effect. 02/27/2002 10:31 Darren_C The Starband modem regained communications sometime last night and has been working ever since. I PCA'd into PC1 today and transferred files jcj02055.A,and jcj02058.A to ptagis. I will also send the log file to John for analysis. I will spending some time tomorrow on some sort of solution to this problem. We may have some compatibility issues that were not thinking of. Hopefully Starband can give some answers. I was PCA'd into the site for more than 45 min and didn't have any trouble what so ever the connection was rock solid. 02/26/2002 10:07 Darren_C I was able to speak with vernon at the facility via the radio phone. He confirmed that the Starband system was operational. I still can't get into the PC. I will let PTTP try and send files. This may kick it loose. If not I will call vernon tomorrow and have him reset both PCA and the Starband modem and see what happens. 02/26/2002 08:39 Darren_C Yesterday I PCA'd into JCJ to retrieve the log files and .ack files for John because the file jcj02055A was dropped. I was successful in doing this. When I checked the load status today however I found that another file was dropped jcj02056.E when I attempted to PCA into PC1 I got into the PC but as I was searching for the file the connection was dropped. I have not been able to regain the connection. I was notified by Starband Friday 2-22-02 that they were going to be doing some "system" work on the 25th and 26th. I will talk with Starband to see if there is anything to this and the operation of our modem. 02/22/2002 13:59 WARF When I arrived on site the Starband system was running. I had been on the phone earlier this morning with Tech support for Starband and made quite sure that everything was o.k. on there end and that the account was registered. While I was checking the system the gentleman who was working on the site generators flipped from one genrator to the other when this happened I lost my Starband connection. I realized that the modem had not been plugged into the battery back- up. After talking with Simon (site personnel)he confirmed that the generators switch automatically every 4 days. This may explain some of the Starband communication problems. When the modem would cycle power the system would come back but it wasn't until you tried to surf the net or access the Network Operations Center for Starband that the modem was rerecognized by Starband. This can sometimes take up 15min. I was trying to upload files from Minimon during one of the power changes and I received a winsock error in the log file. I noticed in the logfile for 2-15thru2-19-02 the same message appears. I will keep a close eye on this site for Starband Activity. 02/22/2002 08:06 Darren_C I will traveling to the site today to try and free up the Starband system. I hope I have the fix for the problem. I believe the system needs to registered. 02/20/2002 21:07 Darren_C I have been working on the communication problems for JCJ for the past couple of days. I was going to have Charlie from the YIN talk to me over the radio phone today but I was at McNary. I will call and talk with Simon and try and find out why the communications stopped all of a sudden. I may have to go back and register that modem. I have not been able to get a straight answer from Starband on this condition. I will have more answers tomorrow. 02/19/2002 15:45 Scott_Li Noticed that JCJ did not load at the 1300 interval. Will monitor and take corrective action if necessary 02/07/2002 16:14 Darren_C Although files were received at Gladstone on 2-7-02 at 2:54 a.m. I was unable to PC Anywhere into this site at 15:30p.m. I will be going to this site on Monday 2-11-02 to load latest version of Starband Mission Control software so I will free up any problems then. There is currently no fish residing at this site. There will be fish at this site after 2-15-02 according to Charlie Strom YIN Cle Elum. 02/07/2002 08:37 Darren_C This site loaded at 2:54 this morning. It has been consistently loading at this time. We are keeping a close eye on this particular site for this reason. 02/01/2002 15:55 Scott_Li Confirmed that the files missing in PTAGIS are in tacked on the local drive of JCJPC1. We will escalate the efforts to isolate the this odd problem by: 1. Upgrading the Starband firmware to the latest rev. 2. Upgrading Minimon to 1.0.78. and see what happens. Starband tech support seems to unsure themselves of their own software drivers and firmware patches every since the mandatory modem upgrade from 180 to 360 took place. Sent MiniMon log files to John T for his analysis and input. More soon. 01/28/2002 19:18 scott PCA to JCJPC1 and found that 02026.C file that is missing from the data set does in fact exist on the local drive. The last log file generated is on day 02025. Due to a slow network connection at home , dial up, decided to wait until I could retrieve this log file from the office DSL line. Could not locate the Run Time version of Minimon but , Have the following information:Minimon.exe. Created: Nov.13 2000. Modified: August 30, 2000 File ver. 1.00.0073. Prod. Release 1.0.70. This version will be upgraded to 1.0.78, to keep consistent with the latest configuration, will consult with John when more info is available. 01/26/2002 13:46 scott File 26.B closed at 0600, file 26.D opened at 0900, Wheres 26.c? John, if your reading this , I have never seen this happen before. I will investigate and see if this file actually exists on JCJPC1. More soon. 01/26/2002 13:39 scott Checked file load status and found this peculiar file sequence. JCJ02026.A 01/26/02 00:00 01/26/02 03:00 LOADED 0 days 00:00 1 01/26/02 06:19 JCJ02026.B 01/26/02 03:00 01/26/02 06:00 LOADED 0 days 00:00 1 01/26/02 06:19 JCJ02026.D 01/26/02 09:00 01/26/02 12:00 LOADED 0 days 03:00 1 01/2 Notice that .C file is missing? No file change at 0600. Will investigate this phenominon... 01/25/2002 12:23 Scott_Li With the help of Jason Rau and Patty from the YIN, We were successful in changing the video selection mode in PCA to "Compatibility" which allows complete proficient use of remote access application to this facility. While in remote session, manually sent the data files cued up to ptagis. Thanks Jason & Patty, well done! 01/24/2002 16:50 Dave Turned file checking on in etc/sites. 01/24/2002 14:45 scottl Repaired Timertag on Coil A2. TT connector inside sheild box was extremely wet. Dried connector , applied Di-electric grease compound, ,wrapped connector with butel tape and refastened to coil. performed the same procedure on coil A1. Hit rate for A1 and A2 was 100 %. The internet connection Starband, was completely funtional when arrived today. Signal strength was 6.5 to 6.8 and had no probelm sending files manually. Looking at the Upload Data dialog and log file in Minimon suggested that the previous day's data files had been sent to ptagis. Complete function check found no problems on the site end. Will call Gladstone for more info on their end. ####End of Event Log for JCJ###
