PCA connections are tenuous at best. PTAGIS Field Operations is working to restore automated uploading. JCJ is de-watered and out of operation. ________________________________ From: pittag@psmfc.org [mailto:pittag@psmfc.org] Sent: Sat 5/13/2006 1:15 PM To: sitemaint@psmfc.org Subject: Problems with remote data sites... All transceivers were tuned. No sticks were thrown as the site is de-watered. PC2 was set to create a new file every hour. Both PCs' clocks were adjusted to within one second of atomic time. No problems found. 04/26/2006 10:07 Darren_C PSMFC was investigating file submission and caused the PCA connection to lock up. The PC was rebooted with the help of YIN personnel on site the current Minimon file was stopped before the PC was taken down so there is a slight file gap for PC1, YIN personnel were monitoring PC2 for PITtag interrogation while the PC was rebooted and no interrogations occurred. Once the PC was established I was able to PCA into the machine and manually send the two files needed. Darren R. Chase PSMFC Systems Engineer (509) 735-2773 ext.3 darren@psmfc.org 04/24/2006 09:58 Darren_C A site GMC was performed on Friday (4-21-06). All transceivers were checked for tuning and noise. 10 Sticks were passed through each detection monitor. No problems were found. Darren R. Chase PSMFC Systems Engineer (509) 735-2773 ext.3 darren@psmfc.org 04/14/2006 12:41 Darren The starband issues on PC2 have been rectified. I verfied PCA connections using PC1. I installed about time on PC2 and set it to sync with PC1. The generators are being worked on today and the UPS are taking a trmendous beating. They are having some carburator issues and trying to get them resolved. 04/07/2006 08:51 Darren PSMFC visited the site yesterday to investigate the problems with PC2. When I arrived I found that everytime the power was cycled on the generators the PC would reboot. I checked and found that the battery in the UPS was failing when the AC was removed. I traveled into Cle Elum and purchased another UPS. I swapped out the PC's because of the problems that we were encountering prior to my arrival. I ran into several problems with the new Starband software and trying to get the modem to configure. I spoke with Starband tech support and hd to edit some registry keys to configure the modem. That led me to the Satellite Accelorator Tunnel Down error, which I could not find a fix for. I left the facility with the intentionof returning and fixing the problem, the PC is up and running and collecting Data which it was not doing before. I will update when the satellite connection is back up and running. 03/29/2006 09:11 darren The site was visited yesterday (3-28-06) to try and find a solution for the problems that we were having with PC2 losing the mouse and creating a "Blue Screen" which in turn was shutting down Minimon from collecting data. I replaced the mouse and proceeded to test the computer by removing power and rebooting the system, the PC did not fail. I did not feel comfortable so I decided to replace the PC with one that I had configured in the lab. I loaded the RP card and then proceeded to the starband software. When I tried to configure the modem I was not able to select the correct cluster and subcluster from the menus giving by the software. I tried to revert back to the previous settings but was unsuccessful. I then replaced the PC with the original one but still I had trouble with the configuration of the Starband modem, this was due to the parameters within the software being incorrect. I spoke with Starband and corrected the parameters and configured the modem. The bottom line is the Original PC is still there but with a new mouse. I will monitor the PCA connection for PC2 and try to solve the Starband issues incase a new PC has to be deployed. Darren R. Chase PSMFC Systems Engineer (509) 735-2773 ext.3 darren@psmfc.org 03/22/2006 09:09 darren A site GMC was performed yesterday (3-21-06). When I arrived I found that PC2 was in a blue screen of death with no satellite connections. The PC was re-booted and all communications were re-established. The data files indicated that the last file created was JCJ06061.C2. PSMFC will start monitoring the satellite connection on PC2 to ensure we have communications with both PC's. Darren R. Chase PSMFC Systems Engineer (509) 735-2773 ext.3 darren@psmfc.org 03/16/2006 11:20 darren I spoke with Charlie Strom today and he informed me that the boards were pulled yesterday (3-15-06) at the times listed below. Doug Clough 03/08/2006 10:33 Alan_Bro Manually pushed JCJ06067.C1 to PTAGIS via PCA. 03/03/2006 15:38 Alan_Bro Manually submitted JCJ06062.E1 via PCA. 03/03/2006 08:26 alan@ruf A1:TestTagFailure,A2:TestTagFailure,B1:TestTagFailure,B2:TestTagFailure: These alarms were caused by PTAGIS Field Operations personnel during a site visit. 03/02/2006 12:35 Alan A GMC was performed 3/2/2006. Approximately three feet of snow and ice was removed from the monitors. The monitors were opened and inspected. About 1/8" of water was removed from the South monitor and about seven inches of water was removed from the North monitor. The water was probably there since before the bypass system was installed (which is working quite well). The buffers were erased on all four transceivers. All transceivers were tuned. The monitors were sticktested with 25 sticks each, results following: A1 25/25 A2 25/25 B1 25/25 B2 25/25 Both PCs' clocks were adjusted to within one second of atomic time. No other problems found. 02/17/2006 09:53 Alan_Bro Manually pushed JCJ06048.C1 to PTAGIS via PCA. 02/06/2006 09:21 Alan_Bro Manually pushed JCJ06037.C1 to PTAGIS via PCA. 02/02/2006 09:14 Dave I enabled site checking, on a 3-hour schedule, in etc/sites. 02/02/2006 08:28 Darren_C It appears that the facility has been powered up by the YIN and has started to submit files. The file submission started with file JCJ06031.A1 at 11:30. I will verify this information with the hatchery manager and try to confirm the date of fish delivery. I will update the interrogation start-up and shutdown calendar. Darren R.
