EVENT LOG FOR SITE JD1 The first line of each entry contains a date/time stamp & who is reporting. The most recent entry is listed first. Date Time Who ---------- ----- -------- 12/02/2009 14:42 Brett O&M visit on 11/30/09. Services performed included: downloaded, saved and erased the computer buffer, looked for signs of tampering and vandalism of the equipment, and checked the read ranges of the antennas with a SST tag. Also, I synchronized the time of the transceiver buffer and computer. Everything looked fine, and the equipment was performing well. 10/28/2009 09:26 Brett O&M visit to JD1 on 10/26/09. Overall, the site looked good. There was no sign of tampering and vandalism of the equipment by the people camping and fishing there. We downloaded and saved the buffer to the computer desktop, thus causing the 10 minute data gap. We also checked the read ranges of the antennas, and found everything operating well. There was a couple of 3 minute data gaps on 10/26 possibly caused by power issues during a rain and wind storm. 09/29/2009 13:09 Brett O&M visit to JD1. Tasks performed included: Performed windows XP service pack 3 update on the data computer and downloaded the transceiver buffer. Due to windows update and transceiver buffer download, there is a 27 minute data gap in the data files. No fish were detected during this 27 minute gap. We checked the antennas, cables and enclosure for any damage and found none. We checked the transceiver diagnostics and tested each antenna with a SST test tag. The transceiver time was 5 minutes fast, so I changed it to the correct time. Also, I erased the transceiver buffer. 08/26/2009 07:05 Anglea,_ Visited site on August 20, 2009 to perform routine maintenance. All systems functioning properly. System has be operating consistently and continuously since September 2007, with the exception of suspended interrogation during performance checks. System was inadvertently left in "manual tune" mode so there are a couple of files with no data. Transceiver buffer was downloaded and detected tag codes that were not sent to controlling computer will be folded into dataset. 06/22/2009 07:24 Anglea,_ Interrogation suspended from 17:18 to 18:34 on June 17 to perform system check. System functioning normally. 106 files were in queue waiting to be uploaded; files were uploaded manually. 05/26/2009 09:18 Anglea,_ Biomark visited site on May 22, 2009. Manually uploaded data files (n=61) in queue. Transceiver and antennas are functioning normally. 04/15/2009 06:20 Anglea,_ Site visited to perform routine system check on 14 April 2009. "Next File" created at beginning (0856 h) and end (0937 h) of effort. All diagnostic and performance data indicate antennas are functioning properly. 02/26/2009 17:01 sandy February 26, 2009. Stopped Minimon for a few minutes around 16:45 to download the buffer to make certain no fish were missed when the system was down yesterday. The buffer info showed that no fish were missed. 02/26/2009 16:52 sandy February 25. Discovered that status report had been containing erroneous info since pico computer had been installed. At around 15:25 stopped Minimon to use hyperterminal to get a direct status report from the transceiver. PSMFC then figured out problem was that we had loaded version 1.5.2, which was still a prototype. At around 16:45, minimon was stopped again to remove wrong version and load version 1.5.1. 02/26/2009 05:33 Anglea,_ February 24, 2009. Arrived on site at 0930 (PST) and created Next File. Disconnected MM from transceiver to run diagnostics at the transceiver enclosure. Confirmed read range of all antennas. All were near the values recorded in 2007. Noticed error in MM (#9) and DRS values in incorrect fields. Started and stopped interrogation several times in an attempt to clear issue, to no avail. Error was corrected on February 25, 2009 by NOAA Fisheries by installing MM Ver. 1.5.1. Left site at approximately 1129 (PST). 02/17/2009 08:33 Sandy February 11, 2008 Gabriel replaced the laptop on the site with a Pico computer that will automatically restart after power returns after a power loss situation. The pico also uses less power than traditional laptops. We are also testing the logmein software instead of PCA. PCA is still available on the computer.
