1995 Event Log JDJ -- John Day Sub-Sample ==================================================== 10-04-95 Rick Martinson called to say that sampling at John Day is done for for the season. we have stopped polling this site as of today. --jen 06-28-95 Rebuilt control panel for the sample room. Replaced battery with 12 volt regulated supply. System is now back on line. -Warf- 06-28-95 Warf reports that JDJ interrogation monitors are now working at 100%. Stein checked modem communication and got the jdj95175.[ab] files. These will process this PM. PSMFC modified Biomark battery and charger setup by replacing those components with a special power filter that conditions AC power. -Stein- 06-26-95 NMFS reports that controller inside sample room is not working. PSMFC visited site and could not get controller to read at the data collection computer and the PIT diverter was not working. Warf swapped out the controller and replaced it with a controller take from McNary's mortality monitors. The notebook data collection computer was able to read the bypass controller at the gatewell, but not the controller inside the sample room. The diverter, however was working. Warf took the bad controller back to his shop to repair and replace at a later time. At this time, PIT tagged fish that show up in the sample room will be recorded in tagging / recapture files and not in interrogation files until further notice. -Stein- Sun Jun 25 0:38:36 PST 1995 A file(s) was missed while polling this site. When someone is here during PSMFC office hours it will be downloaded and processed. --automated message system 06-06-95 NMFS reports that 4" monitor inside sample room is not working. Rick M suspects reader card. Warf was contacted and directed to utilize MCJ Mort reader as a spare for JDJ sub-sample and will visit JDJ on Friday to swap readers. -Stein- 05-15-95 Biomark spent 3.5 hours rebuilding the 6" barrel detector into a 4" one and plumbed the bypass hose into it. Biomark (JS) indicated that hte way it was originally installed by running the four inch hose through the six inch barrel was the main reason it was not operating properly. -Stein- 05-08-95 Rick Martinson reports that Bypass monitor not reading well. His conversations with Scott M. of Biomark lead to theory that water velocities are above the 4fps limit of the Biomark remote monitor. RM will attempt to try different GWAL dumping scenerios to improve interrogation without stressing fish. -Stein- 05-04-95 Carter & Scott M. (Biomark) visited site. Rick M. voiced skepticism of effectiveness of Bypass monitor. -Stein- 04-05-95 Gatewell air lift bypass remote monitor installed. ===============------ EOF JDJ ---===================
