EVENT LOG FOR SITE 5_JDJ Most recent activity to be listed first. First line of each entry lists date, time & who is reporting. Subsequent lines of each entry aligned under Time column. Date Time Who What -------- ----- -------- ----------------------------------------------- 10/30/98 10:03 dlwarf Site was watered down for the season on 10/29/98 at 7:00am. 10/12/98 08:07 carters The cron job is required. The cronfile on jdj was reinstalled this am. 10/09/98 15:51 carters The following error sent to me... I think that multick.pl (intiated from server sockeye) is already doing this work... so I removed this process from the cron on jdjsun... The error is because a file in /tmp with the same name but deamon user existed so this process run as user pittag couldn't write over the existing file. Need to check to see if the file made it though... Your cron job (/home/multimon/bin/process_data.sh) 1>/tmp/process_data.out.27160 2>/tmp/process_data.err.27160 produced the following output: sh: /tmp/process_data.out.1518: cannot create 09/23/98 09:45 davem SMP personnel report a scheduled dewatering of the Smolt Monitoring Facility and Juvenile Bypass System from approximately 0945h to 1400h. 09/21/98 11:43 scottl Downloaded temperature data from the hobo temps, relaunched the the data loggers for another 45 day cycle. Adjusted ISO coil 22 approx. 1 inch further away from the end of the shield box. Adjusted tuning cap to reduce the output noise level. Noise levels now are at 3 to 6. Repositioned timer tag on the coil for coil 74 ( 400 sys. ) tested good. General maint. check on the 400 system found no problems. 08/31/98 08:59 scottl The facility is having problems with phone system per Jeff Kamps. Terry Smith is working on the problem. Not sure how long the system will be down. Verified that the server and data computers are collecting data. 08/31/98 08:28 scottl The facility is having problems with phone system per Jeff Kamps. Terry Smith is working on the problem. Not sure how long the system will be down. Verified that the server and data computers are collecting data. 08/12/98 14:46 carters The 400kHz interrogation monitors were powered off between 11:59 and 13:32 today, Aug. 12, 1998 to eliminate 400kHz electro magnetic interference while fish testing the new ISO monitors. 07/30/98 14:33 scottl The T-1 connection at JDJ is not on line. Called Greg g. to confirm that the data collection pc's was operational and they where. No estimate on when the connection would be re-established. SMP will call Kennewick office when the line is repaired. 07/27/98 00:00 davem SMP personnel report the Juvenile Monitoring Facility was dewatered for maintenance on July 27, but do not report the time or duration. 07/25/98 10:41 dlwarf Site is unreachable due to internet problems. Contacted Greg K. and had him view both PC monitors to verify that data was being collected. Will contact the JDJ system administrator on Monday. 07/23/98 11:22 scottl Replaced reader card and exciter for coil 04 due to loe efficiency. Sticktest yielded 100 percent of all tags thrown on all separator coils ,00,02,04,06. The three way gate sticking problem has been resolved End to end expansion of the flumes was the cause. Jim Simonson (NMFS), removed a spacer in the gate to allow for the expansion. 07/14/98 08:22 scottl A power outage occured on 7/11/98 at 1830. No data was collected from this time until 0900 7/13/98. When the power was restored the Sun file server was running processes to clean up the file systems after a uncontrolled shutdown. This caused an added delay to the boot process and took longer than the induced delay time the pc's are running. An athentication error stopped the boot process and consequently multimon.exe was never started. to prevent this in the future we have extended the pc delay time from 180 seconds to 300 and removed the athentication from the psnfs software. 07/06/98 08:41 dlwarf Replaced exciter for coils 04 and 06 for the second time. Checked power supply voltage. Both sides running at 27 volts. 07/02/98 13:22 dlwarf Replaced exciter for coils 04 and 06. 06/26/98 07:00 scottl The ISO xcievers have been installed on the diversion river exit and sample room exit monitors and are operational. 06/25/98 14:25 carters ISO transcievers (RIVER EXIT ISO & SAMPLE ROOM RIVER EXIT 1 ISO) were installed today. No data was collected for about 15 minutes during the connection of the new equipment to the interrogation platform. This happened from 14:15 - 14:30 PDT 6/25/98. 06/16/98 13:57 carters Big Brother flagged JDJ being down. Telnet session and 'last' confirmed the system was rebooted 7 minutes ago with no indication of system shutdown. Logged in and was able to ping pc1 and pc2, but jdj logfiles showed old timestamps in tail. Suspected power outage. Called site. Greg K. looked at machines, noticed them in Abort Retry Ignore mode. Greg K. rebooted and machines look fine now. 05/28/98 12:53 scottl Used telnet session to determine status on gate controllers and generalize coil efficencies while data base is being corrected. 05/23/98 09:34 dlwarf Entry for 5/22/98: The University of Idaho study was reported, by that agency, to be complete at this site. A new tag list was loaded to accomodate a study by NMFS and the COE. Retuned site and retimed the three way gate to compensate for a change in water level. 05/20/98 11:28 scottl Retuned Separator coils, Replaced Exciter for coils 04,06. Stick tested monitor and got 100 percent efficiency on all coils for total sticks thrown Retuned sub-sample coils. Found a typo in the computers directory in multimon. Multimon would not do File flushes that was sent from EffCalc. There was no S at the end of commands in the path that commands.dat refers to. Corrected this on both PC1 and PC2. 05/14/98 13:39 dlwarf Site personnel report that a modification was done to the three way gate by NMFS personnel to prevent fish from being flipped out. 05/11/98 11:14 scottl Timed 3-way rotational gate to the following settings. coil 00 from 1250mS to 1000mS coil 02 from 950mS to 500mS coil 04 from 310mS to 200mS coil 06 1mS unchanged Tuned Sub-sample coils 70,72,74,76 to 400Khz. Stick test results for the Separator coils where 100 percent of 20 sticks on all coils. 05/05/98 13:36 dlwarf Site personnel report dead fish being found in the housing of the three way gate. Not sure if the gate is flipping them out or if they are jumping. Handed over the spare wobble nose gate and controls to Jeff Camp. 05/05/98 12:51 dlwarf Edited map files to separation protocol 2 with daily maximums of 6.Saved file as JDJ98125.map To use separation by code the Diversion By Code switch on the wet lab Dtam panel must be turned to the on position. 05/05/98 12:42 dlwarf Entry for 5/4/98. Divertion by code switch was turned to the off posistion by site personnel. 04/30/98 14:12 dlwarf Visited for a general maintenance check and found no problems. 04/22/98 10:18 dlwarf Entry for 4/21/98. Loaded version Multimon 5.07. Retimed three way gate. Checked for viruses. 04/17/98 15:28 dlwarf Called site to check on gate operation. Site personnel report no problems with the three way gate since it was lubed on 4/11. I suggested to R. Martinson that an oiler be installed for both rotating gates. Site personnel also report no problems with sample gate controls and report accurate sample rate times. 04/17/98 15:21 dlwarf Entry for 4/13/98: Loaded the new PLC program version that allows current sample rates to be over ridden during sample and also includes logic that will allow the new DIVERSION BY CODE on/off switch to be used. This switch is located on the wet lab Dtam panel and will enable/disable ALL diversion by code when used. Sample gate solenoid has not stuck since lubed on 4/11. 04/17/98 15:09 dlwarf Entry for 4/11/98. Received call at home from site personnel that the three way gate had stuck in the sample position They also noted that the lights on the solenode were turing off and on at the proper time but the gate would not move. At my suggestion site personnel sprayed WD40 into the airline upstream of the valve. This freed the solenode and operated without problems the rest of the weekend. 04/17/98 15:09 dlwarf Entry for 4/11/98.
