The final SM sample was taken at 0700 that same day. This is the end of the smolt collection (and PIT tag detection) season at JDA for 2000. 09/05/2000 15:20 scott_li General maintenance found no problems to report. Diversion efficiency was 100 percent on the two -way and SByC gates. All transceivers electrical parameters were checked with no problems. Greg Kovalchuk indicated that the last day for Smolt monitoring will be Sept. 18th,00 08/28/2000 15:09 Dave Backfilled data collection hole with JDJ00231.103. 08/21/2000 14:41 scott_li General maintenance check found no problems. All tags were successfully diverted on the separator at JDJ. Downloaded Temperature data from the Hobo data logger. Re-launched logger for another 30 day cycle. 08/08/2000 09:36 Darren_C On Friday 8-4-00 a general maintenance check was performed. All transceivers were checked for current and noise. Sticks were tested on the separator, SbyC Gate, and the West Tank with 100 0.000000e+00fficiency. I also installed a HOBO temp gauge in the River Exit enclosure this gauge will be checked on a 2 week interval. 07/24/2000 09:12 Darren_C A General maintenance check was performed on Thursday 7-20-00. Sticks were tested on the separator monitors with 100 0.000000e+00fficiencies. 07/14/2000 08:54 darren@p F1:ReaderReset,F2:InputSyncDetect,F2:InputSyncLost: The Input Sync lost and detected was generated by the reader reset from transceiver F1. This problem is being addressed by Destron Fearing. 06/20/2000 14:11 scottl General maintenance check found no problems to report. Separator coils a1- 4 sbc-gate coils and sbyc coils all detected 10 of 10 stick tags and were successfully diverted by both separator gates and sbyc diversion gate. 06/13/2000 08:47 Don_Warf Visited site for a general maintenance check and found no problems. Ran sticks on the Separator, SbyC gate and SbyC West Tank with 100 0.000000e+00fficiency. 06/09/2000 11:53 Don_Warf PLC messaging is now on. Messages include: Sample percent. When the sample gate opens and closes. When the DDS switch has been thrown When the SbyC enable switch has been thrown. Note that the messages will only appear in PC1's data files unless PC2 becomes the primary. 06/06/2000 08:07 Don_Warf The two way gate was put back into operation on 6/5/00 at 12:45. Simonson of NMFS found the drive belt too tight due to the build up of silt. After the belt was adjusted twenty sticks were run through both gates with 100% diversion efficiency. Coil efficiency was also 100%. 06/05/2000 07:03 jndchase On Friday June 2, 2000 I went to do a GMC. I Checked transceivers for current and noise. I then Ran 20 sticks through the separator. All but 2 sticks ended up in the west tank. When I retrieved the sticks from the east tank I noticed that there was no water flowing into the tank. I told Brad from the Corps and he said that maybe the gate was stuck. We checked and sure enough the gate was stuck. I was able to reposition it with my hands. I tried the test button and the gate rotated but would not rotate back. I checked the air pressure and the solenoid for operation and that was all working correctly. Brad had called Rick Martinsonand he met me out there on site. He explained that the 3-way gate had the same problem the year before and he thought that he knew what would fix the problem. There was no sampling going on at the time but the U of I was due to sample starting at midnight on 7-3-00 and ending in 7-5-00 at midnight. I removed a gasket on one end of the 2- way gate that Rick said they removed on the 3-way gate but this did not help. The gate seem to be hanging up after it would rotate. Rick was going to try and get a hold of Jim Simmonson from NMFS and get him out there to look into the problem. As for the sampling Rick and Dave Marvin talked about a couple of options. When I left the facility Rick had decided on the option of shutting off the air and manually rotating the gate at the appropriate times. The YIN is set to sample on the 6th & 7th. The gate will need to be rotated into the default position at midnight on the 5th. I will update the event log as I receive more information. 06/02/2000 08:01 scottl@p E2:InputSyncDetect,E2:ReaderReset: Error sync detected and reader rest related to reset problem that is being currently addressed by Destron/Fearing at this time. Will monitor. 05/26/2000 11:56 scott_li Tranceiver status report intervals were changed to the below settings. Coils A1-A4, 51-54, report delays: 240 min. Coils 81-84, C1-C4, report delays: 239 min. Coils 91-94, F1-2, E1-2, report delays:238 min. General Maintence check found no problems to report. 10 Stick tags were thrown on the Separtor coils. Detection and diversion efficiency was 100%. 05/23/2000 10:51 Dave I expanded the Multimon database with ~12k additional LGR wild chinook (AC25) marked between 5/3 and 5/13/00. The current database is 'JDJ00143.DB'. I also modified the map file to extend the sample duration for Bill Lavoie from 24 to 48 hours for each of the remaining three samples. The new map file is 'JDJ00143.MAP'. 05/20/2000 08:56 scottl@p A1:LowExcCurrent: This problem is due to PTOC maintenence. 05/20/2000 08:55 scottl@p 53:TestTagFailure: Efficiency report for 5/19/00 indicates coil is working properly. Will monitor for repeated occurence 05/11/2000 12:00 Dave New DU worked for YIN SbyC operation. 05/10/2000 18:46 Dave Two days of Multimon Hell at JDA. Discovered yesterday morning that YIN fish destined for diversion were missed, due to a misconfiguration of the 3-way gate. After the grand faux pas at LMN on 5/8, I was leery of modifying the map file remotely, and so enlisted the assist- ance of Jeff Kamps, who drove up from The Dalles and sat in front of the machine for two hours to verify operations. We attempted to accomodate Don Larsen's request for "as many fish as possible", and I made the mistake of substituting an SP7 configuration over an existing SP6 configuration. It worked right up to the point that Jeff walked out the door, and then died. Today, Carter got the catbird seat as I directed him through the creation of a new DU specifically for a 1-day SP6. We verified operations with three sticks temporarily designated with a YIN action code. Current map file is JDJ00131.MAP. 05/10/2000 15:50 Darren_C A GMC was performed. Transceivers were checked for noise and current. Sticks were thrown to check diversion through both the 3-way and 2-way gates. The sticks end up in the West Tank (F1,F2). Timing was also checked. 05/08/2000 08:15 Darren_C May 5, 2000 - A general maintenance check was performed on the facility. No problems were detected. 05/04/2000 18:46 Dave Updated software platform to Multimon Version 7.04, in order to accomodate SP6 regimes for LaVoie and Watson. Updated db to JDJ00125.DB; appended 35k+ wild chinook as AC25. Replaced db contents for Action Codes 31-34 with updated lists from YIN. Updated map file to JDJ00125.MAP to accomodate LaVoie and Watson. Updated PC1 hardware file to JDJ00125.HW1 to include counters on Sun Server. Copied current DEFAULT.CFG files to JDJ directory on Sun Server. 04/28/2000 09:39 darren_c A general site maintenance was performed on tuesday April 25, 2000. 04/11/2000 08:08 dlwarf@p 53:TestTagFailure,54:InputSyncDetect,54:ReaderReset,93:InputSyncDetect,93: LowExcCurrent,93:ReaderReset,94:InputSyncDetect,94:InputSyncLost,94:LowExc Current,94:ReaderReset,A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:InputSyncLost,A4:LowExcCurren t,A4:TestTagFailure,E1:ReaderReset,E2:InputSyncDetect,E2:InputSyncLost,E2: ReaderReset,E2:TestTagFailure,F1:InputSyncDetect,F1:InputSyncLost,F1:Reade rReset,F1:TestTagFailure,F2:InputSyncDetect,F2:InputSyncLost,F2:LowExcCurr ent,F2:ReaderReset,F2:TestTagFailure: All alarms caused by PSMFC and Destron maintenance activities during stick testing. 04/10/2000 07:12 darren@p A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset,E1:TestTagFailure,E2:TestTagFailure: Input sync detected was caused from the reader reset.
