Power was turned off to simulate a power outage. When power was restored all transceivers were check and no problems were found. 11/06/2003 12:26 troy The JDJ-GEN.HW1 and .HW2 files were modified to allow for AC Power status to be tracked via PLC messaging. Mulitimon was down on PC1 from 03/11/06 11:17:34 to 03/11/06 11:17:49. A timer tag firing was the only activity during this time period and that was on coil 51. The feeder to the pit tag room circuit panel was shut off to simulate a power outage. AC POWER OFF was written to the raw file. When power was restored AC POWER ON was written to the raw file. JDJ-GEN.HW1 was changed to JDJ-GEN03310.HW1 and like wise for .HW2 on the ftp server. The new .HW files were then transfered to the ftp server. JDJ is now monitoring AC Power outages. 11/06/2003 12:04 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/11/06 11:31:02 11/06/2003 12:04 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/11/06 11:31:02 11/06/2003 12:04 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/11/06 11:31:02 11/06/2003 12:03 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/11/06 11:31:02 10/30/2003 08:14 alan@ruf 51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:InputSyncLost,54:InputSyncDetect,54:I nputSyncLost: Random Reader Reset 10/28/2003 11:03 alan@ruf E2:InputSyncDetect,E2:ReaderReset: Random Reader Reset 10/25/2003 08:34 troy@ree 84:InputSyncDetect,84:ReaderReset: Random reader reset 10/17/2003 16:04 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/10/17 13:17:20 10/17/2003 16:04 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/10/17 13:17:20 10/17/2003 16:04 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/10/17 13:17:20 10/17/2003 16:04 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/10/17 13:17:20 10/16/2003 08:16 alan@ree A2:InputSyncDetect,A2:ReaderReset: Random Reader Reset 10/09/2003 12:13 Dave As requested by Don, I modified etc/sites for this (inactive) site to redirect any "Problems with remote data sites..." messages to Kennewick staff only. Due to this reconfig, the primary computers had to be rebooted in order for the setting to take effect and therefore creating a gap in the data set. All efforts were made to minimize this gap and efforts will be made today to restore the missing records . 06/19/2003 12:26 Alan A GMC was performed 6/18/2003. Transceivers were tuned. The three-way and two-way gates were tested with 20 sticks each, as were the Sample monitors. All sticks were diverted correctly, and 100% detection of all sticks was achieved at each monitor. 06/13/2003 12:08 Troy Performed a GMC today and tuned all trancievers, no problems were found. Threw 40 sticks on the 3-Way and consequently 40 sticks on the 2-Way. All sticks were diverted correctly and the timing looks good. Threw 20 sticks on the east SbyC tank and 20 sticks on the Sample Room monitors. All monitors read all sticks execpt F1 which missed one stick out of 40(probably due to tag orientation in the field). 06/11/2003 13:25 Dave Jeff Kamps, PSMFC-SMP, provides the following information regarding the power outage at JDA on June 10: "I coordinated this activity with Don and Scott yesterday. The power went out at about 1330, and returned to service at about 1450. The computers went to backup power for the duration. PC1 actually never appeared to shut down, or Multimon didn’t reload when it restarted. PC2 shut down after some unknown duration and rebooted when the power came back on, and reloaded Multimon automatically so any delay in PIT tag data collection would have been minimal (< 2 minutes from power up). I had to restart Multimon on PC1, and inserted markers on both machines. The bypass system itself remained functional. Samples were taken at 1355 and 1455 by turning off the air to the rotating gate, and rotating the gate by hand for the desired quantity of time (54 seconds). The PLC was reset to begin normal operation at 1500. No adverse consequences were noted with any of the fisheries systems." 06/10/2003 10:06 Scott_Li Jeff Kamps reports that a power outage is scheduled for today at 13:00 hrs for an estimated duration of ~ 1/2 hr. Gave Jeff Multimon shutdown instructions in order to ensure a controlled shutdown rather than just dropping the platform on the floor. PTOC will follow up to ensure that the system is fully functional when power is restored. 06/10/2003 08:23 darren@r A3:TestTagFailure: Test tag alarm not valid. The tag did fire but was after a pittag had passed through the monitor. 06/10/2003 07:59 Don_Warf From: Terry.W.Hurd@nwp01.usace.army.mil To: dlwarf@psmfc.org The power will be out here for about 1/2 hour around 1330 this afternoon. I am working graveyard shift so will not be here. If you need to talk to someone about this the COE bio-tech on duty may be reached at 541-506-7860 or the PSMFC biologist at 541-506-7863. Hope this doesn't cause any problems. 06/07/2003 07:05 darren@r 81:TestTagFailure: Not a valid alarm. Test tag did fire but a pittag was seen between the request and the firing of the timer tag. 06/04/2003 12:24 Mail_Bot Performed a GMC and threw 40 sticks. All transcievers and times look good. 06/04/2003 08:50 alan@ruf A2:TestTagFailure,A3:TestTagFailure: These failures occurred due to fish simultaneously passing through the coil with the timer tag firing. 06/02/2003 08:48 Alan A GMC was performed 5/30/2003. Transcievers were tuned, the SbyC Separator and the SbyC Gate were succesfully stick tested. 05/14/2003 17:54 D._Chase A GMC was performed on the site today. No problems were found. I also scoped out the settings for a Starband satellite. It may be close but the only way to tell would be to take our dish and LNB along with the "birddog" down and see if we can get over the hill. We looked at several different dish locations, but the best would be mounted on the roof right above our pittag room. 05/07/2003 14:36 Darren_C The tank issue has been resolved for now, it was slid back to accomodate the door to the transceiver enclosure to be fully open. It was expressed to me from Greg K. that USGS would like to look at possibly a long term solution so that their tank can rest fully on the concrete pad. I will contact Steve Juhnke with USGS and discuss this possibility. I also check all transceivers but was unable to throw sticks due to the high volume of fish through the facility. Currently there does not appear to be any SbyC activity going on, the gates were checked on the last site visit for timing and there were no problems, I will activate them by the test buttons to ensure operability. 05/01/2003 11:33 DChase The site was visited yesterday for a GMC. All transceivers were checked for tune and styicks were passed through the 3-way and 2-way diversion gates. No problems were found. 05/01/2003 09:22 scottl@r A4:TestTagFailure: Not of concern. 04/29/2003 08:10 scottl@r F2:InputSyncDetect,F2:ReaderReset: Not of concern. 04/28/2003 13:46 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/04/28 09:53:49 04/28/2003 11:01 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/04/28 06:59:01 04/21/2003 08:04 Don_Warf From: Terry.W.Hurd@nwp01.usace.army.mil To: dlwarf@psmfc.org Power surge at 1953 on 4/18/03 04/12/2003 21:58 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/04/07 08:07:55 04/12/2003 20:31 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/04/01 06:56:54 04/12/2003 20:21 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/03/31 13:25:31 04/12/2003 20:21 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/03/31 13:22:15 04/12/2003 19:32 DGE_Robo SByC_Enable (SBC) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/03/26 06:00:01 04/12/2003 19:32 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/03/26 06:00:01 04/08/2003 11:28 Troy These are the DTAM settings recorded today for JDJ 3W Delay Op 10 3W Time Open 135 2W Delay Op 9 2W Time Open 120 3W Del Op D/Samp 10 3W Del Op All Sam 10 3W Open All Sam 120 04/07/2003 10:10 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/04/07 08:07:55 04/07/2003 09:13 Dave Unable to pcA into JDJ from home or Gladstone. Contacted Greg Kovalchuk and walked him through steps to re-sync files and clock on PC1 and PC2 to adjust to DST. 04/04/2003 10:58 Darren_C I was on site yesterday to retime diversion gates. The settings within Multimon for Delay needed to be changed. The settings are as follows: OLD NEW A1 350mSec 775mSec A2 500mSec 410mSec A3 300mSec 160mSec A4 1mSec 1mSec C1 450mSec 750mSec C2 520mSec 400mSec C3 275mSec 150mSec C4 1mSec 1mSec The time was figured out mathmatically by taking the average travel time of 10 sticks between coils and then measuring the distance between given coils. This gave me an average of 10.44mSeconds/per inch. I asked the SMP personnel on site if they knew what the flow rate through the facility was and they said they figured about 8ft./second. By my calculations I got about 100inches/second. 04/04/2003 10:53 darren@p A2:TestTagFailure,A4:TestTagFailure,C1:TestTagFailure,C2:TestTagFailure,C3 :TestTagFailure: These alarms were created by PTOC personnel while on site to retime the gates after changing the Delay settings within Multimon. 04/03/2003 15:05 darren@p 53:InputSyncDetect,53:ReaderReset: Alarm was gnerated by a random reader reset. 04/03/2003 15:05 Darren The map file was changed today at 15:00 on both PC1 and PC2 to reflect the new delays in multimon for the 3-way gate and the 2-way gate. I uploaded the new jdj-gen.map to the ftp server. The DTAM settings are as follows: 3-way Delay before operate=10 or 100mSec 2-way Delay before operate=10 or 100 mSec 3-way Delay divrt during samp=10 or 100mSec. These settings did not change from the previous settings that were put in place on Tuesday 4-2-03. The settings prior to that day were 15 or 150mSec on all 3 timers. 04/03/2003 15:05 Darren During the time I was testing the settings for the delay within minimon I was creating a data file on PC2. The file JDJ03093.206 covers the time span from when testing began and data collection started up again on PC1. So file .206 takes the place of files .107, .108, and .109. 04/02/2003 08:23 Darren_C Yesterday Alan, Troy and I were on site to tune all the transceivers and check the timing of the gates. The facility was sampling at 20% or 2 minutes out of every 10 minutes. Sticks were passed through all testable monitors with 100% efficiencies. I modified the map files on both PC's to reflect the delays in Multimon that were necessary on coils A1-A4 and C1-C4. I will upload the new JDJ-GEN.MAP files to the ftp server. There were no problems found with any functions at this facility. 04/01/2003 12:05 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/04/01 06:56:54 03/31/2003 18:06 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2003/03/31 13:25:31 03/31/2003 18:06 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2003/03/31 13:22:15 03/27/2003 15:57 Dave I visited JDJ and MCJ on 3/25/03 and performed the following pre-season computer platform configuration operations at both sites: 1) I moved all historic data files from the c:\multimon\archive directory into zipped archives in "c:\multimon\2001 data" and "c:\multimon\2002 data" on both PC1 and PC2. 2) I deleted all daily and seasonal counter files in the c:\multimon\counters directory on both PC1 and PC2. 3) I modified the existing hardware configuration files, changing the number of files created per day from four to eight, and saving new files as "gen" rather than overwriting the existing "gn8" files. 4) I downloaded the new "gen" versions of the site maps and default databases from the PTAGIS FTP server to PC1 and PC2. I uploaded the "gen" versions of the hardware files from PC1 and PC2 to the PTAGIS FTP server. I updated the current ignor.tag file from the site to the PTAGIS FTP server. I deleted all "gn8" files on PC1 and PC2. All generic Multimon configuration files are now mirrored between each site's PC1 and PC2 platforms and the respective site directory on the PTAGIS FTP server. 5) With Multimon inactive, I synced the clocks on PC1 and PC2 to "real time". 6) I rebooted PC1 and PC2, changing the "Shut Down Windows" option from "Shut Down" to "Re-Start" as necessary. The Multimon platforms at JDJ and MCJ are now configured for "production" data collection.
