EVENT LOG FOR SITE JDJ The first line of each entry contains a date/time stamp & who is reporting. The most recent entry is listed first. Date Time Who ---------- ----- -------- 11/28/2007 11:29 Troy At the site 11/28/2007 to install a router. There are 2 gap files. JDJ07332.207 and .209. There was no data loss as the facility is de- watered. Establishing the VPN tunnels here caused 2 other sites to have issue, on route to address those issues. PCA and BB were verified for all 3 machines. 10/28/2007 10:00 Dave Win98 thinks we dropped out of Daylight Savings Time at 2AM this morning, and set its internal timer back one hour. This does NOT affect the timestamps in the MultiMon data files, but it does shift automatic file create back one hour. I pcA'd in and stopped/restarted MultiMon data collection to re-initialize the file creation timer. 10/24/2007 13:04 DGE_Robo PrimaryBypass (PrimaryBypass) changed from 'CLOSED' to 'OPEN' at 2007/10/24 11:40:05 10/24/2007 13:04 DGE_Robo PrimaryBypass (PrimaryBypass) changed from 'OPEN' to 'CLOSED' at 2007/10/24 11:39:48 10/19/2007 09:15 scottl@r 83:InputSyncDetect,83:ReaderReset: Noted and not of concern at this time. 10/16/2007 16:03 DGE_Robo PrimaryBypass (PrimaryBypass) changed from 'CLOSED' to 'OPEN' at 2007/10/16 13:51:04 10/16/2007 13:03 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/10/16 10:18:57 10/16/2007 13:03 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/10/16 10:18:57 10/16/2007 13:03 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/10/16 09:11:35 10/16/2007 13:03 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/10/16 09:11:35 10/15/2007 07:26 darren@r 01:LowExcCurrent,02:LowExcCurrent,03:LowExcCurrent,03:Overrun,04:LowExcCur rent,A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset: The low current alarms will be addressed via PCA. This will be discussed on Monday and we will repair or replace the transceiver. 09/15/2007 10:14 Dave On Sept. 13, the primary John Day juvenile fish bypass system, including the Juvenile Monitoring Facility (JMF), was dewatered for the remainder of the year. The collection channel will remain watered-up through mid-December, but the bypassed fish are routed to the tailrace in a channel not equipped with PIT tag detectors. 09/15/2007 08:56 Darren After checking the timer tag reports I discovered that the timer tags for all four (4) Full flow transceivers have not been firing since 9-13-07 at about 13:00. The noise levels and phase have shifted a great deal since that day and timeframe. PSMFC will be on site as soon as we can to correct this situation. 09/15/2007 08:47 darren@r 04:LowExcCurrent,04:Overrun: The status report indicates that the current is well above the threshold. The current is at 5.4A and the threshold is at 2.5A. After checking the raw file it indicates that the transceiver may be failing. I am getting analog comm failures as well. This system will be investigated on Monday and may need to be replaced. 09/14/2007 08:24 Don_Warf The COE site bio reports that the bypass pipe was dewatered yesterday 9/13/07 at 10:00am and will remain down until next season. 09/12/2007 08:26 darren@r C1:ReaderReset,C2:InputSyncDetect,C2:InputSyncLost,C4:InputSyncDetect,C4:I nputSyncLost: Alarms were caused by a random reader reset. 09/11/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/09/11 05:59:45 09/11/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/09/11 05:59:45 09/10/2007 11:51 Troy On site to upgrade the utility machine and perform a GMC on 09/10/2007. All transcievers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. 04 and 02's VTT's were tested after tuning and slightly adjusted. The 2 way (SbyC)and 3 way gates were tested. During the first two tests of the 2 way gate the gate seemed to be returning rather hard. On the third test of the gate the gate stopped moving. I inspected the gate and could not find an obvious cause for the the gate to stop rotating. I reported the problem to: the site COE represenative, Rick Martinson, Don Warf and Erin Kolvachec. Erin is going to turn in a TR to the COE to have this looked at. Rick reports that there is only a few days left in the season and that there is no SbyC scheduled and if there was the fish still have a safe passage. PC1 was over 1 min behind atomic time and PC2 was 35 seconds behind atomic time. The gap file JDJ07253.205 was manually uploaded after JDJ07253.104 was manually loaded. The rest of PC2's files were archived. Both PC's were adjusted to within 1 second of each other and atomic time. No data was reported to PC2 while PC1 was out of data collection. No other problems to report. 09/10/2007 07:03 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/09/10 05:58:38 09/10/2007 07:03 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/09/10 05:58:38 09/07/2007 07:03 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/09/07 05:58:47 09/07/2007 07:03 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/09/07 05:58:47 09/06/2007 07:03 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/09/06 05:58:49 09/06/2007 07:03 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/09/06 05:58:49 09/04/2007 07:54 troy@ree 03:LowExcCurrent: The current alarm threshold was lowered from 5200 to 5000 mA via PCA. This protocol states that when the morning water temperature reaches 70 degrees F., we will go into primary bypass mode at the switch gate 5 days per week and sample for fish condition 2 days per week (targeting approx. 100 fish/day). Our first day of sampling affected by this new protocol was July 16 and continues through today, August 22. This protocol will continue until daily average water temps get back to a daily average of 69.5 deg. F. So, currently, we are sampling two times per week. The samples are starting on Monday mornings at 0700 and going through Tuesday 0700; then the second sample starts on Thursday mornings at 0700 and goes through Friday 0700. 08/21/2007 08:16 darren@r A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset,A4:TestTagFailure: Random reader reset alarm. 08/21/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/21 05:59:32 08/21/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/21 05:59:32 08/21/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/21 05:49:32 08/20/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/20 05:59:35 08/18/2007 10:33 scottl@r A2:InputSyncDetect,A2:ReaderReset: Noted. 08/17/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/17 05:59:44 08/17/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/17 05:59:43 08/17/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/17 05:59:43 08/17/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/17 05:49:44 08/17/2007 07:02 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/17 05:49:44 08/16/2007 13:03 scottl@p Performed site GMC, all transceivers were tuned and calibrated as necessary, no problems to report.PC clocks are wqithn 3 seconds of each other and lagging atomic time by 9 seconds. At first it was suspected that the fuse holder had separated from the heat, this is a problem that was discovered during the installation of the FS1001A's. The fuse's were checked for arcing but no indications were found. When the unit was powered back up it lost the CPU board and had a constant buzzer. The unit was replaced and the failed unit will be further investigated in the lab as well as consulting with the manufacturer about this particular failure. Communications were checked back to the platform. 08/06/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/06 12:00:35 08/06/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/06 12:00:35 08/06/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/06 12:00:27 08/06/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/06 12:00:27 08/06/2007 10:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/06 06:01:45 08/06/2007 07:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/06 05:55:08 08/06/2007 07:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/06 05:52:54 08/03/2007 10:12 Dave pcA'd into JDJ-PC1 and JDJ-PC2 and reset MultiMon to DOS full-screen following the power outage earlier this week. 08/03/2007 10:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/03 06:00:33 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/02 13:00:34 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/02 12:56:52 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/02 12:56:50 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/02 12:56:50 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/02 12:56:37 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/02 12:56:37 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/02 12:56:35 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/02 12:56:28 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/02 12:56:25 08/02/2007 16:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/08/02 12:31:29 08/02/2007 10:01 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/08/02 06:00:35 08/02/2007 08:54 alan@ruf 04:ReaderReset: This will investigated during a site visit tomorrow. 08/01/2007 08:26 troy@ruf A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset,A4:TestTagFailure: PSMFC will be on site today to investigate. 07/31/2007 20:27 Dave There was a power outage from 9:06 until 10:19 this morning. There is a 32 second gap on PC1 for which there were no PITtag detections noticed on PC2. 07/16/2007 10:05 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/07/16 08:51:02 07/16/2007 10:05 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/07/16 06:44:32 07/16/2007 07:05 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/07/16 05:55:09 07/16/2007 07:05 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/07/16 05:55:09 07/16/2007 07:05 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/07/16 05:54:56 07/16/2007 07:05 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/07/16 05:54:56 07/15/2007 10:38 troy@ruf A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset: Random Reader Reset 07/13/2007 10:12 Darren PSMFC is currently in the investigation of the communication problems at both of these facilities. We will post the findings as they are discovered. 07/13/2007 10:10 Don_Warf From: Rick Martinson Hi Guys, Couple of things, the phones at John Day are down and a technician is on his way to investigate. The other issue I wanted to make you aware of is the modified sampling schedule decided on at FPOM yesterday. When the water temp reaches 70 degrees, smolt monitoring at John Day will be reduced to condition monitoring twice per week, Bonneville will go to an every other day schedule. Bypass will be achieved with switch gates so PIT tag detection will be through the full flow detectors only. The tunnels on the distribution flumes will be dewatered while we are in bypass. I didn't know if that would create problems for the coils but I thought you should know. 07/13/2007 08:19 darren@r SLC500:CommsFailure: PSMFC is aware of this alarm. Unit 03 on the full Flow system was detuned and the noise floor was elevated. Retuned but noise floor could not be reduced below 10 percent but TT hit rate was at 100. Another problem that was observed, transceiver 53's keypad was locked up. Reset reader and normal functionality was restored. No other problems to report. System clocks were within 21 seconds of each other, gate air pressure was at 90 psi. One other note, periodic spiking on all the Full Flow transceivers along with slight current fluctuations was observed. Syncing the system together might prove to adventages. 07/02/2007 13:05 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/07/02 11:55:32 07/02/2007 13:05 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/07/02 11:55:32 07/02/2007 13:05 DGE_Robo Sample_100% (A_S100) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/07/02 11:55:29 07/02/2007 13:05 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2007/07/02 11:55:29 07/01/2007 05:35 darren@r A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset: alarm generated by a random reader reset. All the transceivers were tuned and the buffers were cleared for the upcoming season. No sticks were passed through the separator monitor but the gates were tested with the test buttons and both were responding accordingly. There is no SbyC activity scheduled for this site so the diversion gate will be tested next by PSMFC. 04/02/2007 16:03 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2007/04/02 13:57:27 04/02/2007 09:56 Dave Reset MultiMon file creation schedule on both PCs. The PC clocks are within 2 seconds of each other and 8 seconds of atomic time. 04/01/2007 09:13 Darren I was able to PCA into this site and adjust the platform according to the Daylight Savings Time SOP. 03/30/2007 17:01 Dave I pcA'd in and re-initialized the default JDJ-GEN configuration on both PCs, in preparation for water-up on April 1. I reset the PC clocks to within 1 second of each other and atomic time. 03/14/2007 10:10 Dave The clocks on JDJ-PC1 and PC2 were both about 6 minutes fast. I reset them both to within a second of atomic time. Not an issue at this time, as the site is not yet watered-up. 03/09/2007 16:35 Dave I updated the ignor.tag and JDJ_Timer_Tags.txt definition files to include the new (and as yet hypothetical) Full Flow Bypass timer tags and pushed these new timer tag assignments into the test_tags table. 03/09/2007 15:53 Dave pcA'd in to both PCs and updated JDJ-GEN.MAP to enable the counters in the new Full Flow Bypass DU. When I logged in to both PCs, MultiMon was running in a window, more or less centered on the screen. On both PCs, I moved the window to its proper location in the upper right corner of the screen, and then placed MultiMon in full-screen DOS mode. 03/09/2007 13:47 Dave Yesterday, March 8, I updated the JDJ site configuration to 160, with the following modifications: 1) Added new 'FULL FLOW BYPASS' monitor. 2) Changed the 'Entry' attribute to "N" for the 'SbyC SEPARATOR GATE' and 'ADULT FISH RETURN' monitors. 3) Added Full Flow Bypass antennas, per Scott: RP# Ant# 0D 01 0E 02 1D 03 1E 04 03/09/2007 07:34 Scott_Li Modified the Remote Site Big Brother hosts file to include PC1 and PC2 03/08/2007 09:57 Darren Yesterday while on site the transceiver on antenna A4 was replaced. The communications to this transciever were lost in October because of a bad checksum error. The new transceiver was flashed with 5.0 and tuned. 03/07/2007 15:03 scottl Another note, The internet connection providing services to the smolt monitoring crew was removed. All connections were returned to their original configuration on the COE side of the network. 03/07/2007 14:57 scottl As per new policy, the data collection platforms were put back on the static addressing scheme in order to regain access to the platforms. Access to platforms was verified. The static addressing will be changing within the next couple of day's and will include 2 new addresses for a total of 4.Reconfiguration will take place either Friday the 9th or the following Monday. Pre-season platform tasks were also complete, anything referencing SByC was not touched. This will be left to the data analyst. Activities include, reconfiguration of the HSIP for introduction of the new Full Flow Bypass monitor. New addressing as follows. Full Flow Antennas: RP# Ant# 0D 01 0E 02 1D 03 1E 04 Master/Slave Cable was moved from RP 1D to 1F Changes indicated above were made in both the JDJ-GEN.HW1 and .HW2 config files, the same changes were also reflected in the JDJ-GEN.MAP file. Renamed the JDJ-GEN.HW1 and 2 and JDJ-GEN.MAP files on the FTP site to JDJ07Mar07.xxx for future use if needed. Uploaded the new GEN config files to the FTP server in the JDJ directory. Purged all 2006 data files from both PC1 and PC2 data directories and archived in the 2006 archive directory on the local computers. Clocks were not sync'd at this time. 02/26/2007 08:16 Alan_Bro For no apparent reason, PC1 stopped submitting files after 12:00 2/23/2007. With the help of site personnel it was discovered that PC1 was creating files properly. A test upload was performed, followed by a manual submission of outstanding files. PC1 was then rebooted. The site is currently dewatered. PTAGIS Field Operations will continue to monitor. 02/24/2007 15:13 Alan_Bro This will be investigated on Monday. The site is currently de-watered.
