When I arrived it appeared that the problem was fixed. I checked the raw file and the Primary Bypass indication changed state at 08:13 PST. I spoke with the COE electrician and he stated that he found the communication between the ML1000 PLC located near the switch gate, and the PLC 5 located in the SMP building had failed. He re-established communication and all seems well. The facility is scheduled to switch back to sampling (Primary Bypass OFF or Closed) tomorrow morning. Greg will give me a call when the switching is done and I'll PCA in to verify the states changed as they should. 08/12/2009 10:05 DGE_Robo PrimaryBypass (PrimaryBypass) changed from 'CLOSED' to 'OPEN' at 2009/08/12 08:13:02 08/11/2009 10:34 Troy A site GMC was performed 08/11/2009. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. There were a few PRIMARY BYPASS OPEN/CLOSED indications that were a result of PSMFC troubleshooting, the switch gate was not moved and the facility is currently in PRIMARY BYPASS. It appears that the PLC 5 that is maintained by the COE is no longer providing the output to the relay PSMFC uses for Primary Bypass indication. PTAGIS Field Operations will continue to monitor. 07/01/2009 11:08 Troy A site GMC was performed 07/01/2009. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. 10 sticks were thrown on the 3- way gate, all sticks were diverted properly and read on the appropriate coils. I investigated the 2-way gate and found the SOL to be full of oil. I blew out the oil and tried the gate but the gate still doesn't want to rotate on air. The gate can be rotated by hand but you have to try and turn it at the down stream end leading me to beleive that the problem lies somewhere in the upstream end. As the tube becomes void of water(weight) it turns easy in either direction. I can actually move the entire gate upstream and downstream ~1/8 which indicates the gate is free of sediment. There could be a flat spot on the bearing, it is difficult to tell but as water is re-introduced to the gate the gate becomes difficult to move. I tried increasing the air which helped some (the gate actually showed some movement in the correct direction) but I had no idea where I was at as the gauge is broke. I suggested to site personnel that the gauge be replace. COE officials told me that the plan is to dis-assemble and repair the gate at the end of the season. PC1 is 64 seconds behind atomic time and PC2 is 71 seconds behind atomic time. No other problems to report. 06/25/2009 08:48 alan@bay 04:LowExcCurrent: At the time of the last alarm the current matched the threshold at 4500mA. Presently, the current is 4800mA. PTAGIS Field Operations will continue to monitor. 06/24/2009 11:56 Alan A GMC was performed 6/25/2009. All transceivers were checked and tuned as necessary. The separation gate is in good working order. The SbyC gate is non-functional at this point. It does not rotate freely by hand with the air off. It is difficult to rotate to the diversion side but rotates much easier back to the top. It does not feel like there is sediment in the path. Feeling inside the upstream flume shows an eccentricity between the gate and the flume. The drawing shows bearings at both ends of the gate but the bill of materials explicity calls out none, leading to some confusion as to what surface the gate rotates on. Regardless, something in the rotating portion of the flume (or the cylinders by way of the belt) are obstructing proper rotation of the gate. Efforts are being made to have Corp personnel resolve the issue. All outstanding files on PC2 were archived. Both PCs are 48 seconds behind atomic time. The transceiver on antenna 03 was replaced because of the excessive amount of overrun alarms that have appeared since the UPS was installed. The 3-way gate was tested with 10 sticks. All diverted properly but it became apparent that there is a mechanical issue with the gate. It appears that the gate has 'jumped' 1 to 2 belt cogs towards the left. When the gate is in it's default state it is slightly turned to the left so when a divert request comes in the gate doesn't rotate all the way to the right. As a result it does not evacuate all the water from the 'straight' pipe and dump it into the right pipe but rather splits the flow between right and straight. The gate is also missing an air muffler. I informed Terry Hurd of the situation and he will be issuing a trouble ticket to the power house. PC1 is 12 seconds behind atomic time and PC2 is 16 seconds behind atomic time. I also cycled the 2 way gate several times. 04/05/2009 21:05 Dave File OPEN/CLOSE intervals shifted forward one hour at 2AM because Win98 thinks today is the first day of Daylight Savings Time. I stopped and then restarted data collection in MultiMon on JDJ-PC1 and JDJ-PC2, as required in these situations. 04/05/2009 10:09 Troy Stopped and started the uploader and pushed the delinquent file. 04/02/2009 14:01 Greg The JDA SMF was watered-up in primary bypass mode at approximately 1700 hrs (PDT) on 3/30/2009 and went into sample mode at approximately 0700 hrs (PDT) on 3/31/2009. 04/02/2009 13:33 troy@bay 04:LowExcCurrent: This alarm will be addressed on the next site visit. 04/01/2009 15:37 Alan A GMC was performed 4/1/2009. All transceivers were checked and tuned as necessary. Transceiver 03 was replaced. The gates were stick tested. The SbyC gate diverted all sticks properly. The 3-Way gate missed 4 out 50 during testing today. All three delay before ops were set to "0". We will revisit this in the near future. The corp is going to replace the air gauges on both gates as neither can be read at this point. Both PCs (~50 seconds slow) were set to within one second of atomic time. The DSL modem was power cycled to restore communications. No other problems found. 04/01/2009 11:51 DGE_Robo DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2009/03/31 05:59:03 04/01/2009 11:51 DGE_Robo SampleGateBypass (SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2009/03/31 05:59:03 03/31/2009 08:21 troy@bay 04:LowExcCurrent: This will be investigated on the next site visit. 03/24/2009 10:39 Troy PCA'ed into PC2 and set 01,02 and 04 to Unique ON. I could not get a response back from 03, this will have to be looked into on the next site visit. 03/24/2009 09:18 Don_Warf The site bio reports that the site will water up on 3/30 in primary bypass. The sampling facility will water up on 3/31. 03/10/2009 12:36 Alan The annual platform reset was performed on both PCs. USB drivers were also loaded during this visit. 03/02/2009 10:06 Troy At site 03/02/2009 to test the gates. I was able to test the 3 way to the divert position but not to the sample position. The test button may need to be replaced. The two way was tested and it was reported to site personnel that the shock that absorbs the return to TDC may need to be adjusted. The gate hits pretty hard when it returns from the divert position. Site personnel report that it is in their daily rounds to test the 2 way once a day which will hopefully keep the gate operational all year. No other problems to report. 01/28/2009 12:05 DGE_Robo PrimaryBypass (PrimaryBypass) changed from 'OPEN' to 'CLOSED' at 2009/01/28 09:48:48 01/28/2009 12:05 DGE_Robo PrimaryBypass (PrimaryBypass) changed from 'CLOSED' to 'OPEN' at 2009/01/28 09:48:47 01/13/2009 08:03 troy@bay 51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:InputSyncLost,54:InputSyncDetect,54:I nputSyncLost: Site down for season, clearing TASS. 01/06/2009 13:40 Scott_Li Hobbit indicates that the router and PC's are not responding to Ping requests starting at slightly before 1200 pm.
