This was done to denote the lack of certainty in the disposition of fish that pass through these monitors; they may be transported or bypassed back to the river, based on facility operations that are unreported or under-reported to PTAGIS. Since the JBS at LMJ is currently dewatered, and no fish are currently being detected at LMJ, this change in the disposition category has absolutely no impact on past or current PIT tag detections. This change in disposition at these two LMJ monitors will be implemented during next Spring's pre-season site tally report configuration. 11/15/2006 07:14 darren@r 01:ReaderReset,02:InputSyncDetect,02:ReaderReset,11:ReaderReset,12:InputSy ncDetect,12:ReaderReset,13:InputSyncDetect,13:ReaderReset,21:ReaderReset,2 2:InputSyncDetect,22:ReaderReset,23:InputSyncDetect,23:ReaderReset,31:Read erReset,32:InputSyncDetect,32:ReaderReset,33:InputSyncDetect,33:ReaderRese t,41:ReaderReset,42:InputSyncDetect,42:ReaderReset,43:InputSyncDetect,43:R eaderReset,51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:ReaderReset,81:ReaderReset ,82:InputSyncDetect,82:ReaderReset,91:ReaderReset,92:InputSyncDetect,92:Re aderReset,93:ReaderReset,A1:ReaderReset,A2:InputSyncDetect,A2:ReaderReset, A3:InputSyncDetect,A3:ReaderReset,A4:InputSyncDetect,A4:ReaderReset,B1:Rea derReset,B2:InputSyncDetect,B2:ReaderReset,B3:InputSyncDetect,B3:ReaderRes et,B4:InputSyncDetect,B4:ReaderReset,F1:ReaderReset,F2:InputSyncDetect,F2: ReaderReset: Alarms generated by a brief power outage. Delinquent files were not manually pushed to PTAGIS. The uploader will submit files in the next 3 hrs. 10/25/2006 07:55 Alan_Bro The six-minute file gap on 10/24/2006 was the result of PC1 going through a re-boot. No PIT Tag data was lost as the facility is shut down for the year. 10/24/2006 09:45 Alan_Bro Automated file loading has been disabled. 10/20/2006 07:12 scottl@r 51:ReaderReset,52:InputSyncDetect,52:InputSyncLost: Noted 10/09/2006 11:16 PTOC_Bot Timer Tags for LMJ in LMJ_Timer_Tags.txt added to test_tags Mon Oct 9 10:11:53 PST 2006 10/05/2006 08:07 Troy Took PC1 and PC2 out of data collection so that the ignore.tag file would load. It was found that a jumper in the PLC logic did not get properly removed so the PLC had been in DDS mode since 6/20/06. The good news is that the site has been in 100% sample since 9:55 am on 6/21 but the DDS switch was turned to the off position. Due to the jumper in the logic this had no adverse effect on the disposition of the fish. The bad news is that the gate efficiencies took a hit. The jumper will be remove properly from the logic today. 06/22/2006 07:41 Troy PSMFC is looking into the poor efficiency of A gate. No timing changes were done but several gate openings were initiated from PC1 which may have resulted in some bycatch, however fish traffic was slow. The DII or Discrete Input Interrupt has the highest priority of all the AB interrupts and that was not fast enough to catch the hall sensor. The program was proved to at least work by moving the sensor inches from the front of the cylinder. The thought was to sense the magenet before it was up to full speed. This proved to be a helpful troubleshooting tool. In the long run if the sensor was moved to a location were the magnet inside was traveling at full speed the PLC did not capture the event. The conclusion of the testing is that a Hall sensor limit switch is too fast for the PLC without a pulse width extendor or purchasing a special high speed counter card for the PLC. More research will be conducted next week with a laser sensor. Stay tuned. 06/08/2006 12:44 Alan A GMC was performed 6/8/2006. All transceivers were checked and tuned as necessary. Threw several sticks and determined that the delay op was not enough so I increased the delay op from 40 to 50. The Seperator Operator stated that they are having debri problems and that the de-waterer was adjusted this am and that the water levels should remain the same from here on out. The cleaning of debri below the seperator bars and prior to the exit of the seperator is pretty much a non-stop effort. The effects of debri cleaning could result in a lot of by catch due to large numbers being released when the debri is removed from the exit of the seperator but the degradation of the gate effiency today was due to missed fish. It seems that when the de-waterers start to plug the water level goes up which would increase flow and result in missed fish. PSMFC will continue to monitor. Hopefully water flows stay at their current velocity. 06/05/2006 16:49 Scott_Li Responded to the message problem with remote data sites, Manually pushed data files via PCA , no apparent reason for these sites not to load at the scheduled interval. PSMFC personnel will be doing testing on this next week. 05/03/2006 14:23 Troy A joint site visit was made today between PSMFC, NMFs and COE personell to discuss the recent failures of gates at this site. Jim Simonson of NMF inspected the failed or broken gates and notice that the mounting hole for the gate was either elongated or completely ripped out which is most likely due to what is refered to as a double slam. A double slam is where a pit tag comes through while the gate is traveling closed which trows the timing off and cause the gate to slam open. The stiffness of the bumpers were increase and the alignment of the gates were checked. The gates were in proper working order upon arrival and were working well. It has been proposed that a limit switch be mounted on the cyclinder to work in conjunction with the gate times. Limit switches alone have been tried in the past but when they would fail the gate would be out of commission. With timing in conjunction with the limit switch the worst case senario would be the limit switch failing which would leave the facility operating the way it currently is. Limit switches are on order and programming is in progress 05/02/2006 08:32 troy@ruf B2:InputSyncDetect,B2:InputSyncLost,B2:ReaderReset,B3:InputSyncDetect,B3:I nputSyncLost,B3:ReaderReset,B4:InputSyncDetect,B4:InputSyncLost: These alarms are the result of a GMC where troubleshooting was done to try and remedy the sync problems occuring on the B monitor. 05/01/2006 16:28 Troy On site to recommission A Gate. The Uploader would hang on the message: Server:150 Opening Binary mode data connection ...ext. I was able to submit one file manually but only one after increaseing the timeout delay from 20 to 25. I then hard booted PC1 but still recieved the same error every time I tried to submit a file. I have the delinquint files on floppy and will submit them in the morning. I archived the files that I have on floppy disk. I'm told the T1 line should be resolved by tomorrow, but it is curious that I'm able to surf the web with realive ease. More to come.... 04/27/2006 16:04 Scott_Li Per COE WW I/S , they are still experiencing extremely slow connection speeds on the T-1 line. Quest will be running tests on the line starting tomorrow morning in order to help identify where the problem lies. So we should expect there to be intermittent data service outages through out the day. Scott L will be in contact with Dave Demaris for status on situation. 04/27/2006 09:20 Scott_Li Per COE WW I/S, they are currently working with Quest and Centry Tel to resolve the T-1 issues on .32 subnet. Dave Demaris will keep on this issue until resolved. In the mean time, PTAGIS personnel will be on-site sometime this morning and try to get data files to PTAGIS. More soon regarding this issue. 04/27/2006 08:57 Scott_Li File load stats indicate that the site has not submitted data files since 26April file 06116.105. Remote access connection was extremely slow and could not cleanly exit from the remote computer, therefore could not manually push delinquent file to PTAGIS. Called COE WW I/S and they indicated that the DOD may be doing a security scan of that entire subnet. Currently waiting on a call from Dave Demaris (COE) to get the more information regarding the situation. 04/26/2006 13:26 Darren PSMFC was informed this morning that at 2345 on 4-25-06 there was a similar problem with the "B" separator gates as the previous day. COE mechanics worked on the gate to get the problem solved. When I arrived the gate was already repaired. I passed 50 sticks through the monitor and observed the gate activity. the gate was functioning properly with no indications of drag or skew. The COE personnel explained that a bracket that holds the air piston in place had broke and allowed the piston to become misaligned and thus causing the gate to stick in the open position. The air was removed at 23:45 and the gate was shut. This site is currently not collecting for transport but will begin at 07:00 on Friday 4-28-06. 04/26/2006 09:52 darren@r B2:TestTagFailure: Alarm was caused by PSMFC personnel while performing a site GMC. 04/26/2006 08:58 Alan_Bro Manually pushed LMJ06115.107, LMJ06115.108, LMJ06116.101 and LMJ06116.102 to PTAGIS via PCA. 04/25/2006 16:36 DGE_Robo A_SampleGateBypass (A_SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2006/04/25 13:01:42 04/25/2006 16:36 DGE_Robo B_SampleGateBypass (B_SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2006/04/25 13:01:42 04/25/2006 14:31 Darren We shut the air off to PIT gate “B” at approximately 2330 last night, due to excessive banging of the gate on closure. We did not want to damage the gate. Upon inspection this morning, Jon found that the gate was getting partially stuck at the end of the open part of the cycle due to misalignment of the air piston with the gate, which was caused by broken welds that positioned the piston. Jon is currently fixing it and should get it back in service this morning. Ken This message was sent after I had already left the office headed for both GOJ and LMJ. When I arrived Ken Fone informed me that the gate was currently being replaced. After checking all the transceivers for tuning and noise I spoke with the COE mechanic and the gate was just being finished. It appears that the gate had become misalinged and was not opening all the way and then it was banging shut. The gate was replaced and then it was tested first by using the test button several times and then by passing 20 diversion stick through the monitor. The timing of the gate as well as the operation look efficient and all 20 sticks were diverted properly. the "A" side was tested as well with the same results. PSMFC will monitor this site and adjust the gates as necessary. I lost the connection again after successfully sending the data file. I have not been able to re-establish a connection to LMJ-PC2. I left the machine with PTTP-Uploader open, and MultiMon running in a window in the background. This is highly undesirable. If this problem is not addressed today it will be tomorrow and the site will be periodically checked to ensure it is still up and running. 04/13/2006 16:09 DGE_Robo B_SampleGateBypass (B_SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2006/04/13 14:42:49 04/13/2006 16:09 DGE_Robo A_SampleGateBypass (A_SBypass) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2006/04/13 14:42:49 04/13/2006 16:09 DGE_Robo A_DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2006/04/13 10:03:38 04/13/2006 16:09 DGE_Robo B_DivertDuringSample (B_DDSample) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2006/04/13 10:03:38 04/13/2006 16:09 DGE_Robo B_SampleGateBypass (B_SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2006/04/13 10:03:30 04/13/2006 16:09 DGE_Robo A_SampleGateBypass (A_SBypass) changed from 'ON' to 'OFF' at 2006/04/13 10:03:29 04/13/2006 16:09 DGE_Robo A_DivertDuringSample (A_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2006/04/13 10:03:27 04/13/2006 16:09 DGE_Robo B_DivertDuringSample (B_DDSample) changed from 'OFF' to 'ON' at 2006/04/13 10:03:25 04/12/2006 08:11 darren@r B1:ReaderReset,B2:BadOscFreq,B2:InputSyncDetect,B2:InputSyncLost,B2:LowExc Current,B2:ReaderReset,B2:TestTagFailure,B3:InputSyncDetect,B3:InputSyncLo st,B3:ReaderReset,B4:InputSyncDetect,B4:InputSyncLost: These alarms were generated by PSMFC personnel while on site doing maintenance. Cycling the power brought it back to proper operation. The exciter cable was replaced due to possible arcing. Transceiver B1 was showing intermittent noise due to turbulance from a damaged silicone seal just upstream of the B Monitor. Site personnel removed the offending silicone and normal operation resumed. The solenoids on the A and B gates were retro-fitted by placing a plug into the "M" hole on the "B" side solenoid. This allowed us to remove the snubbers that were on the single solenoid and only use the single snubber on the dual solenoid for adjustment. This creates a better soft close for the gate. Current gate settings are: Gate A Delay Op 45 Travel Open 23 Time Open 130 Travel close 18 PSI 89 Gate B Delay Op 25 Travel Open 26 Time Open 120 Travel close 19 PSI 90 The A and B separator gates were stick tested with 25 sticks each, results following: A1 25/25 A2 25/25 A3 25/25 A4 25/25 B1 25/25 B2 25/25 B3 25/25 B4 25/25 31 25/25 32 23/25 33 25/25 41 25/25 42 25/25 43 25/25 All sticks diverted properly. The clocks on both PCs were set to within one second of atomic time. No activity was observed on PC2 during PC1's downtime. Multimon is running full screen on both PCs. Transceiver B2 was replaced die to a "sync out" problem. It was also noted that the transceiver on coil 93 has a "sync in" problem but because the coil is not in a monitor with another coil it is performing as expected. The settigns for the PLC are as follows: A B PSI 85 90 delay op 45 25 travel open 25 30 time open 130 120 travel close32 28 The Adult fallback antennas were tested by passing sticks through on a string. The detection efficiencies were 100%. 04/03/2006 09:21 Dave pcA'd into the site's PC2 computer. Stopped and restarted MultiMon to reset "normal" data file generation times, which were disrupted yesterday by the shift from PST to PDT. Darren had already done this to the PC1 computer yesterday. Archived the accumulated data files on PC2. Verified that the two PC clocks were within our standard tolerances (less than five seconds discrepancy between PCs, and less than 30 seconds discrepancy between either PC and atomic time). 04/02/2006 11:01 darren Multimon was stopped and restarted as well as PTTP uploader. There will be a temporary ~ 20 minute disruption of data services while this takes place. He confirmed with the Operators that the T1 Line was lost during a wind storm early on the morning of 02/04/06. At the time of this posting the break in the line has not yet been found but they are working on restoring it. More info will be posted as it becomes available. 02/04/2006 08:59 Troy It looks as if this site has failed to load this morning. PSMFC will monitor to see if it fixes itself. If it hasn't been resolved by Monday, PSMFC will take a closer look at the problem and get it resolved prior to this site watering up. 01/20/2006 16:06 Dave I've updated the timer tag list for LMJ, using the new ignor.tag file provided by Darren.
