On 12/15/2009, we used a backpack electrofisher to try to clear the detection field of resident PIT tagged fish. Prior to this, average noise levels were in the 60-75% range for antenna #2 but dropped to 30-47% after shocking. Currently, noise levels are averaging in the low to mid 30% range for antenna #2. Noise levels did not change for antenna #1. One PIT tag code has remained in the field and is likely a shed tag that is sitting underneath of antenna #2. 12/02/2009 08:09 Mike Site operations are normal. However, resident PIT tagged fish continue to reside in the detection field at LRW. Discharge is fairly constant and ice is building along the edges of the Lemhi River. 11/22/2009 12:04 Mike Site operations are normal. However, previously PIT tagged O. mykiss continue to reside within the detection field and are increasing noise levels on antenna #2. Water temperatures are near 0°C at the weir site. 10/29/2009 06:37 Mike Interrogation activity at LRW resumed on 10/28/2009 at 0715 PST. Also, the excessive noise levels on antenna 2 have been resolved and are back within acceptable levels. Site operations are back to normal. 10/27/2009 07:31 Mike LRW interrogation activity was interrupted on 10/20/2009 at 06:28 PST due to software issues. We are currently working on resolving the issue. 10/18/2009 06:56 Mike Interrogation activity at LRW was interrupted at 0959 PST on 10/12/09 due to a power failure. Interrogation activity was resumed 10/14/09 at 0745 PST. Site operations back to normal. 09/29/2009 13:13 Mike Site operations normal at LRW. Stream discharge remains around 150 cfs and water temperatures have dropped to 10.4 degrees Celsius. Two PIT tags, not associated w/fish, are currently residing within the detection field. This is increasing noise levels and preventing the buffering of test tags. So far, attempts to find or eliminate the tags have failed. 09/16/2009 12:43 Mike LRW interrogations were interrupted at 0512 on 9/08/09 due to a power failure. Interrogation activity resumed on 9/14/09 at 0924. Site operations back to normal. 09/07/2009 08:42 Mike LRW activated on August 18 at 1450 PST. Interrogation was interrupted on August 20 for additional testing and was also interrupted on August 31 from 1532 to 2155 PST to replace serial cable and search for tag in the detection field. 08/27/2009 13:50 Dave Initial log creation for the Lemhi River Weir. The site steward is Jeff Lutch, IDFG. The technical point of contact is Mike Biggs, IDFG. ####End of Event Log for LRW###
