A call has been placed to Eastern Oregon Telecom. More info to come when available. 10/25/2011 06:55 darren@b 06:Overrun: Problematic system. 10/09/2011 07:59 Troy@bay 02:TestTagFailure: Noted. 10/06/2011 15:27 Rclark@b 01:BadExcFreq,01:BadOscFreq,01:LowExcCurrent: Caused by PSMFC personel during site visit. 10/06/2011 14:10 Roger Site visit on 10/6/2011 to investigate elevated noise levels on counting window antennas 01 and 02. Antenna 02 was retuned and has low noise levels. Antenna 01 was retuned and still had elevated and spikey noise. Counting window personel had indicated that the water flow had over topped the antennas a couple of times in the last month. I went to inspect the exciter connector at the antenna. Upon removing the flex conduit fitting, it was discovered that the plastic connector backshell (potted antenna mate) was broken and the connector popped off when the flex conduit was removed. The pins on the antenna connector were inspected and it was determined that 1 pin was very loose and 1 pin is slightly loose. Reseated the connector and reattached the flex conduit. The transceiver noise is still spikey. This antenna is scheduled to be replaced during winter maintenance. A temporary fix may need to be implemented if the noise level gets any worse. I suspect that a large piece of debris hit the flex conduit when the water was over topping the antenna, causing the connector to break. 10/04/2011 09:28 Roger Performed site GMC on 10/4/2011. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjusted as needed. PC1 and PC2 are within 1 second of atomic time and each other. The alarm on antenna 0C was a one time alarm. 09/12/2011 10:11 Darren A site GMC was performed today 9-12-11. The noise elevation on antenna 01 appears to be related to the antenna. I checked the seating of the antenna and it has not moved. I adjusted the power supply in both directions and it does not appear to be oscillation. The noise is bouncing between 8-15% but the detection efficiencies have been very good. This is an original fiberglass antenna and it will be replaced at the end of this season. It may be the capacitors that are installed in this system. All other transceivers were checked and adjusted as necessary for tuning, noise, and detectability. No problems were discovered during this visit. 09/10/2011 06:50 rclark@b 01:LowExcCurrent: Caused by PSMFC personel during site GMC. 09/09/2011 13:40 Roger Performed site GMC on 9/9/2011. Clearing TASS. 03/15/2011 11:11 Darren In addition to the last post. I also rebooted the sonicwall as we have been experiencing some brief drops in the communications. Eastern Oregon Telecom this morning indicated that there were no problems on their end and by the time I left the office the comms had stabilized. 03/15/2011 11:09 Darren A site GMC was performed today (3-15-11). All transceivers were checked and adjusted for noise, tuning, and detectability. I also investigated the current drop on antenna 06. I found that the current follows the antenna as well as the noise. When the antenna power is removed and then reapplied the noise goes into the 80-90% range for a brief period and then relaxes into the 20-30%, this is usually the case when the caps are failing or wet. I was also present when the noise was rolling through 0B-12. I tried several ideas including adjsuting the ground cables but nothing seem to improve this problem. As I was watching the noise it subsided. PSMFC has been investigating this phenomenon for some time, we will continue to try and solve this mystery. No other problems were discovered during this visit. 03/15/2011 07:33 darren@b 06:LowExcCurrent: This alarm will be investigated today during a site GMC. 03/14/2011 08:21 darren@b 06:LowExcCurrent,06:TestTagFailure: This system will be investigated during the next site GMC.
