EVENT LOG FOR SITE PRJ Most recent activity to be listed first. First line of each entry lists date, time and who is reporting. Subsequent lines of each entry aligned under Time column. Do not use tabs, only spaces. Date Time Who What ---------- ----- -------- ----------------------------------------------- 12/31/2003 11:39 Alan Sucessfully resent PRJ03364.G1 from PC1 to fill a gap created when the server wouldn't accept it yesterday. 12/31/2003 09:59 Alan Sucessfully resent PRJ03364.C1 through .F1 from PC1 to fill a gap created when the server wouldn't accept them yesterday. 12/29/2003 14:29 Darren_C I spoke with Mark Johnstone today (12-29-03) and he confirmed that the canal was watering up today and that the facility would have water passing through it on Sunday 1-4-04. I have PCA'd into the site to verify all transceiver activity. I have archived all 2003 data into a folder (2003 Data) and verified file submission. The site is currently ready for the 2004 season. PTOC personnel will be on site within the next two weeks to fine tune transceivers and stick test monitors. 12/24/2003 10:24 Darren The files PRJ03357.F, .G, .H were manually uploaded to fill file gap. The site had archived them before they were received on the server. 12/12/2003 13:49 Darren The version of Minimon has been upgraded on PC1 to Version 1.0.4.3, The latest and greatest from John. We will watch this site for any problems that may happen. The first file with this version is PRJ03346.H. 12/09/2003 21:00 Dave Mark Johnstone notified me today that the Chandler Canal trap would water-up by December 29, and perhaps as early as December 22. 11/17/2003 16:35 Dave Scott is disabling automated file uploads from the active interrogation data platforms at all inactive fish facilities. I have disabled file checking in etc/sites for these locations. Automated uploads (and file checking) will resume when the firewall issue is resolved. 10/23/2003 16:25 Darren_C Site has been reporting communication, on PC1, errors like we have seen in the past, they are similar to rocketport failures. We tried rebooting the PC to see if that was all the problem was. I went back today to replace the rocketport card. We will be testing the rocketport card in the lab next week to see if we can duplicate the failure here before sending back to comtrol. 10/20/2003 08:14 Darren_C I tried to PCA into this site over the weekend but was only able to get into PC2. This site is currently not in any kind of pittag collection, the issue will be dealt with on the next scheduled site visit. 10/20/2003 08:02 Scott_Li Problem with remote data site will be corrected this morning. 10/18/2003 08:41 D._Chase I will have to PCA into site to try and figure out why the site has not loaded since yesterday at 10:23. The site is not currently collecting any fish and has not since July 12. I will post my findings later. 10/09/2003 12:13 Dave As requested by Don, I modified etc/sites for this (inactive) site to redirect any "Problems with remote data sites..." messages to Kennewick staff only. I will incorporate this task into the SOP document for inactive sites. 10/01/2003 09:02 alan@ruf A2:BadOscFreq: This site is out of operation at this time. PTOC will investigate on the next site visit. 09/29/2003 09:08 alan@ruf A3:BadOscFreq: This site is out of operation at this time. PTOC will investigate on the next site visit. 09/08/2003 09:17 darren@r A2:BadOscFreq: PTOC personnel will check this alarm out when the site is next visited. Currently there is no fish passage through the facility. 08/08/2003 09:21 Alan It appears that the rocket port card needs to be re-seated in PC1. Examination of the raw files show that it hasn't given coherant data (test tags or status dump) since 7/30/2003. Using PCA I can see that PC2 is operating fine. David Lind reported that the trap was shut down 7/12/2003. PTOC will handle this on the next site visit. 08/05/2003 10:04 Dave David Lind reports that the trap was shut down on July 12 at 8:00 AM.. He anticipates it will be activated again in mid-December. 07/31/2003 15:30 troy Performed site GMC. All transceivers were checked for tune. No water was running over the seperator. All checked out good. 07/17/2003 08:52 Darren_C PTOC personnel noticed that there was no timer tag for coil A1 firing. After some investigation the timer tag did fire at 20:59 on 7-16 but from then on it was not seen. I PCA'd into PC2 and found that the timer tag was firing fine. I then PCA'd into PC1 and found the message " Device reset due to unknown BPA protocol". I have seen this happen one other time last year at ESJ. THe tag information seem to come in as a new file was being opened at 21:00. It is firing timer tags as of 09:07 on 7-17-03. There have been no pittag detections during the time that A1 was not communicating. 07/11/2003 10:59 Darren_C I went to the site to find out what was wrong with PC1. I found that the PC was locked up but I was able to close the current file and did not lose any data. I sent the files from PC1 after it was rebooted. I checked on PC2 and there has not been a PITtag detection from 7-7-03 to today. This is the second time in the last 6 days this has happened. It appears that at 24:00 on 7-9-03 a connection was trying to made from PC1 and the remote server was not found and the connections was closed, but it did not appear to reset the port so every time after that I received the message "no dial tone". I checked the phone line after rebooting and it was clear with dial tone. We will watch for this failure again. 07/11/2003 08:14 Darren_C I will be going to the site this morning to find out what is going on with PC1 and why it has not loaded. If there are any error messages I will be letting John T. and Nadia G. know because we had this site lock up last weekend. It was the same problem that was encountered last year with a few of the dial-up sites. 07/06/2003 15:52 Alan I rebooted PC1 at 9:36 computer time this morning to clear a lock up condition that was preventing automatic file uploading. PC1 was back in data collection mode at 9:38 computer time. During the 2 minute gap no fish data came through according to PC2. I also rebooted PC2 at 9:56 just to gain some confidence in it. The on site personnel reported no unusual occurrences to cause this problem. 07/02/2003 11:13 Alan_Bro A GMC was performed 7/1/2003. Transceivers were tuned and the Separator was stick tested with 20 sticks. Coil A1, 17 reads Coil A2, 20 reads Coil A3, 20 reads 06/29/2003 08:19 D._Chase This is the last timer tag or any messaging from transceiver A1. PTOC staff will check this site on Monday for possible transceiver failure. ~A1-2 06/28/03 00:46:06 ALARM MESSAGE: Test Tag Found. ~A1-2 06/28/03 00:46:06 ALARM MESSAGE: Single-shot test with Test Tag. | 02 06/28/03 00:46:06 3D9.0EEEEEE5B6 XX A1. 06/26/2003 15:07 darren@r A2:TestTagFailure: Alarm generated by PTOC personnel while performing a site GMC. 06/19/2003 12:28 Alan A GMC was performed 6/18/2003. Transceivers were tuned and the Separator was sucessfully stick tested, reading 20 out of 20 sticks. 06/13/2003 15:19 Alan A GMC was performed 6/13/2003. Transceivers were tuned and the Separator was stick tested, 20 of 20 tags detected on all coils. No problems found. 06/08/2003 09:56 darren@r A2:TestTagFailure: Not a valid alarm. Test did fire but there was a pittag in the feild between the request to and the firing of the timer tag. 06/04/2003 23:44 Alan_Bro A GMC was performed 6/4/2003. Transcievers were tuned and the separator coils were stick tested. No problems found. There were two power outages at approximately 11:30 and 11:45 this morning according to the separator operator Steve Salinas. 06/02/2003 08:50 Alan A GMC was performed 5/30/2003. Transcievers were tuned and the separator was sucessfully stick tested. 05/05/2003 16:32 Darren_C The site was visited because of a decline in efficiencies on coil A1, that was noticed the last two days. After further investigation we noticed that the tag codes were not being missed but rather they were being buffered up and then sent to the computer when the next code behind it was seen and sent to the computer. I had to take PC1 down and reseat the rocketport card. I filled the time gap with the file from PC2. I then tested with sticks and the problem was resolved. We will watch closely for this failure in the next few days, we may need to replace the rocketport card. I also noticed that we are having the same problem with water flow around the corner from the separator monitor in that fish are schooling up and then swimming back up into the monitor and being re-read but only on A2 and A3. I will contact Mark Johnstone about possibly rectifying this problem. 05/04/2003 11:23 scott Coil A1 need attention. Will visit site on Monday, May 4th.to correct the problem. 04/29/2003 15:33 Darren_C Site was visited for a GMC. Sticks were thrown through the separator monitor no problems were found . 03/14/2003 11:11 Scott_Li Reviewed entire status of these sites and did not detect any significant events that warrants attention. 01/14/2003 16:31 Scott_Li The problem reported earlier with regards to PC2 acting peculiar when sending remote commands, appeared to be buffering data has been corrected.. The rocketport card was the culprit. Replaced RP card and the system is behaving normally. Ran sticks on all the monitors, Separator coils and sample coils all detected 10 sticks out of 10. 01/13/2003 09:59 Darren_C On Friday I went to the site because when I was doing the timer tags for Dave I noticed that the site had not loaded since 1-3-03. We have not received any messages to this fact but I could not get into the PC via PCA. I found that the PC was locked up except the keyboard, Minimon was collecting data but I had no control of the mouse. I also noticed that PC2 was experiencing some phenomonon with Minimon in that when a command was sent to transceiver A1 such as a DTS (fire the timer tag) I would receive 2 or 3 lines of a status dump and then the timer tag would fire but it would fire 2 or 3 times. This kind of Phenom has been witnessed before. Scott and I will check into this and report our findings to John Tenney. I will post what we find to the event log. 01/01/2003 12:19 Dave The Prosser facility apparently watered-up for the 2003 season on 12/26/02. Initialized new event log for 2003. 2002 event log has been archived. ####End of Event Log for PRJ###
