EVENT LOG FOR SITE PRO The first line of each entry contains a date/time stamp & who is reporting. The most recent entry is listed first. Date Time Who ---------- ----- -------- 12/27/2009 09:21 Darren I checked the communications on PC1 and PC2 and found "unknown communication errors" for antenna 02. I stopped and started the minimon application on both PC's and this appears to have restored the communications for 02. There is a small file gap on PC1 during which time there was no fish traffic. 12/27/2009 09:06 Darren It appears that the radio communications or the transceiver has failed on antenna 02. It lost timer tags on file D1 yesterday. 12/11/2009 10:27 Darren PSMFC was on site yesterday to investigate the communication issues with both 03 and 04. The modem at the center bank ladder was replaced for 03. Modem 04 was working well and was not replaced. We are monitoring the comms and will make any necessary changes to solve the problems. 12/02/2009 08:55 alan@bay 02:LowExcCurrent,02:Overrun: These alarms will be investigated during the next site visit. 11/25/2009 21:52 Dave Tag 3D9.1C2C2AE546 was stored to the buffer of transceiver #02 sometime between 11:08 and 14:15 on Nov. 25. The buffer was dumped into the "live" file (PRO09329.F1) between 15:23:39 and 15:23:41. I assigned a "median" time of 12:30 to the detection event, and moved these detections to the "proper" file (PRO09329.E1). I also "commented out" the original buffered detections in PRO09329.F1 to prevent them from generating a NET_ANOM error during reprocessing by IDL. 11/25/2009 18:11 Darren The Left Bank ladder remodel was completed This afternoon at around 15:20. The process began at 10:40 this morning when the power was killed until 11:08. Then transceiver 02 was activated and detecting PIT tag data without radio communications back to the platform. At ~14:15 transceiver 02 was removed and transceiver 01 was detecting PIT tags without radio communications. At ~15:15 both transceivers were installed and communicating with the data collection platform. There were no detections on transceiver 01 but there were detections on transceiver 02, these detections were downloaded to the file PRO09329.F1 at 15:23, there was only one tag code but it was detected multiple times. The remodel of all three ladders is now complete. All transceivers are now out of the vaults and on the deck. 11/23/2009 10:18 Don_Warf DLW email test _____________________________________________ From: Don Warf Sent: Monday, November 23, 2009 9:26 AM To: 'pitevent@psmfc.org'; 'pitevent@ptagis.org' Subject: gra,grj,goj,rpj,lmj,ich,mcj,mc1,mc2,jdj,pro,esj,jcj,cfj,bcc,bo1,bo2,bo3,b2 j,rzf Email test 11/23/2009 09:39 Troy_Hum Email Test from Troy 11/21/2009 07:22 alan@bay 01:TestTagFailure,03:LowExcCurrent,04:TestTagFailure: These alarms were generated by PTAGIS Field Operations personnel during a site visit. 11/20/2009 18:09 Darren The breakers for antennas 01 and 02 were accidentally tripped for ~22 minutes from 16:12 to 16:35. The situation was caught and corrected. 11/20/2009 17:49 Darren At of ~13:30 this afternoon the center ladder remodel was completed. Both transceivers are communicating with the platform. At no time during this remodel were we without PITtag detection. There was a brief period yesterday which we were collecting buffered tag information but did not detect any PIT tags. 11/19/2009 18:30 Darren PSMFC was on site today to begin the transfer of equipment from the vault to the new structure on the deck. At 11:50 PST there was a brief power outage for both transceivers. The power was restored to antenna 03 at 12:30. The buffer was cleared and the timer tag was set to fire once a day. At 16:00 antenna 04 was placed back into operation with communications to the platform, at that time the buffer count was checked on 03 and there were zero detections. The site will remain this way until tomorrow when the remodel can be completed. Currently we have antenna 03 operating and storing tags to the buffer while antenna 04 is operating and communicating to the platform. Both transceivers are only firing the timer tag every 1440 minutes. 11/19/2009 08:10 Alan Internet connectivity has been lost, we are working to restore communications. The data collection platform has been verified as functioning properly. 11/19/2009 08:04 alan@bay 04:TestTagFailure: No apparent reason for this one-time alarm. PTAGIS Field Operations will continue to monitor. 11/17/2009 07:29 alan@bay 04:TestTagFailure: This transceiver is experiencing noise into the 20's. It will be investigated during the next site visit. 11/16/2009 08:04 alan@bay 04:TestTagFailure: This transceiver is experiencing noise into the 20's. PSMFC will monitor over the weekend in hopes to obtain more data that could assist in troubleshooting the problem. PSMFC personnel will investigate further early next week. 11/13/2009 07:26 troy@bay 04:TestTagFailure: This alarm will be addressed on the next site visit. 11/12/2009 08:26 troy@bay 04:TestTagFailure: Noted 11/10/2009 07:34 troy@bay 05:LowExcCurrent,06:LowExcCurrent: These alarms were the result of transceiver re-location work. 11/10/2009 07:33 Darren The Prosser remodel of the Right Bank equipment was completed on 11/9/09 at around 14:30. The systems were turned on and retuned as well as the communications being tested. Trapping is still in progress on the Right Bank and will continue through the rest of this week and possibly into next week. PSMFC will be moving all the equipment from the vaults up to the deck over the next couple of weeks. We will be minimizing any down time for detections and back filling data when possible. 11/09/2009 08:07 troy@bay 04:TestTagFailure: Noted. 10/30/2009 07:41 Darren The Prosser remodel began yesterday and antennas 05 and 06 were shut down at 1:30 for a short time. The tribe is operating the trap and will continue to operate the trap for at least 2 more weeks. All PIT tagged fish are being scanned in the trap and no detections are being lost. Tribe Biologist Mark Johnston was contacted and agreed that the system could be shutdown for a short period of time due to the hand scanning that is taking place. 10/02/2009 14:53 Darren A site GMC was performed today (10-2-09). When I arrived the noise levels were such that the screen was locked up. After powering down each one and powering back up I was able to see that the signal level was 25-35% and I could not tune it out. I shut off everything that I could and there was no change. I plugged the transceiver directly into the wall outlet, bypassing the UPS and still no change. I canvased the site to see if I could find anything out of the ordinary. I did fine that one of the hinges on the backer board access cover was broken causing the lid to be partially open. I pushed the lid back down and went back to check on the transceivers, I was then able to tune out the noise....? I tried to re-produce the noise by putting the access cover at different positions, thinking it was a vibration thing, but was not able to re-produce so perhaps there was some ambient noise in the area? 08/12/2009 08:10 alan@bay 05:Overrun,06:Overrun: These alarms will be investigated during a site visit later today. 08/05/2009 11:58 Darren A site GMC was performed today 8-5-09. The clocks on both PCs were set to within one second of atomic time. No problems found. 06/19/2009 13:04 Darren The site was visited today 6-19-09 to investigate the communications problems with antenna 01. PSMFC noticed that there was scrambled data coming from the transceiver since late yesterday. It was present on both PC's. The FO modem that feeds the radio modem at the left bank ladder for antenna 01 was replaced. PSMFC had PCA'd into the site and we found that you could not send commands from PC1 so both PC's were rebooted and communications were re-established. While in the process of rebooting PC1 there was a 3:06 file gap created (10:44:46 - 10:47:52). After checking the same time frame for PC2 I determined that there were no PITtag detections within the 3:06 gap. The next PITtag detection was recorded on PC1 and PC2 at 10:59 PST so no file was created. PSMFC will monitor for future comms issues. 06/19/2009 09:04 darren@b 01:LowExcCurrent,02:LowExcCurrent: These alarms were generated by PSMFC during a site GMC. 06/18/2009 16:06 Darren A site GMC was performed today 6-18-09. Mark Johnstone confirmed the date and time of the sites operational status. The site operational status page has been updated to reflect this information. 01/26/2009 07:48 scottl@b 06:TestTagFailure: Noted 01/25/2009 08:40 darren@b 06:TestTagFailure: Alarm will be addressed during the next site visit. 01/24/2009 09:14 darren@b 06:TestTagFailure: This site will be investigated on the next site visit. 01/23/2009 08:11 alan@bay 06:TestTagFailure: This transceiver is experiencing noise (most likely due to accumulations in the trash racks) and will be investigated during the next site visit. 01/22/2009 07:28 alan@bay 06:TestTagFailure: This transceiver is experiencing noise and will be investigated during the next site visit. 01/21/2009 07:32 alan@bay 06:TestTagFailure: This transceiver is experiencing noise and will be investigated during the next site visit. 01/20/2009 07:52 alan@bay 06:TestTagFailure: This will be investigated during the next site visit. 01/18/2009 08:17 troy@bay 06:TestTagFailure: This could be the result of turbulant waters or that the transceiver is in need of a tune. This will be addressed on the next site visit. 01/16/2009 08:31 Troy It appears that a modem for 03 may be failing. It also may be climate related as the area is experiencing freezing rain/fog. PSMFC will monitor an if necessary replace the modem early next week. 01/15/2009 08:04 Darren The electronic equipment was re-installed in the left bank and center ladders yesterday (1-14-09). The left bank ladder was completed ~12:30 and the center ~14:30. The site operational status page has been updated to reflect this action. There was an intial problem with the radio communications on antenna 03, I checked all the connections and cycled power out at the ladder but this did not solve the issue. I then rebooted the power and platforms in the PITtag room still did not solve the issue. A new radio modem was programmed for install but I discovered that the communication issues had been resolved prior to leaving the PITtag room. I believe that the UPS in the ladder had been depleted enough that when it was re-installed there could have been a supply issue when the modem was transmitting. I decided to leave the original modem in place and observe communications for problems and repair or replace as necessary. 01/14/2009 07:23 troy@bay 06:TestTagFailure: This will be addressed when the rest of the equipment in re-installed. 01/13/2009 08:06 troy@bay 06:TestTagFailure: Noted, this will be addressed when the water levels return to normal. 01/10/2009 07:37 darren@b 06:TestTagFailure: The water level through this ladder very high. PSMFC will investigate the failures during the next site visit. The equipment in the center and left bank ladders has been removed due to flooding. 01/08/2009 07:53 Alan The transceivers and other electronics were removed from the left and center ladders the evening of 1/7/2008 in anticipation of flooding. Re- deployment is expected to occur early next week. 01/07/2009 07:06 darren@b 01:TestTagFailure: Alarm noted and will be investigated during the next site GMC. 01/06/2009 08:13 Scott_Li Set pc clocks to within 1 second of atomic time. Clock on pc1 was only 10 seconds ahead of atomic time when set. 01/05/2009 07:46 darren@b 06:TestTagFailure: Alarm will be investigated during the next site visit. 01/01/2009 00:00 PTOC_Bot Annual log file initiation for PRO #### End of Event Log for PRO ###
