No problems to report. 11/29/2011 08:27 alan@bay 02:BadExcFreq,02:BadOscFreq,02:LowExcCurrent,04:Overrun: Clearing TASS, issues addressed yesterday. 11/28/2011 13:58 Darren A site GMC was performed on the ladder antennas today (11-28-11). The timer tags on antenna 02 had fallen way down and it appeared to be out of tune. When I arrived I found that both 01 and 02 were without power upon further investigation I found that the whole ladder was without power. I was able to get in touch with Corkie (BOR) and he informed me that he was working on the center bank main AC panel and had shut the main breaker off which also feed the Left bank ladder and had forgot to turn it back on. According to him the work was performed between 09:30 and 10:00 so the transceivers would have lasted until the UPS ran out. Once the power was restored I went back to the left bank ladder and found that indeed 02 is noisy (20-40% signal), I swapped the antenna cables and found that the noise followed the antenna. I then investigated the water flowing through the antenna and found that the flow is shooting out the downstream (02) antenna. I called Mark Johnston and alerted him the trash racks being plugged. Also the chandler canal was shut down so there is no flow through the channel which may be the cause of the added debris. PSMFC will monitor this situation and check with BOR about geting the trash racks cleaned to see if the noise source goes away. 11/22/2011 11:55 Roger Performed site GMC on 11/22/11. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjusted as needed. PC1 and PC2 are within 1 second of atomic time and each other. The canal is being cleared of debris and silt and repairs are being made to the rotating drum screens. This means that the juvenile facility is without water. The ladders are open for passage. 05/26/2011 08:32 alan@bay 06:TestTagFailure: A PIT tag was in the field when the timer tag was fired. 05/25/2011 12:00 Troy The pit tag room is at about 80Deg F. The wall unit was shut off, I turned it on but it doesn't sound very good...... 05/25/2011 11:59 Troy At the site for a GMC 05/25/2011. All transceivers were checked for tune on the ladders. The JFF is currently de-watered. Found the backer board on the center ladder to be partially pull from it's guides. The down stream edge was completly across the fish path. I contacted Mark J. of YIN and offered to shut down the ladder and re-install the backer board. He gave me permission to do so and so it was done. After re-installing the backer board I contacted Mark J. again and informed him it was in and operational but the debris problem was such that it will most likely get sucked out of it's slot again if the down stream pickets are not cleaned. He said he would send Jeff out to address the issue. No other problems to report. 05/25/2011 07:54 Scott_Li FYI I just wanted to give you the timeline for the ladder closures for this last event. Center and left were shut down Monday May 16th at 8:45am, right was shut off at 1:15pm. Right was re-opened on Monday May 23rd at 9:45am, and left was opened at 3:30pm. Center ladder was opened Tuesday May 24th at 10:00am. Mark asked me to e-mail this to you and Darren, however I do not have his e-mail. If you could forward this on to him, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Jeff Trammell Fisheries Biologist 05/25/2011 07:00 Darren PSMFC was informed yesterday that the ladders at Chandler dam were opened back up at 11:00. The Juvenile fish facility is still shut down due to high water levels. PSMFC will post the time and date when the Juvenile facility is back in operation. 05/16/2011 15:13 Darren PSMFC was informed that all three ladders were shut down due to the river conditions. The ladders will remain out of service until the river has settled down. 05/13/2011 14:51 Roger GMC was performed on 5/13/2011. The radio modem was replaced at ladder for transceiver 03. Firmware on all other radio modems was upgraded to version 2.66. Transceivers were checked for tuning, noise, and detectability and adjusted as needed. PC1 is 45 seconds behind atomic time. PC2 is within 1 second of atomic time. No other problems to report. 05/04/2011 14:47 scottl The issue with PC2 network connection lies on port 3 of the Sonicwall. Plugged PC2 into port 1 and 2 and the connection was repaired, plugged into port 3 and the O/S indicates that the network cable is unplugged. PC2 is now on port 2 and working fine. Will post note on SW NOT to use port 3. No other issues to report. 04/25/2011 07:25 scottl Unit 03 had lost or scramble communications once again. PCA'd into both PC1 and 2 and restarted Minimon in order to clear the errors. The errors started somewhere around 21:15 hrs on 114.G. This is an ongoing occurrence with this unit. 04/19/2011 08:30 Alan File PRO11108.E1.TMP was modified with the addition of a closing time stamp, no other changes were made. PRO11108.E1 was submitted to fill the gap on 4-18-2011. 04/18/2011 14:25 Troy A site GMC was performed 04/18/2011. All transceivers were checked for tune and adjustments made where needed. The right and left bank ladders are experiencing noise spikes due to semi-turbulent water at a very high level. 10 sticks were thrown on A1-A3, I attempted to run a report but Minimon would crash every time I tried it on PC2. I noticed PC2 was a MiniMon v.1.5.0 and PC1 was at MiniMon v.1.5.1. so I tried to run a report on PC1. The program crashed on this machine as well. There is a ~30 second data gap as a result. Information from PRO11108.P2 should be able to fill the gap but this file was not submitted as the times would overlap. The PC's are within one second of atomic time and each other. No other problems to report. 04/12/2011 12:34 Darren A site GMC was performed today (4-12-11). All transceivers were checked for tunin, noise and detectability. the center bank ladder trash racks were in the process of being cleaned. they had become plugged enough to cause the flow through the antennas to become very violent. This generally makes it hard to read timer tags, the noise was spiking, but not excessively. 10 test sticks were passed through the separator monitor with 100% detection. No problems were discovered during this visit. 04/08/2011 12:43 Darren A site GMC was performed today (4-8-2011). All transceivers were checked for tuning, noise and detectability. 10 sticks were passed through the separator monitor with 100% detection. No problems were discovered during this visit. 04/07/2011 09:44 Nicole Updated obs_site_dates. 04/07/2011 09:22 Alan Correction to the previous pitevent: The JFF was dewatered for facility repairs from 1300 4-1-2011 to 1330 4-5- 2011 (not 4-12-2011). The JFF is currently in operation. 04/07/2011 09:20 Alan The JFF was dewatered for facility repairs from 1300 4-1-2011 to 1330 4- 12-2011. The JFF is currently in operation. 04/07/2011 08:29 Scott_Li Per Corky at the BOR, the center and left ladder exit gates at chandler dam were reopened at 13:00 hrs on 4/6/11. The gates were originally closed last Friday, 4/1/11 (late afternoon is best info we have) due to high water and debris. 04/04/2011 12:44 Scott_Li Per Corkey at the BOR, the center and left bank ladder exit gates are closed and will remain that way until water conditions improve. The right bank ladder is still open for fish passage. 03/30/2011 14:18 Darren A site GMC was performed today (3-30-2011). All transceivers were checked for tuning, noise, and detectability. 10 sticks were passed through the separator monitor with 100% detection. No problems were discovered during this visit. 03/29/2011 08:07 Darren The left ladder was out of commission due to a viewing window backboard problem that was a result of the last flood of the river. The repairs were being made by the YN. 03/29/2011 07:57 Alan The left ladder watered up the week of 3-21-2011. If we can get a more precise date it will be posted. 03/27/2011 06:50 Alan MiniMon was exited and restarted on PC2 to re-establish communications with Xcvr 03. PC1 comms to 03 were verified to be good. 03/23/2011 11:32 Roger GMC was performed today. All tranceivers were checked for tuning, noise, and detectability. 10 test sticks were passed through seperation monitor with 100% detection. No problems discovered during this visit. It appears that new radio tag detection equipment has been installed on the center and left bank ladders. 03/07/2011 14:07 Troy PC2 was replaced, apparent bad harddrive, and Minimon was configured and comm's tested. PC1 and PC2 are within 1 second of each other and atomic time. 03/07/2011 11:09 scottl Visited site to diagnose PC2 after problems were experienced over the weekend. PC2's hardrive has crashed and will not boot. Made several attempts to get the PC back up but no deal. Need to rebuild a replacement PCc for PC2. Also, the following error message below indicates that PC1 BlueScreened on March 6th. When arrived, PC1 was fully functional and Minmion was collecting data. The below message was is the foreground. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.6 Locale ID: 1033 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: c5 BCP1: 0234BC6C BCP2: 00000002 BCP3: 00000001 BCP4: 81CF32A1 OS Version: 6_0_6001 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 256_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini030611-01.dmp C:\Users\Prosser\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-19250-0.sysdata.xml C:\Users\Prosser\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9359.tmp.version.txt 03/06/2011 09:08 Troy PC2 will be addressed first thing tomorrow. Site personnel were not able to re-start PC2. 03/06/2011 08:34 Troy Minimon had to be shutdown due to comm's issues with 03. An attempt to stop and start minimon did not fix the problem. There may be a unfillable data gap as I'm unable to communicate with PC2 so I don't know if it is currently collecting data. I will make attempts to contact site personnel. 02/27/2011 11:29 scottl Due to communications errors on xcvr 03 Minimon had to be restarted to clear the RS-232 connection. This problem is an ongoing issue that has not completely been understood or corrected. 02/19/2011 07:38 darren@b 05:TestTagFailure: This alarm will be addressed during the next site visit. 02/04/2011 08:23 alan@bay 05:TestTagFailure: There might be some tuning issues going on, but the exciter report looks good now. PTAGIS Field Operations will continue to monitor. 02/03/2011 07:35 Scott_Li Transceivers 01 and 02 are in need of tuning, phase has shifted and noise levels are in the 30 percent range. 02/01/2011 10:41 Darren I confirmed today that the Juvenile Fish Facility at Chandler was placed into operation on 1/14/11 at 08:00. The site operations page has been updated. 02/01/2011 08:18 Darren As stated in previous postings the ladder exits on all three (3) ladders were closed on 1/18/11 around the middle part of the day. I have confirmed with the YN (Yakama Nation) video technician that the Right Bank exit was reopened on 1/24/11 around 12:00 and the Center bank exit was reopened around 12:00 on 1/26/11. The Left bank exit remains closed for repairs to the Counting Window backboard infrastructure. There is no definite date for the completion of the repairs but PSMFC will confirm and post these dates when they become available. 01/25/2011 10:55 Darren PSMFC was informed yesterday that the Left Bank and Center Bank ladders are still in a state of closure for the exits. The right bank ladder was never out of service. In the process of shutting down power the breakers for the center ladder transceivers was inadvertently powered off. The ladder will be open some time tomorrow, BOR will inform us when that happens. 01/24/2011 08:28 Scott_Li Per Corky at the BOR, a log slammed into the electrical panel on the center ladder during the recent flood. This is more than likely the reason for loss of communications to transceivers 03 and 04. Corky will be on site this morning and call with status when he arrives. 01/21/2011 07:45 Darren We have been watching the communications with antenna 02 and today 1-21-11 I was able to PCA into the site and reboot the computer. We will monitor this for solid radio communications. As stated in an earlier event log post the entrances to the ladders have been closed because of flooding. BOR personnel are going to inform us when the ladders are back in operation. 01/18/2011 13:23 Darren PSMFC was informed by BOR personnel that the Entrance gates for all three ladders and power was removed with the exception of the transceivers and the radio equipment. The gates may be reopened on Wednesday or Thursday. BOR will notify when this occurs. 01/16/2011 08:56 Troy Please ignore the previous pit event. 01 is communicating just fine. 2010's report was loading on my computer, thus the confusion. 01/16/2011 08:48 Troy 01 is incommunicado with the platform. Attempts will be made to remedy this. 01/15/2011 11:44 Troy It appears that shortly after contacting Centurytel the site's Ethernet connection recovered. 01/15/2011 10:15 Troy Contacted centry tel in regards to the access issue. The technician I spoke with was able to get a good signal to the sonicwall but was concerned with the noise margins he was seeing. His statement to me was that he didn't like the line stats he was seeing and would like to have a technician come out and investigate. He stated that someone will be out between 11am and 1pm on 1/18/2011. The technician will NOT need access inside so no one is required to be there. I've left messages with Mark Johnston in hopes he may have some numbers I can try to verify that the platform is up. More info if or when it becomes available. 01/15/2011 09:40 Troy The site is red on Hobbit and hasn't loaded since the three o'clock load. No one is answering at the facility. 01/14/2011 13:03 Don_Warf All DSL connectivity is now restored. From: Don Warf Sent: Friday, January 14, 2011 9:40 AM To: 'pitevent@psmfc.org' Cc: Chris Matthews Subject: bo1,bo2,bo3,bo4,bcc,b2j,jdj,pro We are currently experiencing a DSL outage at these sites. Centurylink reports that the outage covers the states of Oregon and Washington. They estimate the outage will last until 11:00pm tonight. More soon. 01/11/2011 15:18 scottl Responded to the reported problem with the DSL line, Hobbit turned RED. When arrived, had no access to the internet or FTP transactions. Noticed a terrible hum in the voice side of the DSL service. Cycled power on the DSL modem and all connectivity was restored. Suggest either we install RF chokes on the POTS side of the DSL and or call the provider and have then check the line for clarity. No other problems to report. 01/04/2011 08:24 Darren I was at the chandler facility yesterday and found that is was not watered up. I spoke with Mark Johnston this morning and he confirmed that is was supposed to be watered up on 1/3/11, but that there were problems with the canal. The BOR was working on screens or gates, he was unsure, but he would let us know when the facility begins operation. 01/03/2011 15:33 Darren PSMFC was on site to solve the communication problems with antenna 01. The modem in the PITtag room had evidently gone bad and causing the programming on the ladder modem to be changed. I replaced the modem at the ladder becasue I was unbale to upgrade the firmware with the freewave utility. Then the modem in the PITtag room was changed after I tried another modem and communications were fine. The modem in the PITtag room was full of unreadable information when I read the modems program. The communications were tested and no problems were found. 01/01/2011 00:00 PTOC_Bot Annual log file initiation for PRO #### End of Event Log for PRO ###
