The upper antenna (A1) was installed within the cement outlet structure for the pond and began functioning on March 22. The lower antenna (B1) was installed approxi- mately 50 meters downstream of the acclimation site and was functioning by April 22. Fish were transferred from Willard National Fish Hatchery to the back-channel acclimation site on March 23 for short-term acclimation during the spring months. A forced release occurred on April 23 for coho accli- mating on-station at the WNFH and a volitional release began on April 29 for coho acclimating within the back-channel. The volitional release was concluded on June 14, when final observations determined that all fish had exited the site. It should be noted that juvenile Spring Chinook and steel- head were also released from the WNFH during this time, as both species were force-released on April 19. Tag codes from all three species of juveniles as well as returning adult steelhead and spring Chinook are recorded within the interrogation files. The lower antenna (B1) was interrupted from May 6 at 10:02 AM to May 10 at 10:04 AM, due to electrical complications. Early detections prior to the coho release were presumed to be "escapees" and net adjustments were made immediately after detections were noticed. Interrogation antennas A1 and B1 were in series and captured 100% of the stream during the detection season.
