EVENT LOG FOR SITE SUJ The first line of each entry contains a date/time stamp & who is reporting. The most recent entry is listed first. Date Time Who ---------- ----- -------- 06/21/2011 10:49 Kirk The North Fish Bypass was put back into operation on the morning of June 20. 06/21/2011 10:48 Kirk John Tenney assisted PGE in downloading the buffer of transceiver #00 in the Turbine 13 (Full Flow) bypass on Friday morning (June 10, 2011) to see if any tags were recorded during the outage that occurred after the juvenile fish bypass system was switched from the North Fish Bypass to the Full Flow Bypass (see previous PIT event for detail). The buffer was downloaded it to the current interrogation file no buffered tag observations were recovered from the download. Therefore, a gap in tag interrogation exists between May 15 and June 2 because the North Fish Bypass was shut down and transceiver #00 in the Full Flow Bypass was not working. The clocks on both PC1 and PC2 were updated as was the clock on the FS1001M transceiver, and set to PST. 06/07/2011 08:04 Kirk The North Fish Bypass at the PGE Sullivan Plant was shut down on the morning of May 15 because of high water levels in the tailrace of the plant caused by the Willamette River being backed up by high water levels in the Columbia River. This bypass is covered by Transceiver #A1. The bypass route was switched over to the Turbine 13 bypass, which is covered by Transceiver #00. Coincidental with the switchover, Transceiver #00 stopped working sometime after at 21:05 on May 14, which was the last noise report recorded in an interrogation file. Therefore, SUJ had no detection capability after that time until June 1 when the problem was fixed. Because interrogation files continued to be uploaded and because PGE is no longer actively conducting tests at the site, the status of Transceiver #00 was not discovered until May 23 and was not fully diagnosed and fixed until June 1. The problem apparently was a failure of the UPS for the transceiver. The UPS may have been shut down by a power surge and then stayed off-line. When the problem was discovered the transceiver was temporarily plugged into a power strip until the UPS can be replaced. John Tenney will assist PGE in downloading the buffer of #00 to see if any tags were recorded during the outage. As a result of this event, ODFW and PGE will work with PSMFC to see if we can find a solution to O&M issues for the SUJ site. 01/01/2011 00:00 PTOC_Bot Annual log file initiation for SUJ #### End of Event Log for SUJ ###
