EVENT LOG FOR SITE TMJ Most recent activity to be listed first. First line of each entry lists date, time and who is reporting. Subsequent lines of each entry aligned under Time column. Do not use tabs, only spaces. Date Time Who What -------- ----- -------- ----------------------------------------------- 10/01/2004 18:32 Dave Shannon Jewett notified me that data file TMJ04271.A was erroneously submitted to PTAGIS. There were no anomalies detected during file processing, and so no NET_ANOM messages were generated. I manually deleted the references to the six tag detection records contained in this file from the obs_data, obs_by_day, and obs_site tables, removed the references to TMJ04271.A from the fd_file and fd_submit tables, and deleted the TMJ04271.A file from the PTAGIS file server. 07/08/2004 08:10 Darren_C I was notified by Shannon Jewett yesterday that the trap had been shut down for the year and that ODFW had removed power from the transceivers as well as the UPS. I called and talked with her and had her restore power to the UPS and the transceivers. PSMFC has power to the transceivers on a yearly basis, this allows the transceiver to remain heated and it does not draw on the battery for the RAM. Shannon said that she would restore power to both the UPS and transceivers, she also made the comment that the trap would begin collection some time in February of 2005. Darren R. Chase PSMFC Systems Engineer (509) 735-2773 ext.3 07/07/2004 22:51 Dave I disabled automatic site checking. I will enable it again next year, when the site is re-activated. 07/07/2004 11:45 Shannon_ The juvenile fish sampling facility at Three Mile Falls Dam (TMJ) was shut down at 0834 on 7/7/04. projected startup will be in February 2005. 06/17/2004 14:45 Alan This is a test message sent from the ‘legacy’ web interface. It should be deposited in the top-level directory of the TMJ Events forum. 06/17/2004 13:49 Alan Shannon Jewett reports that the nine minute file gap appearing on 06/14/04 from 10:24 to 10:33 happened because the interrogation computer had to be re-booted. The down time occurred during a sample period so that no fish data was lost. 06/02/2004 14:40 Dave Per Shannon Jewett, there is a 9.5 hour gap in data collection between midnight and 9:34 AM on 6/1/04, when the TMJ computer was rebooted. The TMJ trap was out of service during this interval, so there were no unreported fish detections during this period. 06/02/2004 10:02 Shannon_ The trap at TMJ on the Umatilla River was not installed again until 6/1/04 at about 1230 pm. 05/27/2004 09:06 Shannon_ Due to high silt and debris loads in the Umatilla River, we pulled out the trap at TMJ on 5/24/04 at 1345. We plan to install the trap again on 5/28/04 in the morning. Therefore, no detections will be seen between the pull date and the reinstall date. 04/27/2004 11:36 Scott_Li Called site personnel as a courtesy to see how things were going and offer assistance with any issues with the PIT-tag system. Per Shannon F. indicated that everything seems to be fine. We did see a file submission failure notification yesterday but things seem to have been ironed out. Reviewed the raw interrogation files for this site and checked the transciever the parameters. No problems detected. A site visit was scheduled but from talking with Shannon, no one is at the site at this time and PSMFC does not have a key to the main gate. Shannon indicated that they were working on getting us key's but was unsure as to when we would recieve them. 03/05/2004 16:13 Dave I added Josh Hanson to the Site Alert notification list for TMJ in etc/sites. 03/05/2004 15:01 Josh_Han After receiving notice on 4 March from PTAGIS staff in Kennewick that files had not been seen from TMJ site since 4 March at 01:00, on-site personnel were contacted to initiate the troubleshooting process. It was determined that files could not be uploaded due to the 'ftp connection timing out' or 'files not being available' when the auto upload process was running. On 5 March the settings for the 'file creation' and 'file upload' process were aligned to every 3 hours. Also, the 'synchronize and upload' was enabled and set to 120 seconds. Files were manually uploaded at 09:23 and an auto upload was successful at 12:20. 03/04/2004 12:45 Dave I updated the etc/sites file to include Tara White and Shannon Jewett in the Site Alert notification list. 03/04/2004 11:23 Darren_C I spoke with Tara White after receiving the notice that files had not been seen from TMJ since 01:00 this morning. She said that they were sampling today and would find out what if any the problems were. I also notified her that they need to change the uploads to 8 per day since they were creating files every three hours. This will ensure that there is a file to send when the auto uploader runs. 03/01/2004 11:22 Shannon_ 2/27/04 A call was received from PSMFC that no files were received from the stationary transceivers at TMJ since 0700 on 2/26/04. The Minimon program was up and running and both transceivers were functioning upon arrival at the site. During troubleshooting a framing error was found on com 8 (coil 10), and two upload failure messages* were found in the log on 2/26/04 12:04 and 2/26/04 18:00, but the files were transferred successfully on 2/27/04 01:39. All connections were checked and a test upload was performed successfully. The Minimon program was stopped and started twice. The first time a Windows virtual memory error message was received but no errors were created during the second restart. This eliminated the framing error on com 8. One file was marked for upload which was performed manually. The upload was successful. PSMFC was contacted and the procedures conducted were discussed. The configuration for uploading files was changed from every 6 hours to every 3 hours. *The internet connection at the TMJ site is shared with the office site of two ODFW projects, therefore the upload procedure periodically fails when the line is in use. 02/27/2004 08:05 Darren_C The site was not in operation from 2-13-04 through 2-24-04 at 08:30. There was a problem with a pipe that had busted at the facility. The problem with the data submission is being checked on by Tar White. She informed that there were some computer issues yesterday so she was going to talk with Josh and get back to me so I can update the event log and possibly get the files submitted. 02/26/2004 09:36 Dave I updated etc/sites to enable site checks and alerts, which will be distributed to 'site_maint@psmfc.org' . 02/16/2004 10:31 Shannon_ 2/10/04 we installed the trap at the TMJ site, watered up, and began sampling 100% of fish through the facility. Sampling began at 1530. 2/12/04 PSMFC finished upgrades to the TMJ detection system. The system now consists of two stationary tranceivers and coil antennas wrapped around the 8" fish passage pipe. The system was tested and came online at about 1300, but we are still hand sampling all fish until early March. 01/28/2004 17:14 Carter_S Added new configuration to reflect change in exit flume and equipment upgrade.
