EVENT LOG FOR SITE WFF The first line of each entry contains a date/time stamp & who is reporting. The most recent entry is listed first. Date Time Who ---------- ----- -------- 06/10/2008 15:43 scottl@b 03:LowExcCurrent: Testing 06/06/2008 10:49 Dave The DMBS server crashed yesterday as interrogation data files were being processed. The appropriate steps were taken to restart the DBMS and recover unprocessed data records and their source files. As part of the recovery process, most of the outstanding data files were processed yesterday afternoon. The remaining 15 files were processed this morning. This included one file each from GOJ, MC2, MCJ, RIA, SUJ, VC1, VC2, and WEA, four files from TWX, and three files from WFF. 03/18/2008 15:30 draft The #2 antenna was replaced on March 13 and final check and tuning were completed early March 14. Work to replace the antenna began on February 20 when additional floor bolts were installed on all antennas; and two lower wall attachment bolts were replaced. Attachment plates were installed over the transition piece footing and bolted to the fishway floor on the new floor bolts. The transition piece for the #2 antenna was re-installed on March 11 and the final floor bolts were installed. The replacement #2 antenna was installed, conduit was repaired, and antenna cables were attached to the transceiver. #2 antenna was tested and tuned; and all antennas were tuned after the fishway was re-watered. Final check and testing was completed early March 14. Work was conducted in the fishway on March 18 to replace switches for the cleaning window; ladder was dewatered and noise levels rose during the time the work was done. 01/14/2008 10:36 Schroede The #2 antenna at Willamette Falls fishway (WFF 02) broke free on Jan 1 and was discovered on Jan 4. The fishway was drawn down on Jan 11 and the antenna and fiberglass attachment transition piece were removed. Ladder was re-watered and the system is currently operating with 3 antennas: full coverage on the downstream weir wall (antennas 03 and 04) and coverage of one of the two orifices on the upstream weir wall (antenna 01). Inspection at the site suggests that a floor anchor bolt began to pull out thus allowing the transition piece to begin to angle out of the foot attachment flange and eventually put enough pressure on the other floor bolt that it snapped. Additional upward force from the flotation in the antenna caused two wall attachment bolts to snap off and the fiberglass piece pulled off the other 3 wall attachment bolts. Damage to the antenna will be assessed by Biomark and repair to the transition piece or replacement will be needed. Options for additional anchoring of antennas and transition pieces are being investigated. All other antennas and attachment bolts were inspected and re-tightened, and no obvious problems were detected. Specifics as determined by looking at the data log follows: Noise levels of the 02 antenna began to rise on Dec 31, 2007 at around 1800 Noise levels remained high and test tag failure occurred on Jan 1, 2008 at 2323 02 antenna was discovered floating on surface of the upstream weir pool during unrelated tour with PSMFC personnel on Jan 4 02 transceiver was shut down at 1423 on Jan 4 Fishway was dewatered on Jan 11 at around 0930 01 transceiver was shut off on Jan 11 at 0950 02 antenna and transition piece were hoisted out of the ladder Fishway was re-watered around 1300 01 transceiver was turned back on 1303 on Jan 11 01/01/2008 00:00 PTOC_Bot Annual log file initiation for WFF #### End of Event Log for WFF ###
