The basic data set for interrogation data is very simple, consisting of a location, a PIT tag code, a timestamp and transceiver/antenna IDs for the equipment that detected the PIT tag. The files that report these data also include other pieces of metadata, which vary across the data file formats. See the File Specification section for each format (Minimon, M4, and M5) for more information.

Site Code

Three-character site code representing a registered interrogation site where the Tag was detected.

Valid Active Interrogation Sites

Timestamp

Date and time the tag was detected.

Valid timestamp according to the file. All timestamps are reported in Pacific Standard Time.

Message

The PIT tag code, transceiver message, PLC message, or environmental data recorded at that time and location.

Valid hexadecimal PIT tag code, transceiver message, PLC message or environmental value.

Transceiver ID

The ID assigned to the transceiver that detected the tag code.

Two-character hexadecimal ID.

Antenna ID

The ID assigned to the particular antenna that detected the tag code. This is likely the same as the Transceiver ID unless using a multiplexing system such as the FS100M or IS1001 MTS.
