Operational Period

Email Comments

The operational time period for a site is tracked at several different levels.

Years Active

A site is considered active if it is expected to collect and submit data in that year or future years. A site that is active, may not be collecting and submitting data at this current point in time, but if it is expected that data will be collected and submitted to PTAGIS in the near future, it remains active. The active status of a site is recorded by a true/false field and tracked to the nearest calendar year.

Calendar Year Operational Period

For each calendar year that a site is active, the operational period for that year is recorded with a Start and End date. These dates are currently maintained by PTAGIS staff by hand based on Event Logs.

Interruptions in Operations

Any interruptions in operations, where all equipment at a site is either not operational or not able to detect tags, that occur during the calendar year operational period are tracked in Event Logs.
