Slowly Changing Metadata

Email Comments

Slowly changing metadata is the information about a site that is primarily static, but may change over time as site equipment is updated or management of the site is transferred to other entities. This information is provided by the site stewards and updated manually by PTAGIS staff, in most cases. Most of these values can change over time, but the history is only maintained for some of them. Most values can be viewed in the PTAGIS reporting system alongside interrogation data records. The Interrogation Site Metadata page for each site compiles most of the slowly changing metadata in one page viewable on the PTAGIS website.

This type of metadata is roughly divided into the following types of information:

Identification

Location

Contact information for site stewards and others associated with the site

Configuration

Operational Period

Ad hoc events
