New Radio Transmit Station Could Impact Interrogation Sites

The PIT Tag Steering Committee would like to pass on some information from Gabriel Brooks, NOAA Fisheries, regarding a new source of radio interference that could be impacting interrogation sites with unshielded antennas.

Spatial Data for PTAGIS Sites Now Available

In collaboration with the PSMFC GIS Data Center, PTAGIS has published a spatial dataset for PTAGIS interrogation and MRR sites (mark/recapture/recovery). This dataset contains all previously and currently active interrogation sites, and all MRR sites that are not archaic and for which reliable location information exists.

2015 PIT Tag Workshop - Call for Presentations

The Columbia Basin PIT Tag Information System (PTAGIS) and the PIT Tag Steering Committee are pleased to announce a PIT Tag Workshop to be held January 27 – 29, 2015, at Skamania Lodge near Stevenson, Washington. The goal of the workshop is to bring together those using PIT tag technology in fisheries management, monitoring, or research to share accomplishments and information.

PTAGIS Mark Data Coordinators and Projects

PTAGIS has been incrementally transitioning to linking MRR data to projects rather than individuals for a number of years, and yet another small step has recently been taken in the reporting system. Several coordinator attributes are being deprecated and replaced with project attributes. These changes require that users update any saved reports or subscriptions that filter on the coordinator attributes.

Tag Mask Validation Implemented for MRR Data

The tag mask validation process described in the June 2014 newsletter was implemented on August 20.
