CWP - Chewuch Acclimation Pond

The pond is a man-made, remote acclimation pond located approximatley 6 miles north of Winthrop on Boulder Creek Rd., off the the East Chewuch Rd. Acclimation of juvenile salmon at this site will occur on a yearly basis and between March 1 and June 15, depending on species. The interrogation site is comprised of three AllFlex detection systems installed in series; two within the infrastructure at back of the pond and one in the outlet to the Chewuch River. The systems are installed prior to release and are taken out when all fish have left the facility.

Three antenna’s (01, 02, 03) were located at the outlet of the pond, respectfully. These antennas were never moved. This site experienced a lapse in coverage due to system error. All useable detections were obtained after 04-16-2021 until end of the interrogation event. A single file was downloaded on 05-04-2021 at 1740 hrs at the conclusion of the interrogation period. The Chewuch Acclimation Pond was de-watered on 04-29-2021, but the arrays were left in the outlet channel for 5 days after the end of release. |
