The site facilitates the monitoring of salmonid migration into Okanagan Lake (kłusxnitkʷ) and consists of a VAKI Riverwatcher equipped with submersible PIT antenna in the fish ladder. The fish ladder system on the eastern shore (left bank) of Okanagan Lake Dam (commonly known as Penticton Dam), constructed between winter 2024 and summer 2025, opened on August 18, 2025. PIT system became officially operational on September 18, 2025.
