This is a permanent instream PIT tag interrogation site at rkm 3 located on Peshastin Creek below the bridge at Smithson’s property. The site consists of two rows of antennas, with each row spanning the wetted width of the channel during base flows. Each row consists of 2 15-foot and 1 10-foot PVC antennas, installed in flat-plate configuration. The FS1001M transceiver is powered by grid. The antennas were built and installed by WDFW. A cellular modem is installed on site to provide remote communication and allow for automated data collection. A submersible pressure transducer and temperature probes are installed on site to monitor environmental conditions.

2011 1/1/2011 12:00 AM 1/1/2012 12:00 AM Antenna #1 stopped working on Jan. 5; the remaining antennas failed between Jan. 16-17. Antenna #3 was restored on Jan. 21; the remaining antennas were restored on Feb. 3 and site became operational at approximately 1:45. Antennas 1,2,4 & 5 became nonfunctional at various times on Mar. 31. Antennas 1, 2, 4 and 5 stopped working again on May 15. No data recorded from May 31 to June 3 due to malfunctioning reader. Antennas 1,2,4 and 5 were reinstalled on July 22 and site is fully functional.

On 11 April, something happened to antenna 1 that led to noise increasing to 90% on that antenna.

Site was off from 2 Feb to 10 Feb as batteries in both banks had gone bad.

Interrogation site PES lost power on 02/23/2022. Faulty charger, batteries and switcher timer were cause of loss of power. Power was restored and site was brought back online on 03/18/2022.

Mux lost its settings and the ID reverted back to factory default. I corrected the ID and repaired the rejected tag files and resubmitted them.

Antenna 1 was plugged back in on 6-28-21 it had become unplugged on 5-4-21. This antenna has very high noise levels.

7/20/2017 1:00:00 PM General At interrogation site PES on 7/20/2017 at approximately 1:00 PM, Antenna #1 was brought back online. Cable was bad and was replaced with new cable. All antennas are functioning. Site is fully operational.
5/5/2017 12:00:00 AM General At interrogation site PES on 5/05/2017 at approximately 12:00 AM, antenna #1 lost power. All other antennas are powered up and fully operational.
11/9/2016 3:31:26 PM General Antenna 3 was replaced at the PES array at approximately 12:00. Antenna 3 is now of HDPE construction.
