Event Log Summary

Event Date Event Type Comments
9/15/2023 2:57:00 PM General

The mux transceiver system was replaced with a Master Controller. Three additional antennas (A7 to A9) were added to complete the span across the river. New solar panels were added to improve power reliability.

9/15/2023 1:42:00 PM General

Antennas A7, A8 and A9 were installed on the week of 9/11-9/15. They are presently not activated. They will be activated when a new hybrid TEG is installed at the site. The TEG install is estimated to occur in October 2023.

4/4/2023 12:00:00 AM SiteUp

South Fork Salmon array (SFG) lost power on November 28, 2022.  A helicopter flight with two Biomark IPTDS specialists returned power to the site. Data collection resumed April 4, 2023.

6/30/2022 12:00:00 AM SiteUp

Replaced dead batteries with four 115A batteries.  A short in the TEG ignitor cable likely caused TEG malfunction resulting in a loss of data collection.  SFG was up and running upon technician departure on June 30, however Satellite communications remain down thus data collection not uploaded through July 11, 2022

12/22/2021 11:15:00 AM SiteDown

Site down December 22, 2021 through June 30, 2022.  TEG malfunction caused 8 dead batteries and no data collection.

11/2/2021 12:00:00 AM General

SFG is operating continuously without disruption through 11/02/2021.

9/16/2020 2:06:00 PM General South Fork Guard Station PIT array (SFG) MUX transceiver stopped functioning February 3, 2020 due to a faulty CPU board inside the MUX. The result was a loss of data collection until June 15, 2020 when the CPU board was replaced. SFG site is not accessible during winter because of deep snow. Antenna A4 stopped functioning in early February and was replaced with a Biomark PVC antenna on September 16, 2020. The site is running continuously without disruption through September 21, 2020.
10/17/2019 8:40:00 AM General SFG antenna A3 started losing current on 11/12/18 and continued to operate at 1.0 Amps. A3 was replaced on 10/17/19 with a 20 ft. Biomark antenna. SFG is running continuously without disruption through October 21, 2019.
8/12/2017 8:04:00 AM General South Fork Salmon (SFG) antenna A5 lost current during 2017 spring run off because the antenna cable was pulled out of the antenna. The cable was plugged back in and armored with large substrate. A5 is now operating. Antenna A2 also lost current due to a leak inside the antenna and was replaced with a new 20 ft. PVC antenna. SFG has run continuously without disruption through 8/15/17.
9/26/2016 8:37:00 AM General SFG Antenna A5 lost current 1/29/16. A5 was replaced with a 20 ft. Biomark antenna on 9/26/16. SFG has been operating without disruption through 11/2/16.
9/23/2014 11:45:00 AM General South Fork Salmon Guard station (SFG) is functioning and operational without disruption through 9/23/14
8/14/2014 11:45:00 AM SiteUp South Fork Salmon Guard station (SFG) antenna 1 (A1) began losing current 11/7/2013.  A1 never ceased to function, although read range integrity was reduced.  A1 was replaced with a 20 ft. Biomark lite style of antenna.  Batteries charged by solar were also replaced. Repairs were made to onshore equipment that was destroyed by the fallen tree.
8/12/2014 11:45:00 AM SiteDown South Fork Salmon Guard station (SFG) site went down due to a tree falling on top of all electrical equipment onshore.
10/23/2013 9:48:51 AM General The site has been running continuously without disruption through 10/23/13. No new maintenance was performed.
