Theis is a permanent instream PIT tag detection site consisting of four Biomark 20ft stout pass-by antennas connected to an enclosure pole. The antennas are arranged in two arrays about 10 meters apart. The equipment is linked to direct power and communications are provided by direct phone line. Water depth, water temperature, and air temperature probes are also installed. The site is located 3.14 river kilometers upstream from the confluence with the Salmon River at an elevation of 1855m. The site is characterized as a B-type channel with 2-4 percent grade, a B-type streambed, and a 2-3 (boulder:cobble) stream type. Primary vegetation at the site includes alders, willows, and conifers.

Configuration

Configuration metadata includes details about the equipment used at the site to detect and record PIT tags. A new configuration sequence record is created when equipment is added or removed from the site and the period of time it was active. A configuration sequence without an End Date is currently active.

6/28/2023 12:00:00 AM General

The mux malfunctioned on 6/28 around 1500 PST. The antenna diagnostics was showing no current on the antennas and the noise levels were about 80% on all antennas. I replaced the mux with a spare on 7/6. All antenna current levels are back to the 4-5 amp level and noise levels are back to 2-11%. There were possible tag detection opportunities missed from 6/28 to 7/6, as only 3 tags were detected during that time.

5/2/2022 8:09:00 AM General

I checked and reset the clock of the mux and resubmitted files YFK22120.00E and YFK22121.00A.

12/6/2021 12:00:00 PM General

I updated the time stamp on the mux. I re-uploaded the files that were rejected because the time/date stamp was off.

2/3/2020 8:58:06 AM General This site operated year around with no disruptions of service. All data is correct and accounted for.
4/16/2019 8:00:00 AM General Five pieces of decking on the antennas were replaced. Also replaced two batteries in the battery box.
4/4/2019 7:02:14 AM General I reset the clock on the mux to the correct time. I resubmitted rejected interrogation file YFK19093.00E.
2/8/2018 2:29:40 PM General I reset the mux to the correct time. Also re-submitted the interrogation files that were rejected due to incorrect time.
12/14/2017 9:26:00 AM General An environmental probe board for the air temperature probe and pressure transducer was installed on 12/14/17. Also installed a switch to tie the probe board and serial to ethernet converter to the DSL line.
11/6/2017 12:53:17 PM General Adjusted mux clock to the correct time.
11/2/2017 7:31:02 AM General Summary of system downtime since installation: 12/16/13 at 19:06 12/19/13 at 10:50 …..2 days 15 hrs 44 min. 10/26/15 at 09:49 10:28/15 at 13:04…..2 days 3 hrs 15 min 5/13/16 at 00:57 5/13/16 at 05:28…….4 hrs 31 min 10/28/16 at 12:58 11/18/16 at 07:53……20 days 18 hrs 56 min
6/29/2017 10:59:28 AM General The lithium battery was replaced and I reconfigured the mux remotely back to its original settings.
6/1/2015 1:14:38 PM General Installed new CR1000 program ver 9.01 which eliminates the manufacturer tag prefix filter.
12/18/2014 12:36:21 PM General I reset the time on the mux - which was running 9 minutes fast. I resubmitted files YFK14346.A0A, YFK14351.A0A and YFK14352.A0A which were rejected because of the advanced time.
8/18/2014 4:58:21 PM General I swapped out the existing mux with a loaner from our shop. I was unable to drop the noise (30 to 50 average range) on the existing mux or get it to read VTT's. The loaner mux noise range was in the 2 to 11 % range with VTT's @ 70%. I brought the existing mux back to the shop for repair.
2/26/2014 2:40:13 PM General I have not been able to communicate with the mux remotely although it has been actively reading tags. Dave Evans from the Sho-Ban's fisheries office re-set the mux today and that allowed me to communicate with it. I set the internal clock to the correct PST time.
